I just finished the "Giants of Gallowtop" adventure. Trying each and every path took quite some time, but now I can update the wiki with some missing details (though I'll do that after I finish the last adventure).
I took the second most rewarding path, but since the difference between my path and the most rewarding one is just 16 Fortification experience I don't really care (especially since taking the other path requires failing a check that is 100+ to pass and I had bonus of 73, making it very difficult to fail). Also,
I ended up killing Dreymuk after I failed the rage check (97 when I needed 100), but in this particular case I don't really care.

Cool.
Remind me to rep you after I've spread some rep around, since apparently you were the last person I repped.

I managed to kill the giants only for the xp. But that had left me a bad bad taste in mouth for a long time. I really didn't want to kill them. Them same thing also happened in PGII, where I killed the reptile mage...

I too didn't want to kill them, but the experience was just too good to pass up.
I wish I had known about the experience for killing the reptilian mage in PG II. I didn't kill him because I wasn't sure I would be able to, and my Divination suggested that he's not lying. However if I had known about the reward I would definitely try to kill him.
As you can guess if the experience is worth it I will kill almost anyone.
I hope some day (soon) we get a follow-up where we find out what happened with the Dreadstones, and also get the items Tymbrak was holding. Of course, my main concern is with the Dreadstones, not the items... yes, that's right...

Your use of Divination has succeeded...
XP +8 You've been awarded a total of 8 Experience...
8 xp applied to Divination...
You sense Shadowblack is not telling the truth. In fact, he's willing to slay Tymbrak at anytime in order to lay his hands on Tymbrak's items.

The giants adventure is most frustrating with the 100+ rolls. Even if I manage to heal the bear, I can't seem to pass the rage check. I want to find out what happens when I manage it, but I'm getting tired of replaying and replaying and replaying... Course, I've been up since 4:00 this morning, so I suppose a lack of patience is forgiveable. If I ever do pass it, I'll pass along what happens. How does the spoiler tag work? I don't see the button in the quick reply box. Suppose it's another type of reply.

Thanks for the how-to on spoilers, thingirl. You would have a point added to your reputation if I had enough posts to give it to you. Speaking of spoilers, here's what happens if you pass the rage check.

SP +12 You've healed back 12 Stamina Point(s) from the combat.
You stare down at the battered, unconscious woodsman lying your feet and give in to the sudden and inexplicable urge to smile. Despite the overpowering sense of rage still coursing through your mind, you're glad that you were able to stay your hand -- and that Dreymuk will live to see another day.
As your senses become awash with a confusing mix of guilt and fear, you resolve to get away from Gallowtop Hill as quickly as possible -- and vow never to return.
After checking over your equipment, and making certain your three dreadstones are safely tucked away, you immediately set off to the south, following the road that will lead you back to Wildbriar.
Failed the restoration check, so want to try again at some point. and again... and again... if I have to. I mistrust these stones and want to keep my soul my own. Is anyone else reminded of Lord of the Rings with this magical item that once you get it, you can't bear to part with it?

What thingirl said, but there's also a "whisper balloon" at the far right of the lower line of buttons. That's the one for a spoiler.

I recommend you to kill the giants and not waste your time trying to pass the rage check. I know I didn't, and I don't regret it at all.
3072 XP for killing all three giants
Joddelle, the spoiler button shows only in the normal reply screen. In the Quick Reply area at the bottom of each thread it's not present, so you have to type the tags manually.
