View Full Version : Hey, whats the probability of rolling all 20's?

Hey, I'm making a new main character (just returning to sryth), and I want to wait till I roll all 20's. I noticed all the top characters have them, so I know its not impossible. I was just wondering, how long does it take? I know its all random, but if you have a character who has all 20's, could you tell me how long it took you.

Actually, characters don't start with all 20s (well, maybe a few do, but most don't bother). There are ways to permanently increase your bast stats in the game, so having a few 19s is not a big deal.
Oh, and remeber that when you're looking at the profile of a character you're seeing that character's stats modified by the bonuses of any equipment they have equipped. So if a character has (for example) 16 Agility and is wearing a ring that increases Agility by 4 when you look at that character's profile you will see him as having 20 Agility.

Welcome to the Forum Reakon.
Like Shadowblack says there are ways in game to increase stats for AG members. Also base stats are important as they can give bonuses to experience points. Boosting stats permanently affects that bonus but not temporary bonuses through gear.
Also the game docs (especially the playing tips), tips section in help on here and the wiki (especially the start up guides) are all helpful. Just be careful because the wiki and forum have spoiler potential although much (not all) of it is spoiler tagged.
Again welcome, good luck and enjoy! :)

Could you tell me what I would need to start with to get all base stats to 20 eventually?
I would very much apreciate it.

Would you say these stats are good enough to start with?
Melee Rating - 32
Stamina Points - 36
Might - 19
Agility - 15
Body - 20
Mind - 20
Spirt - 18
Aura - 20
Luck - 19

Not bad but Agility should be higher imo.
Also I keep the last best character I rolled until I roll a better new one. Provided I have an empty slot open of course.
For a free or non AG player there aren't any permanent boosts available. If you are or go AG there are several boosts available.
The following link is for the wiki page and in addition to what it says about max boosts which is from Tarlaro's Elixirs there are two other ways via quests/quest items to boost a stat. One boost is up to a 5 point increase and the other is up to a 2 point increase - 20 max. You can't choose the stats but by reloading until you get what you want you can "choose" the one you want.

Also in my opinion the recommendation system for rolling stats is not very good especially when xp bonuses are considered..
Also here's the wiki page on xp bonuses and the game docs breaks each skills stat down also. Powers are based on Aura, Mind and Spirit.
http://sryth.wikia.com/wiki/Xp_bonus
Edit: And while the increase in xp bonuses via boosts aren't retroactive you can often hold off leveling those skills/powers until you get the boost increasing the bonus. The exception to that is if you have use the xp to train levels to meet level requirements.

Those stats are fine. The character stat roller is pretty right-on with the power level.
You'll probably get all stats to 20 before you know it (it's one of the 1st things that happened with Rundum, and he had similar stats to this). The thing is, 20 is the cap, they don't go any higher than that, so after a while any bonus to anything except MR/SP/NV is useless...

...unless the GM ever decides to uncap stats.

Reakon, as OS said: keep that one as one of your two available characters, and try for another.
Roll until you get MR 32 and SP 36 - as well as 20s, 19s, along with one to three 18s for attributes.
Make sure your discount on training powers is 30%, if at all possible (and very possible it is).
Then save that second character, and if you wish - and have the patience! - delete the first one shown above, aiming even higher.
(If you subscribe, and become an AG member for less than $ 1.67/month, you'll have two additional character-slots available, for a total of four, with which to experiment.)
I hope this will all prove decisively helpful, should you still need the information. :)

He's so insightful that he had to post twice (lol).
It is good advice though. Still, as I've said before, I was unaware of all the bonuses when I started. Although I had decent stats overall, my might was only 16 and my spirit a miserable 12. Still, thanks to the GM's generosity (except in the area of might thus far), I've survived and thrived to have 30% in all things except weaponry at the moment. C'mon Mr. GM, where's my +1 permanent might elixir?

Am I Texla? Have I? (lol) The things I miss! Well, here a third one, for your enjoyment. :D Or, if it's only the second, we'll call it your self-fulfilling prophecy. :)

Whatever you choose to do, Reakon, will be fine - so the wisest who are all too aware of their own wisdom, say.
Ultimately, listen to the lawyer, he is right (lawyers always are - get used to it :)), those are good stats. Better are possible. If you've got the patience, roll. If not, that's alright: your character won't in any way be a burden to you. And should you ever subscribe, you can raise those stats as Texla keenly explained.
---
And GM, sir, will you give Texla his elixir and a feather to his cap?!

Judge Fury
Current overall rank: #6
Current stats: All 20
Starting stats: Abysmal (in fact, he had one at 12, and his highest was 19)
Comments: When Judge Fury started the game, he was a skinny runt of an adventurer who quickly learned there was no shame in running away from a fight. He persevered, found a few items that enhanced his stats, and promptly got killed numerous times regardless.
If there's any point to this, it's only in the old adage, "If at first you don't succeed, donate!"
