POSSIBLE SPOILER WARNING:

The following thread may reference other game content - some of it single or one run adventures.

The purpose of this thread is to identify and discuss other replayable xp opportunities that are connected to other content. Also normally these awards are minor (in comparison) and/or not random. For these reasons I thought to compile them in one thread so as to avoid cluttering this subforum. After I realized the grinding potential of Sword Island and Phak-Rur's "Pool of Muck" I thought this might be a helpful thread.

Also some of these are tied to first run content - hence "other" grinding.... Anyhoo some of them are contingent upon certain prerequisites.

Here's a list off the top of my head of other replayable opportunities. Feel free to add any I may have missed folks.

Like the "traditional" grinders the following encounters are on resets. Unlike the others there are no in-game timers for them and I'm unsure of the reset times. Some may have a random element to them or be contingent upon other things. If anyone knows the timer "status" feel free to chime in accordingly.

Note: The following encounters that are related to multiplayer scenarios do NOT require you to actually enter the mp or engage the boss.

Sword Island (3 separate "runs"). Upon arrival at the Island you will have to clear a random number of tar men before gaining entrance to the upper ruins. General xp is awarded. Once you have access to the lower ruins there are more tar men to clear out. After successfully clearing out these tar men the reward is 128 general xp/32 AS&P xp. Also passing through the portal will yield some lucrative combat xp awards for clearing it out. Note: You may not get all of them "reset" on a single visit and passing through the portal is based upon specific but repeatable tasks.
Phak-Rur's Ruins Pool of Muck. Clearing the undead from the pool will net some very nice general xp awards as well as 128 general/32 AS&P.
Redwolf of Sageholt/Talderus Redborn MP. Wolfkin encounters en route to the mp yield some moderate combat xp (dependent upon character stats) in addition to 64 general xp.
Ildraria/Copper Wood MP. Troll encounters en route to fight Ildraria award minor combat xp.
Tarramyre/Xarakk MP. Various encounters while en route to engage Xarakk. Also there's a chance for a skill/power xp award if one takes the path off the NE approach.
Graldok's Bazaar. A random occurring chance at a skill/power xp award for foiling an attempt on your life. Certain prerequisites have to be met before this event is triggered.
Not specific locations or encounters but this bears mentioning. At certain levels MR/SP will reduce some combat xp awards so some players will "nerf" or lower their MR and/or SP to take advantage of the higher awards. The following link should give folks an idea/starting point. Note: It should scroll to the starting post in the thread just give it time to do so. http://www.srythforum.com/showthread.php?p=19839

Unknown for sure but it appears the encounters at the Pool of Muck may get more challenging the more times it is ran. Definitely something to look for if you run it.

Edit2: Followed question answered. Just ran it and the awards are cumulative. Haven't noticed it getting harder though. But I've only still only ran it a handful of times at most with one character.

EDIT: Also I've got a question. And admittedly I should know this as I've ran it several times if you include my alts. However, I've not paid attention to my total xp and kept a running tab so to speak. Anyhoo, is the general xp award that is posted after defeating each ghoul cumulative or is it a running total? In case that isn't clear what I mean is the award (iirc) starts at 32 then each successive foe adds another 16 to that total. For example, the progression would be as follows. 32, 48, 64, 80.... If the combat ends at this point is the general award actually 80 or 224?

Thanks in advance.

The reward is cumulative....you get almost 900 general xp, counting the last 128 at the end.

Also, Phak-Rur, and the Seacliffs (And I don't know if the Ruins are an explorable, I haven't been there yet.) don't have their own thread, even though they are explorables. You might consider putting them here, as well.

Varkyn's Tower might also be considered, but it may have its own thread.

Fogbough rocks for grinding.

The windowless tower is on a timer, but you can really rack up the XP while exploring the wood in order to further yourself in the game to be able to do Heir to the Flame, etc.

Wow. Didn't know about the reward for clearing out the lower level of the tomb. Always just wandered around to reset the levers if necessary. Sheesh. I've been missing out. Thanks for the info.

This is less of an other and more of an "all", but has anyone else noticed that AS&P no longer displays in a different color from General rewards?

No I hadn't - nice catch. Way over my head here but I'm wondering if there's a "game wide" mechanic to certain rewards? 'Cause I'm thinking about the LoA's All Powers reward and the tweak to Tarn's Arch and now this.
