Well I just want to know your opinion, if you think it matters at all...
Do you think the 5-min recharging time of Finger of Dread is necessary? I rarely use it because I don't like MP scenarios, but I found that every time I used it, I used it 3 times in a single battle (ex: stone troll, skargokk). Besides, you cannot recharge the finger untill you use it 3 times. If it is meant to be used in one battle, then the recharging time actually does little other than making us wait.
If the GM wants to limit its power, I would suggest that the finger cannot be used consecutively, i.e, something like 1 or 2 recharging turns.

I can edit the title of this thread if you want me to. If you want me to just let me know what yoy want the title to be.

So you're giving me the Dread Finger? Or are you?

Yeah I mean Finger of Dread, thanks Havoc.:p
Found 2 gems today (only 3 in total) but also stirred Skargokk 2 times. Can't believe that's a something-plus-70 check. I still needed 3 finger attacks in each battle. This is also why I want to get rid of the 5-min wait...

When I'm viewing the list of threads if I double-click next to the title I get to edit it. Is that mod-only, or is it available to everyone? Just curious...

It's mod only.
And, yes, I think 3-5 rounds (randomly, but it says how many rounds) would be good. And probably he would have to reduce the availability of bands too.

I'd rather wait 5 mins real time than 5 combat rounds. If I have to use the Finger more than once against the same enemy, then it is a pretty bad situation and the odds of me survivng 5 more rounds are rather slim... Especially against enemies with really strong specials, like the stone troll in Tarn...

You're right, maybe 1-2 rounds like Solitu said.

I also would rather wait the 5 minutes of real time, but not for the same reason as Shadowblack.
I almost never go to the MP's anymore, so when my finger is dead, I like to be able to fill it up in one battle. Sometimes I don't even finish that battle.

I don't even have a Finger of Dread. Just don't have the patience to collect the requisite weapons. I dislike MP battles. I think I get better exp from the single-player scenarios. Does anyone know if the drop rates for the weapons are any better? If so, I may consider heading to Tarramyre every once in a while.

The drop rates have increased dramatically since Tarramyre was first introduced. If you're lucky you can get all three weapons and all the bands in one battle and not necessarily one of the marathoners either. Two or three battles should probably do it for sure. Be advised, from my experience you'll have to do a bit of fighting before the drops start occuring.
Incidentally, the drops in Ildraria's lair seem to have followed suit. Also, I for one am definitely hoping that once whatever the Bowl of Blood's gems are needed for goes live that those drops increase likewise.

Personally, I think the Bowl of Blood gem increase is unlikely. Tarramyre and Ildraria's lair are different because getting those two items do not affect anything except your speed in getting a special item. On the other hand, to get gems more quickly, you have to get portals more quickly, and as a result, this will probably have a dramatic effect on the leaderboard.

If by earlier you mean on lower numbered levels that could be the case but I wouldn't think skipping the lower levels would help much in aiding your maximum level. Getting them at or near the end of one's "limit" would seem to help but considering the NR depletion that would seem chancy as well especially since one may have to use the quickstone heals to get that far. Granted it is a possibility that the GM may factor in however.
Personally, from my apparent ill fated random luck at finding the temple period I'd settle for an increase in temple "sightings" per number of runs ratio at any level.
Siderant: How random is consistent "ill fated luck" - lol.

As mentioned above, the drop rate is very high now. And oh... I guess you have no choice but to get the finger, because it is required in many important new quests. (unless you have something like 230 MR)

There were some post's in the old forum claiming that you could get all 3 weapons, assemble the finger and get at least 2 of the 3 onyx bands in 1 battle.
Personally, I have gotten all 3 onyx bands in as little as 6 rounds before. That is nice when that happens since I would rather not be there anyhow. I would rather run the solo stuff.

Just to add my two cents, I just picked up all three weapons, assembled the Finger and got two out of three bands in about 50% of a battle. Admittedly there were only two of us fighting for most of that time, but it's still not a bad drop rate.

If I remember correctly, I got all three weapons, assembled the Finger, and got 3 bands in one battle.

Eek! I have nowhere near that amount. It's a good thing the drop rate is finally reasonable, then.
Okay, I'll make the journey there. Thanks to everyone for their input.

Aye, forget what I said (except that you still need the finger and the wand) and check this (http://srythforum.com/showthread.php?p=2704#post2704).
