View Full Version : Minor addition to the MP's

A minor change I would like to see with the MP's.
Instead of a count down timer between rounds, I would rather have battles with the minions of whom ever we are fighting. Even if they are only 1XP each, it would be better than seeing 14 seconds, 10 seconds, etc.....
The time between rounds can stay the same, it would just be something to do other than waiting.
What do you think.

It depends. If it is a set amount or with a small amount of variation, I like that A LOT! It is so annoying to count down like that. Especially if I'm in big spammy mode.
If it is a large amount of variation... then no. The point of the timer, at least I think, is to make the MPs more fair.
A suggestion would be one enemy with reasonable SP (700-800) that you can't quick combat.

I was thinking along the lines of the Explore the Realms at Random types.
That way they are quick to defeat (3+ for everyone and 50 to 100 SP) so you don't get stuck over running the timer with something to hard.
Just a quick time killer that isn't boring....

Personally, I hate fighting Ulgror or Xarakk or whoever else when their little minions come up before I can face him, and I don't think I would like it even if they were there in place of of the 15 sec timer. I spend my 15 sec healing, and I get annoyed when something comes along and takes away my health (Those stupid tar men can take 1/4 of my health, and then I have to heal all over again). Maybe that's just me, I play a lot of XBox online, and I am used to a respawn timer (which is basically the same idea).

Long as it's not like those tar men en route to Ulgror - they always seem to show up when you're going for the KB. :rolleyes:
I like the idea plus it'd give a few combat xp and for lucky folks wielding the Hale or similar a chance to heal.

How about making it optional? You go one route, and you must fight the minions between each go at the big bad. You go the other one, and you must wait between rounds for unexplained reasons (BIG gaming handwave here - did anyone thought magic?).
I personally prefer timers to minions, but it's a meritory suggestion nonetheless, provided if you haven't used your timer, you find another enemy, so you can't "cut corners" by fighting the minions

I kind of like the idea as you run the risk of getting attritted some before facing the big daddy or big mama. You could also use Restoration before you go it after the minions, much like some of us do against Xarakk.
