Can anyone tell me how I can get to this isle? I can't seem to find directions anywhere on how to get there.

You must have Completed PG I and all of Thane Pyrond's tasks. Oh, and the Ring of Illusion too.

Correct, it is. Or was when I last ran it with my secondaries. However, at one time completion of RoI was required.

It's the first 4 challenges. After you do the first 3 it unlocks the adventure A favour for Solundor. This adventure used to be one of the prerequisites to access Saarngard Isle. I am not sure if it still is or not.

it probably is, since in that adventure, Solundor shows you Thane Mazembak for the first time.

Completing the RoI was never a req for Saarngard.
Apparently, "A favour for Solundor" used to be, but is not currently a req. You need 4 levels of the RoI.
Well, it wasn't when I last tested about a month ago. But I admit to doing the Favor on all my recent restarts because, why not get the easy XP?

Ooops, that's what I meant to say - Favour for Solundor used to be a requirement and opens after 3 rounds of RoI. I'm not sure if this is just speculation or the GM has confirmed it but since Favour for Solundor closes and is unavailable once you complete the RoI failure to access it would lock you out of Saarngard as well.

I forgot to do A favour for Solundor a long time ago with another character but I was able to get on to Saarngard after I sent an email to the GM.

My current newb character just got the Saarngard Prequel Adventure after completing level 4 of the Ring of Illusion. She still hasn't done "A Favour for Solundor"
Thane Pyrond
* A Message to Mirgspil*
The Dragonhill Fields
* A Favour for Solundor*
---
And I just did the three prequel adventures and she is now standing in Saarngard Keep without doing "A Favour for Solundor"
I'm gonna go do that now, before I forget.

I did Favor. I don't think that I could access Pyrond's tasks before. (Alanne did it about 3-4 months ago, maybe even 5.)

As far as I know, Favour has never been a requirement for Saarngard. Level four of Ring of Illusion is the requirement. I know it wasn't a year ago, or six months ago (the last times I got this far on a reset before re-resetting)
I just wanted to confirm that it was not changed to be a requirement.

Don't think I saw this clarified here, so just in case:
The Ring of Illusion stuff is tied in, but the real key is Thane Pyrond. To find him and do his quests, go to Trithik, explore the eastern part of the city, go to Trynd Keep (if you haven't unlocked your residence here yet, you've missed a bunch of earlier stuff), and pay a visit to Thane Pyrond. He should have one of the "Adventures for this Location" links there.
He has a lot of quests that rev up to gaining access to Saarngard; some of them are traditional quests, others of them are just clicking through story text.
If, for some reason, you don't already have access to Trynd Keep or Pyrond not handing out jobs, make sure you've done your rounds through Trithik (and maybe Mirgspil as well) and have completed the available quests.

Yes, you have to 'be in good standing with Thane Pyrond' to get to Saarngard. This means completing all the "Tasks for Thane Pyrond" up to and including "Bog Giant."
You also have to complete PG-I, and the first four levels of the Ring of Illusion.
Once you've done all that - then Thane Pyrond has more tasks: Three short adventures that open up portal to the Island and make it available for play.

Level four of Ring of Illusion is the requirement.
I'm really, really sure that I never completed level 4 of RoI before doing Saarngard. I did through Level 3 and Favor for Solundor with all 3 of my characters. Is it possible it's either/or? Or just Level 3 (to be fair, I don't think I ever tried to do Saarngard without doing Favor for Solundor, so I can't eliminate that possibility)?

No, that's something else that I disproved with all three of my guys. I remember because I knew at the time that it conflicted with the wiki, and once I was sure I edited the wiki.

All I know is that I am absolutely positive that you don't have to do the Favour to get to Saarngard, but that you have to do (at least) three levels of Ring of Illusion.
I did four levels of Ring of Illusion today, did not do the Favour, and I got to the Isle.
EDIT: You don't have to do the Favour, but it is fair to say that you do have to unlock it.

I think at one time it was four levels that was required to open Favour. Either way, like Psychoadept I've opened Favour after 3 levels in RoI.
Also if I remember correctly completion of Favour was required for entry into Saarngard but since once one completes the RoI Favour is locked out I think the GM took out Favour as a pre-requisite.

I have completed the entire Ring of Illusion, I've done the favor for Solundor and I've completed past the Bog Giant for the Thane and either I am not going to the right place to get to the island or I am still missing something. I've read that you teleport from Trithik but I can't find where. When I talk to Thane Pyrond there are no options but to go to my residence or leave the keep. Where do I go to physical access the keep?

You need to complete ALL of Thane Pyrond's tasks. Also, have you completed PG I? That's also a requisite.

No.
To access Saarngard you need to complete Rounds 1-3 of the Ring of Illusion, PG-I, and all tasks for Thane Pyrond.
If you've done ALL of his tasks, then there should be a link to the portal chamber in your residence at Trynd Keep in Trithik.

If by residence, you mean your trithik residence, then there is not supposed to be a link to the final task in your residence, the link to the final task is in Thane Pyrond's chambers.

Not the residence that you had to pay for. Once you complete all the tasks for Thane Pyrond you will get a residence at Trynd Keep in Trithik. This is what you will see.
You're in your private quarters on the grounds of Trynd Keep.
A crackling fire blazes in a grand fireplace, casting its flickering light off a well-appointed sitting room, and several shelves of old books. A staircase winds about the wall of the tower and ascends through the ceiling to your sleeping quarters. Small windows on all sides of the tower look out across a wide, high-walled courtyard.
View the items and gold you have stored here...
Leave the grounds of Trynd Keep...
Stroll in the courtyard...
Visit the portal chamber...
Pay a visit to Thane Pyrond...
Examine the books on the shelves...
Relax in front of the fireplace...
Explore the realms at random...
What I listed in Bold is what you are looking for (it will not be listed in Bold on your game screen).

I don't have that yet, so I must not have finished all the Thane's quests yet. I do have a residence in his keep though.

From what you said, you finished Bog Giant. IIRC, you can't get the next quest (Message to Mirgspil) until you've finished Proving Grounds 1 AND three rounds of Solundor's Ring of Illusion. Since you've finished those, you should go check back with Thane Pyrond to see if that quest is now available.

Ok, I've reviewed the 'Message to Mirgspil and I am stuck in the middle by my best guess. I remember talking to the Thane and I believe I must have accepted the mission, but I don't have the 'Piece of Bound Parchment'. It is not in my inventory and its not in my room in the keep, my storage in the residence I bought or the residence in Durnsig.
I have gone back to the Thane and he gives me no options, I have gone to everyone and every place in Mirgspil and I can't do anything. I am totally at a loss.

Wetheril's info is spot on so I'm not sure what the problem is unless it is Message to Mirgspil. At one time Favour for Solundor was required for both access to Saarngard and Message to Mirgspil but was removed from both if I recall correctly.
You mention reviewing Message. Are you talking about reviewing it on the wiki, your adventure finder, adventure log or something else altoghether?
It shouldn't list on your log once you've completed it and I can't recall if it is one that shows on the log if you are in the process of doing it.
I'm still having trouble accessing the wiki currently to double check things.

See, I was wondering if Message to Mirgspil is the quest you purportedly "die" if you hand over the parchment to your pursuers. I've never done that myself, or tested that outcome. I agree with Oldschool--can you please clarify what you mean by "review" the quest?
I'm guessing (but not entirely positive) that you might have a hit an unfavorable outcome with that quest and somehow it ended up as a dead end. Since the Wiki isn't working properly, it's hard to go back and check the info to be sure.

Alright, I am able to access the Wiki page for it again. It is indeed the quest that says you'll get killed by your pursuers if you hand them the parchment. You don't get to keep the parchment (IIRC, even if you didn't lose it, the Thane takes it from you at the end of the quest); you can pick up a leatherbound journal in that quest though. Do you have that in your inventory? I'm not sure if that is needed for Saarngard, but none of my characters have missed getting the leatherbound journal.
If all else fails, I suggest e-mailing the GM.
