well...I guess it's nice to know that the best weapon available in Sryth isn't a slashing weapon anymore.

That hammer is sweet, as are the Greaves and the Shield.

I don't much like the hit to SP the other items give.

I would take them in a heartbeat...if they didn't require 70 Destruction. I don't have Destruction at all.

I have Destro 69 and time to get 5k XP:). I think I know how I'm going to reequip myself when I get to 70.

I'm almost at Dest 70, too. I'll get there in time to purchase the items, but not in enough time to "try before I buy".

What I'm wondering is if anyone with the Power level (and desire) will go test the items (especially the armours) against the Training Dummies to see if they have any special hidden powers (like the Nimble Boots, for example).

The results would go on the wiki, of course, with the first "informant" credited... :)

Meanwhile... off to Tarn!

Nevermind, just realized I can refund if I don't like, just like with the emerald rose collection. Doh!

I took the sword and greaves. I lost 2 SP and gained 11 NvR. Not a bad exchange considering the increasing importance of NvR in the battlegrounds and other adventures.

Hmmm, with the exception of the weapons all of the above mean a reduction to my SP. I agree that they would all boost NR but as I am down to 16 ATs they all mean a cost of approximately $100 to me. With car tax and MOT due at the end of the month I might have to pass on these :-( I am grumpy that there is now a better hammer than Skyrage too lol

Anything I tried (the 3 cheapest), cots me about 20 SP and gained 5 NvR. I'm keeping my current equipment.

I jut noticed, I have three powers @ 70 (Destro, Illusion, and Divi) because of Tallys gear (none of which I still wear).

Not to be a boor -- but 1 NV can easily restore 20 SP, or cause damage enough that you don't lose that 20 SP, or...

I think the Copper-Emblazoned Greaves is best piece of armour in this collection. You only lose 1 SP and gain 5 NvR.

and it costs a "mere" 204 AT, which I would have had if I hadn't won the raffle.

I'm trying to resist this temptation.

I've had my heart set on the Cloak of the Archmage for a while and only need another week or so to have saved the requisite dollars.

However, for the added expense of 72 AT's I can gain 10 NV at the cost of 3 SP. That's a tremptation I might succumb to.

I might have to wait an extra week or so before I can get that dratted cloak.

well, at least that's something you can look forward to if your brother's generosity lasts...

The sword is great. It has the stun power in addition to the extra damage. And it is better than Megnun's blade because it gives 10 NvR (6 base + 4 Phantom) at the cost of 1 SP!

But there is a bug that isn't adding the phantom armor NvR boost. And I've emailed the GM about it.

But there is a bug that isn't adding the phantom armor NvR boost. And I've emailed the GM about it.

Actually that bug affects any weapon and has been there since the phantom items went live according to the wiki. The weapon description will list the stats like the NR is boosted (at least on some weapons) but it won't actually translate over when you check your stats.

Hopefully your email will get the bug fixed especially since Trielra's Staff is "free".

Well I folded like a foldy thing and have bought the greaves. The fact that I exchanged my dragongem ones made it a bit cheaper. I get +2 MR and -1 SP but +5 NR so overall a good trade I think :-) I am still gutted that there is a better hammer than Skyrage out there now but hey ho :-)

OK, so I finally got my CE grieves. I also am testing the CE Hammer.

This data is taken from approximately 50 rounds with the red-caped training dummy in Tallys' yard.

The Unknown power * The Hammer discharges a powerful blast of negative Nevernal energy that momentarily stuns your foe...
* A strange hum fills the air as you swing the hammer at your foe
* Your enemy is unable to attack this round... Damage
The Hammer emits a loud hum as it unleashes a powerful energy attack that drains your foe's life force...

Enemy can lose 8-81! SP avg= about 20. (more testing needed, 10 occurrences tested)

Regular text: A strange hum fills the air as you swing the hammer at your foe

Stun rate:
1 round: 7 (once I stored a 20 and it cut out, another time I used Restro so that I wouldn't kill the dummy).
2 rounds: 3 (but I got a MR bonus from my Bashing on one of them.)
3 rounds: 1
4 rounds: 2

If you bought either of the weapons, please help me test the specials (I pay in Repp).

I had both specials kick in at the same time * The Hammer discharges a powerful blast of negative Nevernal energy that momentarily stuns your foe...
* You execute a stroke worthy of your Master level of mastery in Weaponry: Bashing...
@ +40 MR for this round.
* A strange hum fills the air as you swing the hammer at your foe
@ Enemy loses 9
* Your enemy is unable to attack this round...

This data is taken from approximately 50 rounds with the red-caped training dummy in Tallys' yard.

Regular attack: A strange hum fills the air as you slash at your foe

Unknown attack is the same as the Hammer * The Broadsword discharges a powerful blast of negative Nevernal energy that momentarily stuns your foe...
* Your enemy is unable to attack this round...

Damage: The Broadsword emits a loud hum as it unleashes a powerful energy attack that drains your foe's life force..
Enemy can lose 1(!)-125! SP (testing needed)

Stun data (my testing, help wanted, I pay in repp;)):
1 round: 7 (once kicked in on the death round)
2 rounds: 7 (once the dummy got killed on the third round)
3 rounds: 3 (it got cast again so I restarted the count)
4 rounds: 1
5 rounds: 2

Thingirl, the broadsword and hammer are the best in the game without me having much data to prove it. I just notice that it takes less rounds to kill off enemies with the CE Broadsword than with Megnun's Warblade. That's enough for me to go by .... less rounds to kill of an enemy = longer survival.

I wouldn't have enough AT to buy either weapon even if I sold off every Tally's item I have :(

Goblindoom or the The Shimmering Silver weapons can do that much on their rare special-specials. I'm gonna guess the Copper-Emblazoned items kick off their specials a bit more frequently.

Elrond

I was pleasantly surprised to see that 125 pts of extra damage. It was the first time I see that much damage from a magical weapon since I started playing Sryth a few years ago!

Joddelle

I've had Goblindoom do 109 in Yir-Tanon for sure. I saved it. It also seems to have more frequent specials than the Shimmering Silver weapons.

I just got 110 in extra damage in the bone hoard challenge. The best I got with my SSL in the past was 101 or 104 extra damage.

There is no doubt it's a better weapon than anything you can get for free. And rightly so :)
