I have an imbuable longsword. I have 1 wood icon attached the sword. I two other wood icons, however, I can't get them to attach to the sword. I go to a safe place, go to items and use the imbuable sword but the wood icons won't display to attach to the sword. I've tried clicking on an icon but a window discribing the attributes and info how to attach it to an imbuable item comes up. What am I doing wrong? How can I get the wooden icons to attach?

From the Wiki......
Once you have become a Disciple of Palk (see Lothren (http://sryth.wikia.com/wiki/Lothren)), icons can be found after any battle, and have to be identified first to use. These icons can then be used with special imbuable weapons and armour, which can only be found in Kyul-Thanor (http://sryth.wikia.com/wiki/Kyul-Thanor). Each piece of equipment can have three icons imbued, though only one of the icons can have a power (if the equipment is a weapon -- if it's armour, none of the icons can have a power). Icons can also be removed from imbuable items by Lothren (http://sryth.wikia.com/wiki/Lothren), who charges 64xp per item (not per icon). There are currently three types of icons: Wood (the most common), Iron, and Bone.
I hope this helps.

Simply put...
Weapons can be imbued with powers (demon fire, biting frost, etc). Weapons can only be imbued with 1 power icon.
Armour can be imbued with enhancements (+1 might, agility, etc). Armour can be imbued with up to 3 enhancement icons.
The wiki explanation is a little bit ambiguous.

Thanks Badstench for the help. This is a really good explaination and will help a lot as I find more icons. :)

The icons aren't really worth spending a lot of effort on, though. You can get by just fine with an SSL/Tzal Toalth/Iakor weapon, and if your stats are all at twenty, it's just a matter of focusing on the three major combat stats.

One of these days I'll take a deep breath and share my idea to change "imbuable" items into "upgradeable" items...
The main premise is to make it possible for players to customise weapons and armour and make them unique to individual characters using icons in a way that is far more useful than they are currently.

Well I've been wondering about this for some time so......
At one time (well before mine) in Sryth even items we now consider marginal in "power" were unheard of or at least the cream of the crop. Or at least from old posts (old forum) that seems to be the case.
At one time were the imbuable items at least competitive with the top-knotch gear - I'm guessing so.
Regardless, with the possibilities there it'd be nice to see them "upgraded". Of course, once the Kyul-Thanor "loose ends" are taken up again it may be that those imbuable items, tweaked or not, are essential - there at least.

Maybe. I wasn't around for you-know-who, so I still get Icons. I have a whole pot load.
