Is there anything useful to be gained by doing that? Because I don't see what it's for.

to the best of my knowledge, there's just one adventure where that's relevant

Jeez Psychoadept have pity on us memory deficit folks. ;) I recall that being the case and I'm vaguely thinking it may have been The Eye That Binds.
Either way, that reminds me. Has anyone ran "Eye..." recently? Remember the announcement regarding limited time increased rewards then the bug delay? I wondered then and am still wondering if the increased rewards may have got scrapped due to the bug.

it's not the eye that binds, I haven't completed any quests involving the streets yet, and I've already sold Tallys the amulet.

It's the Ashen Faces. The one you have to do to access Tarramyre.

Thanks and agreed but I'm still thinking there's some fairly recently released content that pertained to that as well.
I've been told that sometimes I think too much maybe this is one of those occasions. :o

...was it part of the Owlnook Tavern thing?

What Owlnook thing? Is there a quest associated with it?

From the old forum
4/19/09 - The Owlnook Tavern
For a small fee, some of the less reputable denizens to be found in the Owlnook Tavern in Gaddurug's End (visit the northern section of Trithik) may be able to offer Adventurers a worthy price for their valuable, unwanted gear...
Here is the associated thread off of the old forum as well.

Currently it's two ATs for access for one week. Also unless things have changed you'll only benefit if you sell unique items as Graldok and Tryndmoor were giving better prices for the better quality standard items.
Also you can access it in Trithik by 'exploring the northern part of the city' then visiting Gaddurug's End - although I'm not positive it's set up like that until after you explore the city streets for Owlnook or Owlnook Tavern.
Taleria I'm sure you're aware of this but a friendly word of warning to others that may not be. Be careful when selling unique items as when they are gone they are gone short of the GM intervention.

Well, on my new character, I recall wandering around and saw a link in northern Trithik to Gaddurug's End, and it does let me access Owlnook. I didn't have to explore specifically for it.
Thanks for the tip about it only being worth it for unique items. I know they're precious. I made the mistake of selling special quest-only weapons on Taleria and regretted it because I could get gold so easily in the long run. I also sold the items because I didn't think I'd need them anymore, which was also a grave error indeed. So now, I go by the rule that if I got it from a quest, it's not eligible for selling. The only exceptions are the common armor and weapons that have unique descriptions but are still not that unique. For example, longswords and leather boots.

If you sold something important, e-mail the GM and he'll probably restore it.

Eh, that feels like cheating. The only time I ever actually did that was because I'd missed out on one cloudy blue gemstone (Fullbrak) by picking the wrong option. At that time, I hadn't known that it's prudent to replay adventures or look them up on the wiki and I just accepted the results. But if I lost an item due to selling, it doesn't seem fair to ask for it again.

If it is a quest item and you can't finish an adventure because of selling it, then you have no choice.

True, and in such an instance, I wouldn't hesitate to grovel. :p Perhaps that's why Tzal-Toalth was made undroppable?

Actually, I just took it out of storage. I had the option of dropping it, and I could sell it at Mirgspil.
