's OK, it's random. And you can get more orbs from Tarn, it's not a one-time thing.

EDIT: Shadow, you ninja'd me! And I can't think of any other Idols (except the one in the old north woods, and that doesn't give any AS&P bonus).

After getting 256 to all (first one in a while) I waited for over an our before trying again. And I got another 356 to all. Either I didn't wait long enough, I'm unlucky and got the same reward, or the reward is simply fixed at some point and cannot be manipulated by Quiting without saving.

If I was the GM, I would fix the reward at the time that the first orb is collected. That ensures that no one would ever want to attempt to reroll.

Appereantly the reward from the Idol changes if you let it sit for long enough. Last night, I finished Tarn and got my 3rd orb (and the lowest reward), saved in Mirgspil, then went to Fang Ridge. I got 128. I thought that, since it's late at night and I got the lowest reward, I would quite W/o saving and try aging tomorrow. I got 256. Still not good, but it's better.

From what I remember, and the Wiki confirms it, random luck exploring...

If it's anything other than that, I don't know and the Wiki doesn't say.

I'm fairly sure it's a random luck thing. Had to go through it with one of my alts the other day when she finally picked up her third ever Tarn orb, and it did take a couple of exploration cycles to find the idol - though I can see going through more than 100 tries would get you down!
