Stuck in the Murk

Got the disk. Visited the trees. Put disk into trees in wrong order. Nothing happened. Game won't let me retry.

Any ideas?

You CAN retry as many times as necesary. Or so it was in the past. Could you explain what you mean by "Game won't let me retry"? You're the first person with this problem, so...

Like Shadowblack said, your the first this has happened to, so I don't know if this will help. Retreat at least one square then go back in. The correct order is: Ash, Oak, Maple

I put the disk into each tree's "slot" or whatever. Starting with Oak. When I put the disk in the third and final tree. Nothing happened.

When I return to that location, it tells me the trees are unique, but it no longer mentions that they have "slots" to put the disk in, or that I did it in the incorrect order.

I can't make any more attempts to put the disk into the trees in the correct order. The game isn't giving me that option.

I just visited the location again, and inspected the trees. It tells me "A closer examination of the three hardwoods reveals that each is devoid of even the slightest imperfection, save one. A disc-shaped depression exists at the base of each of the three trunks...."

Below that is "Please continue"

Please continue takes me back to the previous room.

And what happens if you use the disc instead of clicking "Please continue"?

You put the item (Bronze disc) to use.

The item has no special use here.
