Ive defeated runeskin but dont get the selection of weapons or armor at the end of the scenario. All I get to choose from is six runes, and I cant tell what they do. The weapons Im referring to are the ones named in the Wiki - the crown, basher, shopper, etc. Anyone know what Im doing wrong here?

You're not doing anything wrong. Pick the runes, then go to Elm Gnoll. There you can put the runes to use and will also find the final scenario, which involves choosing a weapon and a piece of armor.
I believe the wiki has all the details on the runes, but if that is not so or something is not clear - just ask.

Welcome to the forum tjmango.
It's been awhile since I've ran that and interestingly enough it came up earlier in a discussion. Anyhoo.... I'm pretty sure that you have to go to Elm Gnoll and use the runes first. Then you get the weapons, in fact iirc it's another separate scenario from the ones with the runes. Also iirc you get the rune that you can use by itself during this last scenario/part.
EDIT: tjmango you may want to change you forum badge to show your AG status. Go to either User CP or Quick Links and then Edit Your Details. And I think I was ninja'd repeatedly in the earlier thread as well. Oh well.....

... Finally got Demonscourge, whew. Now the last is First of Six runes to choose b/4 going to Elm Gnoll. However, after searching the wiki... how does one make and educated guess at what will be most beneficial runes to acquire?
Secondly, what are the rune of the eye, rune of the hand??
How many points does each rune boost your characters MR/SP, Arcana... etc?
I want Syrius to be the strongest built character in both weapons and arcana. Especially slashing weapons. Hmmm... decisions, decisions... anyone have any thoughts about the matter?
Your thoughts will be greatly appreciated. Thanks once again! Airborne All the Way!!!:D

It's a personal choice - where do you want to gain extra xp? Eye gives general xp, Hand gives gold.
Details on the wiki at http://sryth.wikia.com/wiki/Runeskin#A_Dark_Chapter_Closes. There's a spoiler there which may be of interest, but bear in mind it's not the only way to achieve the reward it mentions, and many of us (including me) prefer another path...
If you'd like me to be less cryptic, about that last bit, let me know - or just do a wiki or forum search for the thing in question.

Have you searched the wiki? It's explained (http://sryth.wikia.com/wiki/Runeskin#A_Dark_Chapter_Closes). However, I'll cite:
"You can only select runes for skills you already have. Once in Elm Gnoll, placing one rune of a kind nets you 1024 xp; placing two runes of one kind nets 3072 xp; placing three runes of a kind nets 6144 xp. The runes should correspond with skills and powers in a fairly self-explanatory manner, with two exceptions: Rune of the Eye gives General XP, while Rune of the Hand gives gold. "
Since XP is harder to get than gold, and usually the most useful XP is General XP, you should select as many Runes of the Eye as you can get. If you want to devote to specific skills, select 3 (or 6) runes of the type of that skill.
The runes have no other effect, they just grant XP, one way or another (well, except for the "secret" but that's also on the wiki, and is usually considered better to reap the XP)
