Had some nice 'over 1,000 damage club' hits, but only one came close to the final, and that one wasn't unassisted (and even at that, it came below my 1,932 SP unassisted damage record)...
You managed to deal 1,367 points of damage to Ulgror before you were forced to retreat.
As for the battle...
The battle is over...for now...

Pretty close, though nothing like the Ildy battle with Spencer, at 3 SP difference.
Congatulations on TD, Bibs, and sorry about the steal, esteemed fellow Padawan - I could sense the negative Nevernal Force of Darth Draedon and tines of lightning started shooting out of my... ears!...
The Dark Side is indeed hard to resist, as far as those puny little mini-BOGs are concerned. ;)
Don-POW though, as I choose to view it. :) Ah, well. what can I say... I knew my new mission would be a dirty one, when I took it on... but I must stop the Don from giving everyone 'the Kiss of Death.'
(Yes, I am mixing references in there like a demented bodybuilder mixes the most improbable ingredients in his protein shake... Call it cultural implosion. :D)

That's not him, actually, it's this damned forum that's spooky with coincidence-like things, I swear...
To keep my tenuous thread with rationality from snapping, I took to repeating a silent mantra: "it's just coincidence, it's just coincidence, it's just... " - oh who am I kidding, sometimes it's just weird. ;)

MP abandoned - hardly anyone wants to do the work of carving away that ridiculous amount of SP at the risk of multiple deaths (or running away, if someone can simply swoop in, and with a measly round of 500 damage gain the main reward.

Oh, but I can be... :D
Except... :D Well, even Don laughed his bashed rear end off - then he Blitzkrieg'd me again successfully today, as I didn't feel like, or have time for much else but a couple of MPs...
And besides, I'm willing, and offered to give KBs away (and did, I suppose, yesterday, when I walked away from Ildy, where someone else had the TD and I only dropped by late in that game, as well as walking away just before that from Xarakk and leaving him for another someone else, where I had that TD).
I'm just 'bashful' about letting them KBs go by being "ninja'd" in the last round(s). :)
Now I'm back to being bashful... :o

Yesh, sitty sings do happen... I just hope I can keep my debts straight till I can repay them... It's proving to be more difficult than it ought to be, and I rather get debts out of the way and taken care of sooner, rather than later.
But this next case is not quite the same. Not as close though as our incredible 3 SP difference, Spencer (with Ildy, I think :)).
Still, fairly close. No 'dirty tricks,' BOGs and such, only the bare blade:

Huh... Been there, Ankh. Well, you can feel miffed, I think - only don't air it. Fashion it into a nice tidy little bundle, internalise it, be polite, and have it metamorphose into a cute little lump somewhere random.

... that I post the results of an MP.
I tend to only post an MP result if I find some aspect of that MP unique or interesting.
And with so many achieved, find it quite problematic describing a Solo, a Sweep or a TD & KB combination as either 'unique' or 'interesting' (with double digit Solos & Sweeps and too many to count combos, it's problematic giving any of those the label of 'unique' or 'interesting' if that is all that was going on in that MP).
Nonetheless the number & diversity of people involved in this MP ...The battle is over...for now...

* Like three solos in a row in the same MP (http://www.srythforum.com/showpost.php?p=61665&postcount=1102) or Adventurer Rank (Overall): # 5 # 4 or reaching Level 99 in All Powers ... though I suspect those might be viewed as perhaps a bit beyond the "vaguely noteworthy" category.

Scout got some serious tar burns in that one.
One round he ended with SP: 26/228 .
That's not abnormal for a MP, what is is, that was after using a QS heal at around 40 SP.
Anyone got some lighter fluid to clean off all this tar?

This may have been my highest scoring round in this MP - well short of my record 1932 SP, but all right...
SP +18 You've healed back 18 Stamina Point(s) from the combat.
The Enchantment of Mettle helped you avoid 3 rolls of 1.
The Enchantment of Devastation helped you score 1 roll of 20.
Unable to continue with your valiant attack against the mighty tar beast, you fall back from the edge of the bog before swiftly retreating beyond the range of the monster's deadly reach.
You managed to deal 1,670 points of damage to Ulgror before you were forced to retreat.
Suddenly...
On the ground nearby you spot a small, quivering mass of black tar. Much to your horror, you note that the blob of tar bears a disturbing resemblance to a horror-stricken human face.
Despite your initial misgivings, you reach down and take possession of the tar blob.
ITEM You've acquired: Quivering Blob of Tar [ view ]

Had a panic on and finished with a BOG for once...I've been close to hitting the Full House two or three times before and failed on the final MP so this time Varsil made sure he took care of business when it came to the final showdown.
OK, maybe its not the mightiest and most noble after all. Perhaps its just the sneakiest.:p

I saw in the MP rewards thread - Queen Summermoon's thread - you said this was your first, and repped you there. And will say it again: in that case, double congrats, BC, and I consider it a milestone - well done.
OK, maybe its not the mightiest and most noble after all. Perhaps its just the sneakiest.:p
I discussed this casually with other players who are known for their compunction about obtaining a KB in one final shot, or few, with practically no time invested, even inadvertently - players who are reluctant to do so, generally.
We agreed that when you have invested 20, 30, 40, 50 minutes and more into an MP event to carve the baddie up, and you also pretty well know that you've done most of that work by a significant margin (can tell from damage count fairly reliably), the BOG can be an insurance against having it be taken in one lucky, opportunistic shot at the very end by another player who may have invested as little as 15, 30 seconds' worth of time and 'effort' into it. And it can be a way to assert yourself and try to obtain the reward you that might have made your fingers and wrist ache.
Think of it this way: you're on a hunt and you spent a considerable amount of time and effort tracking, hunting, then battling your prey. (You could have been in bed, sleeping, or sipping tea and watching on the sidelines - or working, god forbid :-) - but instead you decided to do this, invest time and effort into the hunt.)
You finally bring it down to its knees, you know that all is left is the coup de grâce, but by the time you'd deliver it, a poacher has come by, took the fortuitous opportunity to deliver that coup de grâce, and took off with most of your pray, most of your hunt's reward...
Is it sneaky, trying to secure your efforts' full reward? I did it too. Am not trying to hide it, and said openly I will do so, in order to secure the reward for which I wasted all that time. You call it sneaky, I call it assertive, right or wrong.
With a big thumping BOG at the end, saying 'oh no, you don't!' :-) It's just my view that way, stilted or not, but ran by others, and as far as can tell, agreed upon, in view of several attempts at last-round jumpers doing lucky BOG hits and grabbing the KB in that one unabashed click of the mouse... :-)
Still avoid using the BOG at the end, if I can, but when I do it to secure my efforts' arguably just rewards, guilt be damned.
Conversely then, if I get the KB in an 'undeserved' way, not having invested time or effort into the hunt, and whether by BOG or by blade alone, well, then it's 'Guilt Central,' mostly... Such things have happened more than once to the most scrupulous of us. Sometimes accidents do happen.
(And sometimes I get carried away, and slash I must, the berserker frenzy takes over. Sometimes.)
I try to make up for those, if I'm given a chance (and if it's not a player known to practice the art of last-minute entrance 'BOG-attacks' - in those cases, I view it as recouping a debt... or 'just deserts' - whichever :-)).
In any case, sneaky or assertive, right now it's the least of my worries and concerns (really), and all I want to say again (after saying all the things I didn't care to say, but now said it anyway), is: congrats, BC.
Looking at the results, I consider it fair, and about the rest - guilt, if any - I don't care.
Like I said, this - gaming ethics disputes - is now the smallest of my worries, I don't really care.
Just enjoy your Full House achievement, if you can.
See, I can't at the moment, I'm just going about it mechanically, to numb myself, my pangs, and whatever else. It feels hollow, and I have to nearly force myself to do any of this, and care. It's that 'Zen'-type grinding I talked about in the 'controversial' grinding thread.
Only, without the 'Zen' ...
(And sorry about typing too much, and going on, again, it's probably a counterpart to not being very talkative these days in RL, if talking at all. I didn't intend it, but couldn't hold it back, so BOG it, there it is: things you don't ask for, but sometimes get.
:\ :-( or :-), not sure which to use, which would be more appropriate, so there's all three, pick what suits... Cheers y'all. :-) [?...])

I seem to recall an earlier post that you normally only use BOGs to preserve a hard-earned KB when you have dealt a good deal of the damage. I am not being critical here. You can BOG whenever you feel like it. I just need to know if I need to add you to the list to BOG away regardless of the situation if I am in an MPS with you.

So, Tetra, explain something to me please? Have you gone completely over to the dark side?
Yes.
All right, since you 'called me out' in the open (again :-)), maybe full disclosure is in order. And I wrote one, but it's too long and it turned too serious. (So I'm scrapping it.)
No, not completely. But sometimes, for the sake of payback.
I seem to recall an earlier post that you normally only use BOGs to preserve a hard-earned KB when you have dealt a good deal of the damage.
Partly correct. You missed the 'payback' part. And there are rare accidents (related to timing, unusually high damage rounds, etc.).
What fits in this case is 'don't get mad, get even.' :-)
I also said that apart from 'securing' a TD, I might occasionally do it for 'payback.'
("Payback's a sunny beach," 'member?)
I remember. Whether I want or not, I remember. I remember even if I try not to. I remember even when I try to forget. It's not an effort I make, remembering...
But that's already turning far too serious. Moving on, then.
Raine and Elayna (and some alts) are old 'friends' of mine - we have a bit of history going back to a time when I wasn't as I am now, when I was green.
There are others, and whether they remember or not, I do, within the confines of the game.
Given the chance and the right inclination, I'll remind them of our 'friendship. Sometimes. If I feel like serving up a proverbial 'cold dish.'
I just need to know if I need to add you to the list to BOG away regardless of the situation if I am in an MPS with you.
You will do as you see fit, Spencer. And I will react accordingly. You know I do have a tendency to react to any action accordingly. Well to good, ill to bad. *shrug*
I know, it's evil, very 'dark side.' Is it?... (In this case it wasn't a BOG, incidentally, but the other, smaller extras, plus mêlée.)
No: no BOGging regardless of the situation. To the contrary - as a rule, I tend to be aware of the specifics of the situation and the characters or things involved and their tendencies and MOs, be it life or game, 'RL' or 'VL.'
(Again, that memory, and remembering things, whether good or bad - or things that begin life as good experiences turning into bad memories... OK, turning too serious again - moving on.)
I had two definite 'wrongs' added to my list recently, done against players I don't know, but who have done nothing of the sort to me: one of them was Voltaic.
In exchange, I helped out, then walked away at the very end of 3 MPs in which I found that character active, without ever trying for the KB, and let him know with the repeated message "KB is yours Voltaic" in the MP rounds display. He ended up with all three KBs, and I consider that debt settled.
Another player I wronged only a couple of days ago, was Oldeneye, at Tar Lake, against Ulgror. And that was a BOG, though I did it while the beast was at 4%, so someone else may have used the BOG. I was just punked by Taechealius of Qwertyweezel right at the end of an MP event against Ildy, and went off to the next MP in progress, against Ulgror, only to end up doing the same...
Ripples in a small pond...
So no, if you don't 'stick it' to me, I won't 'stick it' to you - and if I somehow do screw up and take from someone who never took from me, I'll do my best to right the wrong, and look for that opportunity.
Something I don't do with these paybacks - I don't go chasing after them.
But sometimes, like today, I just stumble on them, and sometimes, not always, decide to go for it.
I'll leave it to you, then, to judge me. Just as you wish: light or dark, good or bad, whether kidding or serious, that's all I have to say in the open, and it's already more than what I needed to say. I don't think highly about trying to justify myself at any price, though I don't like to hide my reasons either. If you don't know me, you don't know me, that's all, no big deal, and can't be helped any more, I think.
This much I said repeatedly: I make no claim 'sainthood.' If in your eyes, or anyone else's, that, or this act, or some other, drops me right into the 'dark' camp - black and white perception - so be it.
Joke or not, that's how I see it.
(Well, that's more 'thorough' and more serious than I intended to be about this. *shrug* Another potential candidate for deletion, I guess, after a few hours' sleep. I meant to post this event with a short comment, as usual, but you were more eager and quicker to do it. So I've been thinking about it a bit, instead. Which led to a very long post, then this - still too long, but now I'm tired and that's as 'concise' as it will get, sorry.)

Thank you for the response. I definitely understand the payback explanation. I have done it myself on more than one occasion. On the other side of the coin, if I am ever in a showdown with Arakin for the KB, I owe him at least two free and clear for an accident I had against him a while back. I forget one or two, but most I remember. I probably still could not BOG away, despite what I said in the post. I recall a recent MPS where you left and let me have the KB. You left when he was at about 5%. I just like to know the rules before I go in. I was long gone from the MPS that started this conversation. Oh, one other thing; there are a couple of players where I will BOG away, despite the situation, unless it might penalize another, more "innocent" player :). Again, I thank you, friend, for taking the time to explain to me.

Arakin is a good person, through and through, that's all I have to say to ecourage you to make good on that... :-)
I recall a recent MPS where you left and let me have the KB. You left when he was at about 5%.
:) I do things like that, occasionally... :) Though, to be truthful, that was was for another friend, Ankh. He had to leave, so I'm glad you got the reward.
I just like to know the rules before I go in.
Ah, the 'rules' ... They can be as headache-inducing as I am, sometimes (often? too often? :-)).
But at its basics, it boils down to what I said in the fewest words possible about my reaction to actions in general, in everything, going well-past the game or its MP events: well for good, ill for bad.
I react well to good deeds, and react ill to bad ones. *shrug*
I try to take time pondering whether a 'bad deed' was really bad, and ponder some more about how to react if I deem it bad after all.
And sometimes (often? too often? :\), I can get all of it wrong. XD (Well, you gotta laugh at yourself, right? And at misery, or miserable failures and mistakes. :-) Otherwise... )
(Or, sometimes only as wishful thinking, 'the rules' could be summed up by "don't get mad, get even," taken light-heartedly. :-))
there are a couple of players where I will BOG away, despite the situation, unless it might penalize another, more "innocent" player :).
Well, there's the rub. :-) That's partly how my last 'KB felony' came about - I saw Solupus present, and thought 'payback's a sunny beach!'
But wasn't sure of the situation, so I decided to use the BOG prematurely for a KB - at 5% (of Ulgror's health), it's normally a sure bet you won't get the KB. 'Normally' ... Unless big damage is dealt by several others, including maybe at least one other BOG-strike by at least one other player - which is what happened, seemingly, because I ended up with the KB unexpectedly, and to my dismay, the TD belonged to Oldeneye by a large margin. not to Solupus... :\ So now I'm 'indebted.'
Again, I thank you, friend, for taking the time to explain to me.
Eh... :-) (I tried, but I think I took it too seriously again, and typed past what was required, as usual... 'I am me.' *shrug* Otherwise: think nothing of it. :-))
~
[edit] For my 'arch-nemesis,' DonMoody's benefit and edification - he knows all the 'reasons' why... Or should, in any case... :-)
I am not particularly 'righteous,' or infallible, and least of all 'perfect,' or 'saintly.'
But... I do travel a different road than you. (And I don't much care whether it leads to ridicule, or even 'insanity.' *shrug* :-))

I think he gave the same percentage to me, which means we went in together - I just nibbled away at it a bit. I took care of a small group of tar minons early in the battle. Guess that was all of them for this time. And yeah, I had to leave due to real life. At some point after I left you arrived and took care of things.
As for resenting you, I wasn't going to answer, but since you asked a second time: Does you being the only person currently on my “I HATE this guy!” list count as resentment? Several times (such as here (http://www.srythforum.com/showpost.php?p=70805&postcount=1267) and here (http://www.srythforum.com/showpost.php?p=70819&postcount=1268), too lazy to search for more examples) I did not use the BOGs and let you have the KB as an apology for past accidents, such as this one (http://www.srythforum.com/showpost.php?p=69660&postcount=1059), and this is how you thank me (http://www.srythforum.com/showthread.php?p=71107#post71107). Some of your comments, such as this one (http://www.srythforum.com/showpost.php?p=71105&postcount=1161) and this one (http://www.srythforum.com/showpost.php?p=70760&postcount=1151), don’t help make you any more likeable in my eyes. It’s as if you consider anyone joining the fight late to be an attempt to steal your KB, which REALLY irks me. MPs are supposed to be cooperative, not competitive, yet such comments make it seem like it is something wrong for other people to join the fight and help. It’s almost as if you consider yourself entitled to the KB just because you did most of the work (which would be true in competitive scenarios – but, again, MPs are not competitive).
Or maybe you just need to work on your wording, so that people like me, who do not have English as their first language, will be able to understand more easily what you’re trying to say… But in the mean time, I am no longer going to hold back on using the BOGs just because you’ve done more damage than me (as you may have noticed (http://www.srythforum.com/showpost.php?p=71112&postcount=1163)).

Does you being the only person currently on my “I HATE this guy!” list count as resentment?
Hmm, I think it may. :-) It will do. And it's good to know. You weren't on "my list," not any more (there was a time, or two, and they lasted a while... but I'll let you guess), but we can work on that - things, feelings, and people can, and do, change, for better or for worse. [edit] Caution, SB: the "person" - i.e., me - you don't even know. Who you think you know, is "Tetra," "TC," etc. But your hatred, by proxy, will do (better than 'do,' in fact) for resentment, yes. It's sort of right that 'admins' and their closest allies at least seem to share the feeling, and are so open about it (refreshing too): I have no particular love for self-aware "figures of authority" either, in general. Isn't that just 'a hoot?' :-)
It’s as if you consider anyone joining the fight late to be an attempt to steal your KB.
There was a time when that was mostly true - though even in those days, I would step back for the sake of friends or players with early-stage characters whose stats were weaker, on occasion.
And again, people and things do change. So I do reconsider things from time to time, and check whether what I think may be the wrong approach or interpretation - of everything, including people...
Or maybe you just need to work on your wording, so that people like me, who do not have English as their first language, will be able to understand more easily what you’re trying to say…
I do my best with what I have, both in terms of feelings/thoughts, and words, a way of expressing them.
But for the umpteenth time, I'm not infallible, nor perfect, so don't expect those things from me - seek a god, or some other 'all-powerful,' all-knowing being who can provide them.
But in the mean time, I am no longer going to hold back on using the BOGs just because you’ve done more damage than me (as you may have noticed (http://www.srythforum.com/showpost.php?p=71112&postcount=1163)).
Heh... OK. I have indeed noticed, thank you for pointing it out, though. :-)
Well, I guess I should cease to hesitate using them, too.
That's all right, then. A game can use a bit of chaos now and again, it spices things up. (Different than the real world, where life takes care of providing the chaos, directly or indirectly.)
So you "HATE" me, eh? XD Well, I'll see if I can reciprocate, in that case, SB. I can't promise anything. :-) 'Back to the drawing board.'
[edit 2] The posts you linked to, SB, are recent ones, relatively speaking. Maybe it's not my English, but my humour that 'confuzzles' you, which is all right.
I don't much care for dry posts most times, whether I'm in a good mood, or bad, so I try to have fun.
And I also seek out posts submitted by others that contain something funny - sometimes I crave those... So much seriousness, dryness, even rigidity or complaining sometimes, from both myself and others, and from the real world as well as the forum, that levity seems is like a breath of fresh air, a lifeline.
Though, in one of those linked posts, there isn't even any attempt at humour on my part, or anything else, for that matter!
All I say is "This was fine, thank you SB," as far I can tell. And that I'm tired and sleepy, so I've got nothing of a remotely entertaining nature for that particular post!
Not sure what on earth you find worthy of your "HATE" there, but I'm really not interested, and won't bother questioning your "HATE," pal. Enjoy it, revel in it, for all I care. (Just be careful what you do with it, and how far you go...)

..., so that people like me, who do not have English as their first language, will be able to understand more easily what you’re trying to say…
First, I liked all of the post.
Second, since the above is all I quoted, so that should say something about what struck the strongest key with me.
One of the aspects I have liked a lot about Sryth is the vast diversity of its players.
Of course, that can mean some language barrier difficulties may arise at times.
Me, well, I frequently use colloquialisms and non-standard verbiage.
Of course, that does not help when I am dealing with those who do not have English as their first or even second language (which was the standard situation at the position I got out of at the end of last year - and which I had held for many years before then).
Yes, this forum is in English, so some may fall into the trap of thinking everyone is as proficient as they are (I know I have done that at times).
Still, all us English-first speakers could do well to remember (unless writing a post no one in intended to understand *is* the intent - and then why is it being posted here? send yourself an e-mail instead ...) to speak and write as plainly & clearly as possible - not just for the points already mentioned, also because even all us English-first forum members have wide ranging English foundations (just get into a room any three of them from as wide-ranging area as this forum covers and you will hear three very difficult 'types of English' being spoken).
Of course, there are times when the author's purpose is to for others to *not* understand what they are posting ... not sure what the point of that is (i.e. in those cases, might as well hit 'delete' as hit 'send').
Shadowblack - thank you for your post, all your Sryth related efforts and all you bring to the Sryth community.
I cannot imagine my Sryth world without you as part of it.

First, I liked all of the post.
Heh. I had no doubt as soon as I saw SB's post, that you'd love it, not like it. :-) (That's not to say others won't, of course, including SB's "HATE" toward me, and only me, so lonesome on "his list." I've been "black shadow-listed." :-))
[...] to speak and write as plainly & clearly as possible - not just for the points already mentioned, also because even all us English-first forum members have wide ranging English foundations [...].
I don't agree with self-censorship for the sake of reaching a linguistic 'lowest common denominator.'
Sryth itself isn't written that way! It has a rich language.
In fact I don't agree with any sort of censorship for the sake of reaching any sort of cultural 'lowest common denominators' - or just about; but that's a bigger subject.
Am I entitled to that?
Or should I bugger off, leave the forum, and write myself emails, as DonMoody so generously suggests? XD Oh, I think some may support your wish, Don. :-) And I may do that yet. Not write to myself, obviously (I do know of people and life outside this forum :-)), but cease imposing my bothersome and apparently unintelligible drivel on my fellow forum members here (not to mention everything else). Not like I'm paid to, or in any way really dependent on it.
(Thanks much, Don, by the way, for that self-emailing advice - any "self-loving" that you'd perhaps like to add? Or others would like to add? :-)
I'm sure it's a very heartfelt and fervently desired suggestion on your part! XD
I know, I know, "that's not what you meant/intended." It never is. Happens to me too, as illustrated by SB's post. I shouldn't take things personally, right? :-) Well, I agree, and I try not to, most times. Or if I do, I try not to let it affect me much.)
So no. There's enough simplification of English that's being done everywhere, for every reason, right and wrong. I don't think I should force myself to be plain and simple at all times.
I'll do it anyway, or try to, when it's really necessary
The exception: when help is asked. Then, yes: as thorough information as possible, and as plain and clear as well.
But ultimately, what's the 'lowest common denominator' to be? And who's going to establish it? You? Would there be a list of "acceptable words?!"
What is plain and clear for one person, may well be insurmountable for another. In extreme cases, even the plainest English may be incomprehensible, or just about.
But if we restrict everyone to the plainest, commonest 1,000 words?... Yes, it will be understood by the widest audience.
Will that audience understand the game text? Just wondering.
Do as you will, but I don't think I'll limit myself at all times. Not in order to gain your approval, in any case. I already censor myself most times for the sake of a fairly 'clean,' sterile language, but this? The forum isn't all step-by-step 'how-tos' - that's what the wiki is for. The forum is also a 'hangout.' Where people can talk as they wish, hopefully, within some limits of 'decency.'
I do try to be as clear and simple as possible, if an advice is asked, or given.
*****
As far as the MP-related portion of SB's post is concerned, one comment: coming in at the end of an even in its last 2-3 rounds is neither "help," nor "cooperation," in many players' opinion, judging from what I have read well before I ever started visiting MP events. Regardless who does it, including myself: and I have done it myself on relatively few occasions; and sometimes ended up with the final blow (intentionally and accidentally, both).
But even when I do comment on it, it's no longer in anger. When I was a relative newcomer to MPs, and unseasoned, I allowed it to get to me to some extent, and you, Don, were particularly good at getting me to that 'extent.'
Now I tend to have fun with MPs. If it works out, fine, and if it doesn't, it doesn't. I try to have fun posting about the outcome either way.
(Just don't go calling final rounds KB attempts "help" and "cooperation," that's a bit silly. It is what it is, what it always was: maximum payout for minimal effort and time.
And it can be fun trying to do it to whomever did it to you - it adds to the game. But I suspect most players would be at least slightly miffed when done to them, so I really avoid doing it to them unless there is precedence on their part. If I do end up with a KB where another player did most of the work, and they've done nothing of the sort to me, I try to 'make it right,' sometimes 'with interest,' as others players tend to do round here.
There is no 100% success rate, of course, and there can hardly be. It's a general guideline for myself, and I do what I can with it.)
Anyway, we're done here, then? :-) Just going by Spencer's reaction, I know this sort of debate most forum users are either utterly indifferent to, or sick of.
Me, I expect to be BOGged by SB, even Don and some others, and may or may not try to do the same. *shrug* I will take it in stride, have fun with it, and post about it, also having fun (if allowed, and hopefully understood). :-)

Please, guys. This is just a game. Let's not go there.
OK, I'm a guy, and I'll be plain and clear and concise.
I intend to have fun - no care, no villagers bearing torches, no anger, no hate (SB's hatred of me notwithstanding, or largely irrelevant, regardless of whether it befits his status, of an impartial admin).
As far as MPs go, I do what I think is right, or what is fun, and still acceptable, hopefully.
And poke fun at it - the process, the actions, the characters involved, and all - when I can.
Others? Well, others will do as they wish, of course, and as they see fit. Just as they do now, and just as they've done before. Actions may receive reactions, but that's a law of physics, and yes, it's a game, and within the game: why not? :-)
As far as Don's suggestions about restricting myself to basic English and emailing myself... Well, all who are so inclined may follow that, if they wish - I decline.
And with that, I hope, I haven't gone 'there.' SB can HATE, Don may approve and like "all of the post" (heh... :-)) - me, I wash my hands: I offered my olive branch (in the form of 'go ahead and hate, I don't care'), more I cannot do. *shrug*
Tell me what more I can do, and I'll see if I'm able, or if it's worth it.
[edit] Double-ninja'd. Nah, caught out by the page refresh bugaboo, I guess. :-) But there's nothing I can think of adding, except 'yay, congrats.'

First I was gonna quote Don but thought I better not as it's not really Don's to quote so let me issue this as from me (although I can't claim it's from me no more than it's an original Don quote). Anyhoo.....
Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot..... Oh bother...... And to quote Spencer, "Aaaannnnndddd....... here we go again." And a tweaking of his "Oh boy." to Oh boys........
And Dooli pass the brandy and congrats on Wales's victory.
Before I go further lemme apologize to anyone/everyone that may take umbrage to any of the above and following including; 1. DonMoody for a. mentioning his name, b. not quoting him then quoting Spencer, c. the remark that the quote wasn't his which can be interpreted as him having claimed authorship at one point which iirc I don't believe he did (if so lemme issue a separate apology for that), 2. Spencer for a. mentioning his name, b. quoting him when I didn't quote Donmoody, tweaking his "Oh boy" which I'll get to later (and advcance apologies to those that feel one is needed when and after I get to that and d. for not properly marking point c., 3. Dooli for a. mentioning her name, b. asking for a shot of Brandy and c. for a possible apostorphe breach as I still get confuzzled on that, 4. To any fans of England for a. congratulating Dooli, b. not offering them commiserations, 5. Wales's fans for another possible apostrophe breach and for apologizing for congratulating Dooli, 6. Shadowblack for a. not mentioning or apologizing to him directly or pehaps for now doing so, 7. Tetra for the same reasons as outlined in the preceding number six. 6a. & 7a. a. For confusion in 6 and 7 as I said for not apologizing to both SB and TC while actually apologizing and b. for putting 6a and 7a out of sync 8. Dooli for apologizing to England fans for congratulating her and Wales as I apologized previously to Wales for that but not or specifically to her (no apostrophe on that usage of Wales needed thankfully (at least I hope - but lemme issue another separate apology just in case)), 9. Winnie the Pooh for a. dragging him into this with my oh bother and b. not properly footnoting the quote in the first place or in this, the second usage (better issue a separate apology for that just in case as well) and c. not using proper quotation marks in either usage (and another apology again - just in case), 10. and some more advance apologies for the "Oh boys" as this is akin to a middle school argument - at least imo, 11. for anyone reading this as well as pedants everywhere for a. a helluva lot of grammatical errors, b. improper spelling and c. what I'm guessing is a run on sentence from hell-o......
Now where were we....?
Hopefully I've done enough apologizing for everyone and all this silliness has put this in perspective for everyone - or at least you're smiling.
Sometimes the past needs to stay there and sometimes folks need to take a deep breath or two, three or four and the high road - it doesn't mean you're a coward or pushover if others "mistake kindness for weakness".
And I'm not making judgements on anyone or upset I just think this needs to be put into "the greater scheme of things" perspective. Hell maybe I don't get it, if that's the case I truly and sincerely apologize.

Play ball................ ;)I am a large fan of being inclusive, as opposed to exclusive.
One of the more common examples of exclusive is the 'inside joke'.
*WE* know the joke but *they* do not, so they (the poor schlubs that they are) are now obviously outsiders and we are 'the kuul kidz'.
By definition, this excludes some people solely for the purpose of deliberately excluding them.
It is invariably and by definition mean spirited.
I once played this game where people made characters.
Some knucklehead would inevitably make a character whose (or so it seemed) main purpose was to be an annoyance to another character (or worse, the entire rest of the group).
Of course, when asked about this, the common reply was along the lines of 'that is just the way this character is'.
A topic which has been widely discussed in such circles.
Now to *very specifically* not be saying *anything more myself* on this topic, I will instead quote an infamous post from an entirely different forum:
Language Warning - the following contains a pejorative use of the term for a piece of equipment used for rinsing a body cavity which some may find offensive."This is what my character would do is", is often the defense of many a douche-bag player.
From the paladin that cuts down his own teammate to the "CN" rogue that steals from his own party.
Here is an idea, why not come with a valid roleplaying reason for you not to have your character act like a total douche-bag to his allies, the other players' characters, just a crazy idea.
Again, I am a fan of inclusive actions.
It is true that Sryth is written in English.
Yet it is also true that the text plus the OED will allow anyone with a modicum of English proficiency to readily be able to comprehend any quest or informative text one encounters in Sryth.
In that way, Sryth is very inclusive - the same of which cannot be said for a variety of the posts one may encounter here.
And given that the GM (by his own admission) receives hundreds of Sryth related posts each week, the GM is amazingly forth coming whenever anyone asks for clarification about something the GM wrote.
An impressive, very inclusive example we would all be wise to follow - post as you wish and if asked for help in understanding what was written, kindly provide it.
No one has to dumb down what they say, just be receptive to providing clarification when asked.
Of course, some will take offense at even the suggestion of the possibility of not being understood (or of the inclusive expectation of explaining an inside joke).
But then, some took offense to the idea that non-land owners should be allowed to vote.
I am disappointed that my praising of someone else's post (http://www.srythforum.com/showpost.php?p=71114&postcount=695) was taken out of context (plus disappointed at the attempt to put words in my mouth) and that the positive compliment I tried to provide was twisted into something disparaging and mean spirited.
So it is best that in closing I quote someone much wiser than I am:

*sigh* You posted an extreme opinion and singled out one other player as the object of your hatred.
You stated you have "a list" (of hated forum members/players) on which he is currently alone.
you being the only person currently on my “I HATE this guy!” list
You posted all this on the forum, of which you are the administrator, which is a well-known fact, commonly known, and your status is not hidden from the public, unlike your log-in status.
You have made no mention of how your hatred is to be interpreted, and in what (unqualified) capacity you expressed that most extreme of negative sentiments in the open, publicly, for all to view and bots and spiders to reference and index prior to being pressed for it by the ongoing discussion, and the circumstances.
You can't divorce your status so easily. In my opinion.
Playing the ESL card, the 'misunderstood' card, the 'I lost my temper because he irks me' card - all just excuses in the end. Not interested.
I don't care whether you hate me or love me, but that's how you chose to express it - I offered the words "resent me," you chose "HATE" in capital latter. I can safely assume you know what "HATE" means, yes?!?
So no, I likewise do not care for your excuses!!!
Is that clear and simple enough now?!
I DO NOT CARE FOR YOUR EXCUSES ON THE SUBJECT OF YOUR PUBLICLY EXPRESSED PRIVATE HATRED!
Otherwise, I don't care, so PLEASE leave me out of your back-pedalling, and PLEASE don't press me any further on this matter.
Let it drop. You said what you said, and it still stands, so assume full responsibility for it, without the usual excuses.
I'm fine with it.

The game timer says 23 minutes, but I was there from the first swing of the sword and the battle only lasted 11 minutes for me.
Not bad time considering there was only 2 of us and I was alone for 2/3 of it....
I don't know if anything else was changed or not, but I noticed (wish I kept track) Scout had a huge number of 1000+ rounds (not counting the BoG round) as well. Probably a record for him.

What pi$$e$ me off about loosing the KB in this one is, I never had a chance.
On the way back in from resting, Scout ran into a run of 12 Tar Men!!
I think if the boss, in any MP battle, is below 15%, all of his little buddies should vanish!!
There's nothing more annoying than being stopped in the end by a bunch of low SP pains in the @$$!!!!
On a side note, Scout picked up 12 blobs of tar. I'm pretty sure that's a record for me in one battle......

Sympathies. (I never seem to get fewer than 14 in the last rounds, and was beginning to think it was only me, being so "lucky.")
It's on account of that annoyance - like a bunch of gnats suddenly swarming you when it counts the most - that I avoid Ulgror.
It's for that reason I didn't bother going to this MP event, even though I saw it was about to begin. (I aim for as many Tar Men on my way to the Sword Island crypt as I can, but these ones I find annoying, aggravating.)
I come for the MP boss, when visiting an MP event, not for 14-18 Tar Schmucks, 4-5 times or more, especially bad in the last rounds... I agree.
(Another thing: if you stay and fight, at the Tar Lake as in Tarramyre and Sageholt, you have to wait ~15 seconds before each round - but someone just arriving can jump right in for a quick round without that wait.
A bit odd, that too: you're penalised with delays for sticking with it, and rewarded with immediate access for "hit-and-runs" ...)
I can live and deal with these things, as with most annoyances and nagging, but if given a choice, I rather not. I don't see the point in nagging... about nagging. :-) At some point, I may conclude it's warranted on my part to stop suggesting, asking, and just turn my back, walk or stay away, if I tried hard enough before doing so. Cute. You haven't participated recently?!
Define "recent," please.
The above results are in chronological order, of the last couple of days. They weren't stored yet, the files were fresh, saved yesterday. That result was from yesterday or the day before, depending on the time zone. File save date on my laptop, with its time zone setting, is: 10 March 2012. (So, server date of the event would be either 10th, possibly 9th of March, 2012.)
That's just adorable. What are you trying to say, or start?
Perhaps the Beth character was acting on her own, of her own volition, without your participation? We should report this to MIT - we have a genuine AI acting independently!
(I can't believe this...)
Or does someone else have access to your account without your knowledge and consent?
If so, it should be verified. I will bring it to the GM's attention if you are reluctant to do so, because I think that could be a potentially serious issue.
As far as I could tell, the other two players were still participating as well.
I thought Beth maybe working towards levels 101... God knows, she needs AS&P experience...
In any case, congrats on the one-shot BOG KB - classic Beth/DonMoody. The master at work. I hope you make good use of the XP now (or as of yet stll) utterly useless to Beth. XD You may have deprived me or one of the other two participants of 128 AS&P and 256 GXP, am I correct? Good for you!
Hey, I use a BOG occasionally to close an event. Never thought of just saying "I wasn't there." What a strange tactic. Well, I can be a strange person - but you just took the cake and the cherry on top.
(Unless your account is truly compromised, in which case I suggest you advise the GM immediately, have him verify recent activity, and change passwords on both your Sryth account, and the email account tied to it, urgently!
Uncanny, though, that the tactic used was - coincidentally - against me, and that whoever did it, should use your own familiar tactic so efficiently and precisely.)
If you wanted to impress me: I am very impressed.
If you hoped to upset me: I am very upset.
Happy?
Now, unless there's a serious issue with your account, I suggest you go play with and harass someone else.
That includes your reps and rep comments, visitor messages, etc. I am not interested, and will neither return nor answer them. I am simply not interested any more in engaging with you on any level that I can think of at the moment (unless provoked), especially privately or semi-privately, via visitor messages, rep comments, or anything similar.
Simple as that: not interested, if that's acceptable. Thank you.
You may talk to anyone you wish about me, same as any other subject, of course, and on open forum you may address me or refer to me, obviously - you are free to do so within the usual and legal limits, same as I am - and in turn I may (or may not) respond to it, accordingly.
(And this time, I hope I made myself sufficiently clear. And simple. As you requested: "as clearly and simply as possible." Well, there you go.)
Now, play your game, blast and BOG away, perhaps I will too, perhaps I won't.
Or, as you seemed to have preferred it recently, in this same thread, I believe: "play ball." But it's good to know when to quit. (Or, perhaps you'll prefer it expressed as "know when to fold them.")
Again: you got a KB. Great - congrats. Good for you. Well done. But this thing about "I haven't participated in any MPs recently..." *scoff*
Please verify the security of your accounts (game and associated email, as I mentioned earlier), and contact the GM about recent activity on said account, if necessary, and if that is really the case.
That is your problem to deal with, not mine. But I will deal with it if I must, within my rights and abilities, or if you should require assistance in this matter, and if no one more capable than I is willing to help - which I doubt.

Until the end of the day, they were open files, unsaved, not yet stored. Now - today - they are stored. Yesterday, at day's end, they were named and saved.
I put each event into an individual file, then, at the end of the day, I name and save them according to location/boss. All the files above are from the 9th and 10th, current month, current year.
No process other than that, to speak of or explain.
If still confused, I don't see what about, or how I could possibly help you.
I'm more concerned about you saying you "haven't participated recently."
If "recently" includes the last couple of days, and you speak the truth, your account may be accessed by someone else, with or without your knowledge and consent.
Which is why I strongly and repeatedly suggested you reset your passwords, game and associated email address, advise the GM of the situation, and ask him to verify recent account activity from the server records and saves. Because if you are serious, you have an issue, your account may be compromised, hijacked... I don't rightly know what's going on at your end. The GM will be able to help verify account status and all activity, if there's an issue.
You seem to take that very casually... In fact you don't seem concerned at all, which makes me conclude it was you who logged in and played.
Can you confirm that?
Though, again, your account and its security is your responsibility, not mine, and honestly, I am really not all that interested in this, especially since you yourself don't seem to be, in the least. Nor do I have the amount of time, patience, or inclination you seem to require or expect from me.
You want to 'play ball?' Then play. I am not an admin, haven't assumed any duties, officially or voluntarily to look after you, answer your demands and question, etc. I'm not here to serve or service you personally, I am free, not bound to you, I paid to play the game, and I intend to do so. It seems to me plain that I can't give you what you need and seek, whatever that is.

I put each event into an individual file, ...This is the part that confuses me.
What do you mean by 'put each event'?
What is an 'event'?
How is it captured so it can be 'put'?
And how & just exactly where is it 'put'?
If "recently" includes the last couple of days, ...Recently would be 'immediately preceding the present' (i.e. I recently went to the 5pm mass; but tomorrow I would say 'yesterday I went to mass'; and for attending this morning, I would say 'I went to church today', not 'I went recently').
Yesterday would be yesterday, and thus I would not use the term recently.

Congrats, Scout!
Hmm... This is an interesting thread... OK, Don, I'll post this, hopefully it will answer your ques... Oh, who am I kidding... Hmm... Maybe I'll post this, then you might be on your own, because what the heck are we discussing? XD
One MP?!... It's ridiculous! XD Anyway, here it is (for now)... :-)
-----------
It's just what you see, more of or less - simply the text file displayed, as you see it, not the script or anything else.
So your "recently" doesn't include yesterday?! Cor! I never heard of such misinterpretation of the word.
having happened, begun, or been done not long ago; belonging to a past period comparatively close to the present
It was your choice for a word, not mine.
Now let me ask you something: if in your 'private' dictionary "recently" does not include yesterday - why did you not simply say "I participated in that event 'x' hours ago?" Well?
Because then it would be the end of the story, we'd all agree it was hours before the posting, probably, after I got back home, and then there would have been nothing (further) to discuss.
And since you obviously know when it happened, why ask me at all?
I asked you to go find another playmate.
Here are some synonymous expressions for "recently," from an Oxford thesaurus:
not long ago; a short time ago; in the past few days/weeks/months; a little while back; lately; latterly; etc.
End of discussion, then, no further explanation needed: when you said you did not participate in an MP event recently, you crossed your fingers and excluded everything but the few moments preceding the present.
I, however, will go by the commonly accepted interpretation of "recently," which is a word you chose, and which includes the time at wich you did participate in an MP, if only to do a one-shot BOG attack, taking it from all three of us present, even though the AS&P experience is completely useless to Beth Draedon.
Well, then, you had your answer from my first post, because I said clearly it did not happen a moment ago - and you clearly knew that to be the case.
If you're not denying that it happened within the last 24 to 48 hours or so, as of now, you're not denying it at all, so this is all absolutely pointless.
Why? Because more important than you saying it did happen within the last 24 to 48 hours - as it did - is the fact that it doesn't even matter, it's insignificantly petty, and I don't really care.
And I won't spend the next few days debating with you the meaning of "recently" or the saving of a rich text file.
What did I just say in my previous post?
What you want from me, I can't give to you - whatever it is.
I'm not interested to learn how you reinterpret "recently," or any other word - that's your personal linguistic Odyssey, no business of mine, really.
As far as me explaining and you understanding? I think someone else might be able to do a better job, so I'll leave it to them, whoever they may be. Try it. :-)
PS: I hope, at least, that I was able to explain the relative meaning of "recently," while asking a relevant question at the same time: if "recently," for you, means only the moment preceding the present, why did you pick it as the words to use? When you knew full well that was not the case? Why did you not ask "Was this today or from before server reset?"
Better yet: why ask at all, since you knew as well as I, along with the other two participants in that MP? That is a simple question, don't you agree?
Let me cut through your fuzzy Gordian knot: did you, or did you not participate in that MP on the 9th or 10th of March, 2012 (depending on your time zone)? And if you did, then what?...
What exactly are we supposed to be discussing, if you don't mind me asking? My posting habits? Well, you can just object to it, and be done. *shrug* How's that? Got any more of those Gordian knots? XD

It's just what you see, more of or less - simply the text file displayed, as you see it, not the script or anything else.I used to do that - manually selecting all, then copying, then pasting into another file.
What a chore.
Such a chore that I stopped unless I had a specific reason (e.g. documenting new content).
So Kudos (and 'Wow') to you if that is what you are doing every time a new screen pops up in Sryth.
So your "recently" doesn't include yesterday?! Cor! I never heard of such misinterpretation of the word.Unsure where you get your definitions from.
I always suggest the OED (for English anyways):
"occurring at a time immediately before the present"
is how I used the word.
Recent is the portion of the past that is closest to the present (unless one is taking geo-time, then holocene is 'recent').
Unsure why the 'part of the past closest to the present' would seem to not be the standard, common usage.
And I see no need to use 'recent' if one meant 'yesterday (after all, isn't that what the word 'yesterday' is for?).
But I am less interested in semantics discussion and more intrigued that you are continually copying and pasting.
Wow.
That is dedication to memorializing game play.
DonMoody
P.S. And no, I do not consider the OED my private dictionary [with or without air quotes].

(Well, after that title, I feel obligated to repeat: no, not really... Sorry for any disappointment that may have caused. XD :P)
All right, that's nice, thank you. The short answer... (Um... well... "Short" is a relative term... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)
Yes, doing the documenting manually - I use the timer tracking script, but refuse to give in to convenience beyond that, since that's the only one commonly available to all, and used, as well as approved. Soon there won't be a need for that one either. But no, I don't record every screen.
I love spontaneity and speed as much as I love pondering and taking the time to enjoy every slow second. (That statement context-dependent. :))
I refer to versions of the Oxford as well, when necessary, both online and in print (various editions). The adjective "recent" is sometimes interpreted slightly differently than the adverbial form "recently," which you used - they both can include the moment preceding the present, but never exclusively.
"Recent" and "recently" both have a much wider, less precise meaning than that, and every edition (online and in print) of the Oxford (~ English Dictionary, or OED) that I've checked agrees on that, so I all can think of, is that perhaps the reduced size of certain versions and editions force brevity, or the year of publication makes a difference to that extent.
Bottom line is: "recent" is a comparative term, relative, and ultimately imprecise.
The fact that "recent" is commonly paired with adverbial and other types of (sub-)modifiers ("not so recent(ly)," "fairly recent(ly)," "quite recent(ly)," "very recent(ly)," "most recent(ly)," etc.) is an indicative of that.
If "recent" and "recently" were an unambiguous, precise adjective and adverb, respectively, there would be no place for such modifiers.
(The adverbs "yesterday" and "today" are such, and they don't allow for those modifiers easily - we don't usually say things like: "most yesterday" or "quite today.")
As for "dedication" - again, thank you, but that's a big, grand, charged, solemn word. This documenting is simpler and more practical than what the word dedication would imply - it takes the place of saved games, in a way: in Sryth, you can't have batches of saves made at crucial points of the game.
Once you save your progress, there's no going back. Even with alts, or by quitting before saving and restarting a particular adventure, Sryth is a book where you can only turn a page forward, never back.
For me, that's a bit of a constraint to which I wasn't used (even in life, the ultimate living adventure without 'save points' and 'reloads,' you can often 'go back,' restart, renegotiate, retry; in most single-player offline games you're allowed a multitude of saves; in a book, I can turn pages every which way I want; in Sryth, your alter ego can go nowhere but forward, once your progress is saved), so I began recording, documenting, referencing.
Rather than dedication, probably "interest" would be a fitting word in my case: I am interested in Sryth, I do have an interest in it. :)
Now, keeping in mind that the above is my 'short' reply (!) :D - what follows is the longer one... Yeah... :)
Not one to be constantly consumed by grudges, content with keeping some distance a detachment, sometimes carefully maintaining indifference, when required, and The Power of the Shrug. XD
I'll go along, and let's do 'full disclosure' and 'exposé.' :)
Yes, doing it manually - using any scripts or cheats seems unsavoury when there's any multiplayer element to the game. I know Joddelle used them, and those things are convenient, but I don't.
I don't mind the effort it takes, and am generally able to take the annoying bits in stride, adapt to them while playing.
I enjoy the challenge and possess the speed to be able to deal with most things in the game as quickly and efficiently as possible.
I enjoy the adrenaline rush that comes from played the game with a sense of immediacy, acute awareness, speed, concentration, intuition.
Racing through a replayable in record time, for instance, can be akin to breaking the lap record of a race track: you memorise each corner, each rise, each bump - visible or felt - each curb, angle, every apex, breaking distances, cornering speeds, the optimal line to take even with changing conditions of weather, track, fading brakes, tire wear, etc., seeing without looking every landmark surrounding the track that helps you locate yourself and tells you what comes next, where, and what you need to do, or what are your possible options at any given moment.
In Sryth, those indicators are the links, their expected location, the linking/intermediate page sections, foe combat boxes - well, actually, everything, every detail everywhere, every visual clue seen almost without looking, aware of them even without/before seeing them.
You know what comes next, and where, before you get there, and eventually "hand-eye coordination" becomes a more intuitive "hand-mind coordination" - you begin to be able to predict what comes next, where, and your hand moves the cursor in the right place, anticipating the next randomly placed link before the fastest browser allows the page to change, before your eye ever sees what your mind and hand already know to be there. A race against yourself, focussing on speed, reaction times, economy and fluidity of motion.
It becomes a game within the game - probabilities, intuition, anticipation, awareness, fluidity, speed: an all-out challenge, if you make the most of it.
I do record most MPs' summary, but only significant or interesting occurrences in the damage display pane, and of my own rounds, generally only those that end in 1,300 SP worth of damage, or higher.
As for dictionary - I use various versions of the Oxford, mostly. Since OED normally stands for the Oxford English Dictionary, I don't know what to say. Maybe it's a matter of the year of publication, or the brevity of the particular edition in question. But even the free online Oxford gives a wider interpretation and more choices than that, so, again, not sure what to say.
There's a slight difference between the adjective "recent" and the adverb "recently" (latter is the one you used: "I haven't participated recently" [?]).
The bottom line: 'recent' and 'recently' can include the "very recent" and "most recent," the "just passed," but not exclusively.
Notice those expressions: if 'recent' was directly synonymous with 'latest,' 'only just occurred' - which is what you mean, it seems - there would be no place for the expressions: 'very recent' and 'most recent' (in themselves, depending on context, not necessarily meaning 'of this last moment just elapsed').
The fact alone, that "recent" is readily and frequently paired with adverbial and other types of modifiers (like the ones already mentioned, but even more of them: "fairly recent," "quite recent," and again, "very recent," "most recent," &c.) is an indicator of just how 'comparative,' how relative - and ultimately imprecise - a term "recent" really is.
As for dedication - I suppose that may or may not be a fair assessment: money, time, stubbornness, competitiveness and sharing, both, reading and pondering the stories and interactions, or speed-playing the replayables and multiplayer portions, setting mini goals - all that.
Since playing Sryth in my free (and sometimes not so free) time leaves me without any to spare for other games (dozens by now, never installed, most still wrapped), no time for much else, apart from reading and a film or show every so often, as Sryth almost fills the sedentary portion of my free time activities, I make the most of it, whenever I can. That includes recording as much as I can, on the fly. Not every game screen, no: quests, special events, obviously, seasonal gifts, unique content, but also results, including those of MPs, definitely. Still not everything, and I don't intend to, don't aim for that.
Also not too keen on playing with alts, so recording preserves a trace of where I've been and allows a return to it. What was insignificant and seemingly less relevant on first reading, may become central or essential at a later time - there can be a number of reasons for that.
Unlike in most single-player, offline games, you can't keep batches of saves made at crucial points, so once read, and passed, and you 'turn the page,' there's no going back after you save your progress.
So that 'dedication' - recording, documenting - in fact takes the place of 'saved games' - the 'saves' I'm used to having. Similar to how I scribble or type notes, reference quotes or passages, events, with source page information, which I then store inside the book read. Same as I make notes and sketches when an idea occurs about anything.
"Dedication" - well, that's a big word, charged. I think of it as something not quite so grand and noble - this is simpler and more practical: a way of referencing and saving.
"Interest" would be a more fitting word. :)

(That timer's off again by as much as 2x or possibly more - and it now worries me a bit, in relation to the timer trackers, though it shouldn't - these timers are most likely triggered by players visiting the MP event without engaging the boss, and that's something different. Well, since eventually all MP events will benefit from changes, this glitch may well be bypassed, no use bothering with it now, not that important.)
