This is a topic about ALL Runeskin adventures: the prelude scenarios, the main Silverwysp adventures, the reward scenario AND the new adventures (the first two are in Ashlyre; where the rest will be remains ti be seen).

The idea is to have a single topic instead of multiple ones, as that makes it hard to keep track of things.

Nice Idea! My advice on the reward scenario is to take (Necro, Illiusion, Arcana,) and three Eye runes. This is because (it) will help you through PV5 and general XP can be used on anything :).

Personally I always take 6 runes of the eye, because I think that getting more experience all around is more helpful than getting Shadow magic before PG V.

I got shadow from elm gnoll, I regret it slightly since I lost out on the exp from six eyes, I only learned later that it's a better deal to get it from PGV.

When I said "my advice" I meant "my dad's advice" What I actually did was take 2 each of Restro, Necro, and Elementalism. Boy, was I "dumb". Not dumb, just new. At least I got SM from PG5.

Contributing to the thread... Use Demonscourge on Xarakk unless your MR with you weapon of choice is high enough. (Almost for me! 6+ with SSL)

From another thread.
The value of the [Assassin's] bracelet itself is way higher than 8 AT, but:
1. It doesn't provide NvR boost.
2. It will probably be substituted by other items with time... The question is, how long will it take for that to happen?

Both are valid points. I gave the bracelet back. (And when he comes asking in a few weeks, Iakor's crown is probably the best choice.)

Currently, I wish that I had taken the wristband, because my epic battle circlet completely outmodes the crown.

But that's a raffle item. I said take the Crown because of other NON RAFFLE items.
Crown- yes, some raffle/Tallys items are better than this, but I can't think of any other better head gear (other than the warlord's helm, but that's a whole other disscution).
Cape- The Cloak of the Wanderer is better. (You get it through one of the adventures in your residance.)
Wristband- It's your choice between Emerald, Assains, and Iakors. I like the +5 NV that Emerald gives me.

If I had taken the Crown, then I could have some nice boots from Tallys, instead of Nightsong.

I agree with this. I liked being able to level up Shadow Magic to seventy before starting PG V. I recall there were some scenarios where your only choice for a magical power was Shadow Magic, and since you get it a bit later in the PG, you have to rely too much on luck. I'm one of those who uses magical powers at every opportunity because 1) it's fun, and 2) I hate random number rolls. Yes, there's the chance magic can fizzle, but it generally doesn't fail me at this point. Plus, if you get the power earlier, that's a bigger QS bonus.

Posting about the Mark of Valour in "The Catwalk" on the Roleplay board got me wondering if valour will be a part of any future Runeskin adventures whether the system itself is furthered along or not.

And if it is, will we be able to keep any valour we get. (or if the GM will give us the valour back that we lost).

While doing a little reconfiguring of Tallys gear recently I noticed that his Engraved Copper Band (+2MR/+2SP) at 24 ATs is darn close to Iakor's Bracelet (+3MR/+4SP) as well as the Assassin's Bracelet. Also, the Assassin's Bracelet (+3MR/+2SP) is worth 8 ATs in comparison to the inferior Engraved Copper Band's 24 AT cost.

With this in mind and the Cloak of the Wanderer available if one purchases one of Faradmyn's "estates" my personal choice of the Iakor items would be the crown - for now.

I like the Emerald Bracelet (+1SP/+5NR). But yes, the best choice for now is probably the helm.

I concur. The crown probably would be the best choice, assuming you don't have better headgear.

I grabbed the cape for my first character and wristbands for the other two. Kinda regretting the choices but at least my main character compensates through a bunch of ATs and raffle gear.

I also went with Shadow Magic, although that was before PG V was available. Not regretting that at all since Shadow Magic is probably my favorite power.

I hate your Battle Circlet. (Which means I'm sour because Alanne doesn't have one and Zm does. I don't mean anything bad by that statement.)

EDIT: Cape for Alanne. And PGV for SM.

I just really wish I had taken the wristband.

I took the wristband because I had the warlord helm...now I am not sure it was the best choice.

IDK why I took the Cape.

Before the Assassin's bracelet, and certainly before Tallys offered wristbands, the wristband was the best choice. It was the only choice you had besides the Emerald bracelet.

Then the cape became the best choice before the wayfarer's cape came out as a fringe benefit of your residence.

When the Grand Mantle Of Deceit cost only 108 AT, the Crown was simply a bonehead choice, and with the Mantle now at 156 AT, it's still nearly a must-have for the budget player. Heck, I even prefer Kozuron's Hood to the Crown.

That, to me, means that with new content the wristbands again become the best choice. +2 SP more than the Assassin's, and you get 8 AT to boot? Gimme, gimme.

A little off-topic, but do you know when it became 156 ATs? Since you mentioned that it was 108 ATs at one point, I do believe that I might have seen it at 108 before my hiatus. Altaria had the Grand Mantle of Deceit before I was gone for a while, and I didn't think I was able to scrape up 156 ATs at the time. :)

The GM upped the prices by 48 AT each of all the head-gear that initially came from the Master Collection Raffle during the Epic Battle Circlet raffle (which was fairly recent - maybe 3-4 months ago?)

Thanks for that info. I don't believe I was present during that raffle, so it was likely during my hiatus.

That raffle was announced back in June.

I remember when the headgear prices were tweaked because the Balladeer's Silver Stitched cap was what Hawk was wearing at the time and it was adjusted. Also if I remember correctly folks that returned any Tallys's pieces that were adjusted got the new adjusted price refunded not the original price.

I'll try later to necrothread the old forum for relevant posts.
