View Full Version : Small Things

Often in this forum we make suggestions for large sweeping changes to the Sryth universe, such as adding new battle systems, game dynamics or adventures.

I thought I’d add a thread where we can discuss smaller changes, the kind of things that seem (to my naïve mind) that they would be relatively easy for our illustrious GM to implement.

These occur to me all the time, but here’s just a few, I’ll add more later.

1. The ability to use gold to improve the description of your residence.

2. New conjured items for high levels of Conjuration. I think it would be cool if some of the most powerful items in the game could only be created with Legendary Conjuration.

3. Nevernal Reserve as a new category in the player rankings.

4. I think a higher drop rate on icons, especially bone icons, would be cool.

Anyone have more?

Excellent idea for a thread Zedalion and excellent ideas as well.

If I'm not mistaken improving our Grand Residences and NvR as part of the rankings were both mentioned by the GM. Guess they're on the "to do list". Using gold for renovating our residences is a good idea and would make an excellent gold sink.

I'd love to see Conjuration expanded just as you mention. And this is my opinion but I kinda doubt the GM intended for level 70 to be the max for conjured items. I wonder if that is because when he engineered its mechanics level 70 was considered to be a very long way off for characters.

A higher drop rate on icons would be a nice tweak that I would think would be easily implemented.

Great idea for a thread!

I'd like to see NV in the rankings as well. I'd also like MR and SP to have their own separate listings, like the skills and powers, so we could see who the truly big hitters are.

I don't know whether this counts as a 'small thing' - come to think of it, it's more on the lines of an 'infinitesimally small thing' - but I wish he'd fix the banner that says 'Your Nevernal Reserve total has been restored to full' in the Hall of Ghouls so that it matches the rest of the game design. It's just weird, having this constant reminder of what things used to look like.

Good points all Dooli. Especially separate MR and SP rankings in the Hall of Champions as well as overall skill and power ratings for that matter. I would think they would be even a 'smaller' thing than NR since they're already ranked and listed when you click your ranking from the in game stats screen. It should be just a matter of copying and moving them over.

Edit: Overlooked the obvious again. Of course the rankings from the stat screen only shows your ranking on those items (as well as gold). Unlike the others that are in the HoC you can't click them and be transported to the HoC rankings for that category. So maybe it's not as simple a matter as copying and moving them. Still I'd like to see them listed in the HoC.

I actually told him about that, but he never got around to it.

I told him about it too, when the design change first happened.

A very small thing that I would like added/changed would be the ability to Quick Combat the CHR.

I don't mind fighting him manually, but doing 4 back to back runs for well over a year now....

You get my point.

No offense, Scout, but that's one thing that I don't agree with improving. Quick Combat itself greatly decreased the overall time ratio of the game. There are so many things that have been put into the game that improve the speed at which we can zip through the game, and then get out.

Yeah, don't worry, I get where you're coming from, I've noticed that, too. I just don't think that we should be focusing on just zipping around Tysa. It decreases the value of the experience, in my opinion.

I'm with Scout on this one. I just don't get any enjoyment out of repeatedly clicking an attack button. I'm happy not to use QC when it's a new and tricky opponent, because at that point my brain's engaged and I'm thinking about the course of the battle, but when it comes to something like the CHR I'm not gaining anything from having to do it manually. My MR and SP are high enough now that I can always beat him without difficulty, so there's no strategy involved, just mindless clicking.

I see where you're coming from about not just 'zipping around Tysa', but there are two sides to it - if you can get the daily repeated 'tasks' out of the way quickly, then you have more time and energy to spend getting involved in other parts of the game.

True. Believe it or not, Dooli, I thought the very same thing about the two sides to it. This case, you're probably right, but I'm very cautious about suggestions regarding modifying the time-value ratio of the game.
