I was talking to someone I know about melee damage and they told me that they can normally do 79 damage when rolling a 20 with aggressive. I do 39 at best doing the same and am curious if this increase is by weaponry skills, sub skill or by another means?
I've tried looking on the forums and the Wiki but I can't seem to find anything mentioning this.

First, welcome to the forum Nolly.
Are you talking about mp damage or damage everywhere?
I'm thinking from your mention of 39 damage your talking about mp battles.
If so this should explain the 39 damage at least.
From the GM Correspondence thread.
My latest communication to the GM and his speedy response:
Hello again_
As always_ thanks for everything that you do. It is much appreciated. I do have a question regarding the MPS battle damage a different character can do. I have noticed a lot on my primary character lately_ Spencer Lionking_ that during multi_player battles_ he almost never gets the bonus for an especially strong blow _i.e 83 points_ with a 20__ he almost always gets 39_ and as such_ my total for each round is a good bit lower than a lot of other players. Is there some randomness to all of this or am I just being especially unlucky?
Thanks in advance_
Spencer Lionking
Here is the response:
Hi, thanks as always for playing and for supporting Sryth!
In the multiplayer scenarios, using only melee attacks (no magical powers, etc.) will (after a certain number of consecutive rounds) allow for the chance of scoring major damage against the enemy. The consecutive rounds of melee attacks are carried over from fight to fight against the multiplayer enemies.
The current number to reach is 40 consecutive rounds of melee-only attacks. Once this number has been reached, you will have the chance to score the larger damage amounts as you will begin to spot openings in your enemy's defenses.
Once you've reached 40 consecutive rounds, you will always have the chance to score the larger damage amounts, until you use a magical power.
If a magical power is used in the multiplayer combats, you will need to fight 70 consecutive rounds of combat before you again have the chance to score the larger damage amounts.
Let me know if this helps, and if you have any questions or would like any additional info on anything. Let me know if you find your character able to score the larger damage totals.
As always, all the best, and thanks for supporting Sryth!
Which, of course, makes total sense. I was using Restoration intermittently and probably will not be doing that anymore. This may have been addressed previously, but it had been awhile if it had and hopefully this information will be helpful to someone else besides me.

Outside multiplayer the MAX normal melee damage is 39 - that is if you use an Aggressive attack, roll a 20, and the enemy is 3+ to hit. This does not include bonus damage from items.
In multiplayer the max melee damage is 83 - that is if you use an Aggressive attack, roll a 20, and the enemy is 3+ to hit.
If you use an Aggressive attack, roll a 19, and the enemy is 3+ to hit, the damage is 79 or 53 (seems to be random).
If you use an Aggressive attack, roll a 18, and the enemy is 3+ to hit, the damage is 75 or 50 (again, seems to be random).
If you roll 17 or less you do normal damage.
Again the above values do not include bonus damage from items.

Would you mind to elaborate a bit, Shadowblack? Have you ever tried that in a MP other than 3+ to hit? Are there any other game situations which deviate from the standard tables?

If the MP boss is more than 3+ to hit (such as 4+ to hit), then the damage is of course lower (though still higher than normal). However it has been a very long time since any of the bosses was anything other than 3+ for my main, so I don't remember the exact numbers. That's why I posted only the numbers I do remember.
I also don't remember the numbers for Normal and Defensive type of attacks, since I use only Aggressive against the bosses.
As far as I am aware the MPs are the only place in the game where melee damage can be different (higher) than the normal melee damage.

...and I just noticed that I got the same boni on my first round in two new battles after already defeating Tadeus/Urghburpor. So it seems it is carried over from one battle to another but not from one beast to the other. If it makes sense for ya. :)
Edit:
You managed to deal 1298 points of damage to Ildraria before you were forced to retreat.
I also noticed a trend of getting 83s in a row with the Battle Rage form Tarlaro's Elixirs.
