Let's put the seniors in jail, and the criminals in a nursing
home.

This way the "seniors" would have access to showers,
hobbies, and walks, they'd receive unlimited free
prescriptions, dental and medical treatment, wheel chairs,
etc. and they'd receive money instead of paying it out. They
would have constant video monitoring, so they could be
helped instantly, if they fell, or needed assistance.

Bedding would be washed twice-a-week, and all clothing
would be ironed and returned to them.

A guard would check on them every 20 minutes, and bring
their meals and snacks to their cell. They would have family
visits in a suite built for that purpose.
They would have access to a library, weight room, spiritual
counselling, pool, and education.

Simple clothing, shoes, slippers, P.J.'s and legal aid would be
free, on request.

Private, secure rooms for all, with an exercise outdoor yard,
with gardens.

Each senior could have a P.C., a T.V., radio, and daily phone
calls.

There would be a board of directors, to hear complaints, and
the guards would have a code of conduct, that would be
strictly adhered to.

Now, to other situation......

The "criminals" would get cold food, be left all alone, and
unsupervised. Llights off at 8 p.m., and showers once a
week. Live in a tiny room, and pay $5000.00 per month and
have no hope of ever getting out. Justice for all.

I like this idea XD

But what if the 'criminal' was wrongly accused?

What do we do when a wrongly accused criminal is jailed in a normal prison?

Ahhhhhhh crap.... here goes...

I work in a State Correctional Facility and I have worked there now for a little over 14 years. Without going into too much detail I will agree that most of what you have written above is actually true (at least in PA). There is a Medical/Dental copay, their bedding is only washed once a week, their clothes are not returned to them ironed and several other minor things I could point out. However your true point is very (and sadly) true. The rule breakers of our world today are catered to while our seniors are routinely mistreated and ignored. Another example of how bad our society (referring strictly to the good ole US of A here) is getting.

No, this isn't just America. People are just stupid, in general. Where a stupid person lives really doesn't make a difference.

But, yes, there are still a lot of stupid people in America.

Being a parent is probably the only way to appreciate what your parents have done. A person is born in his/her weakest state; and parents bring up that kid into adulthood to enjoy life. But when parents need their children, the latter throw them in a nursing home. How humane?!

AH! Elrond, you're back!

Sadly, such is life. There are so many incongruities and ironic situations to point out that it would take too long to make a list.

Are you back or just visiting Elrond? Regardless of which, Welcome Back!

And although this is off-topic there seems to have been some "tweakage" done to the power of Restoration. I only mention this because I figure you would be interested in that - notice I didn't say pleased or happy. That may or may not be the case however. Here's the "conversation".
