To bad his handler misplaced it back in the early days. :o

I've thought about asking the GM to fix the mistake, but I don't know if I should. It was my.... well you know.

I just sent the request.

We'll see tonight (after work) if Scout gets it back.

Well, it's been a while with no luck, so I just in-gamed the GM asking again if Scout could have it back.

Both Unarmed and Staves are and have been at level 99 for a while and could be put over the top at any time, so I need a good "free" axe to grind up Scout's Hacking from level 95.

There aren't to many good magical axes in the game that are free.....

Perhaps the next replayable will feature a cow, magic beans, beanstalk, magical harp, hen that lays golden eggs and a giant.

Then we'll have a fee-fi-fo-fum. :rolleyes:

And for a rep (gotta do something to compensate for the groan) what is the basis/origin of Jack and the Beanstalk and fee-fi-fo-fum. There's two possible answers for the latter and I'm not sure which was first and a quick Google was no help.

That seems so obvious you wonder why someone felt the need to make a saying about it. It's kind of like saying "come not between the steamroller and the street", or "come not between the nuclear missile and its target", isn't it? :)

Which was a reference to and a quote from Shakespeare's King Lear which is where the Fee-fi-fo-fum Fie, foh, and fum,
I smell the blood of a British man. may have originated although there's some mention of Jack the Giantkiller as well which of course is the basis for Jack and the Beanstalk.

Not sure what I think about that tbh Scout as you're on a great run and the longer it goes the more unlikely it is to ever be bettered.

I suppose its a commendable and courageous decision though. You're a bit like an undisputed heavyweight champion of the world who decides to bow out at his peak rather than wait for the day to come when its brought to an end for him.

However I can confirm that the Crimson Helmed Rider himself thinks its an excellent plan which is long overdue and hes been proposing something similar for quite some time.;)

If you're serious and contemplating a break (or even an end) that'd be a good strategy. And I like BC's comparing it to a champion going out on his own terms.

Although I doubt it, I wonder if anyone's in the rearview so to speak. I know Tex's run fell off, but I'm wondering about others. I know when I first started playing SB was running CHR daily and his run was in the 300's iirc when it got reset due to his account going in limbo for a few days.

But even if no one's drafting you, I'd hate to see such a tradition come to an end. But keep in mind that's coming from someone that very seldom strings two digit run numbers together.

I should mention that although my secondary string of runs ended involuntarily, I've found it rather liberating now having to worry about the CHR each day.

Although if I still had my string of runs going, I wouldn't notice (lol).

A courageous decision, and taking it at that moment (a milestone of sorts) will make it easier for you. I left my OGame account after getting my own Deathstar (which was, and had always been, my objective) and I haven't felt sorry since.

Ulric and Allura's special day....

While riding through the Longspur Downs on their way to meet with Scout at Seeker Castle, Ulric and Allura happened upon the Crimson-Helmed Rider.

The rider slowly approached the pair and then suddenly stopped when he recognized them and shook his head, mumbling to himself what sounded like, "Oh No, Not those two!!!".

Slowly, he raised both hands. Emblazoned upon his plated palm's is a bright red number '1095'.

The rider looks from Allura to Ulric then asks, "Haven't you two beaten me enough? It's been three long years, and still you come."

With a satisfied smile, Ulric looks over to Allura and say's, "Ladies first..."

Oh, boyo... And here I am, back in the teens again... :\ I barely ever make it into the 20s, then back I plop to 0, without fail...

(This is now an institution of sorts, with these relentless, never-faltering visits. It's like 'a fixed point in the universe,' the fulcrum needed to budge the planet. :-))
