I have the strangest feeling that i used to play sryth in its beta stages years ago(maybe 8-10), however then it was a space adventure. however much of the beginner quests are the same, the layout is the same and the method of story telling is the same i think the name is similar although i have forgoten. I was hoping i could get a response from some one who is a vet or admin or something to tell me if this is right i just want to know, maybe my old account is still active :) who knows.

Welcome to Sryth, Dinggle! I hope you enjoy the game for a long, long time.

The best way to get an answer is to simply email the GM. He might have started Sryth, initially, as a space age game. I wouldn't know since my Sryth age is 5 years only.

either way its a great game and its a nostalgia trip as well as a new experiance so its great all round. i wish i could meet people on the way though, wouldnt mind some heroquest esk dungen crawling with others to offset my weaknesses and to share the good times.

We have our Multiplayer scenarios where different players can team up to beat up a baddie and get nice xp rewards, not items though. But tackling MP's will require some muscle. So, hit the adventures and get that Melee Rating and those Stamina Points up before hitting the MP circuit. Good luck!

As for camaraderie and the like while Sryth's mostly solo play the forum is not and the place to ask questions, pull up a chair and socialize, so on and so forth.

As for your specific question while I'm newer than the timeline you mention I don't recall any mention of it as anything other than a D and D fantasy themed rpg. Still asking the GM would be the surest way to answer that question.

While the forum's a valuable tool and community the wiki is also extremely helpful having resources ranging from character start up guides to detailed quest pages. Be advised that there is spoiler potential though.
