Okay, so some of you may know I've recently begun a new character. She's currently on the hunt for the Nimble Boots. I'm going against conventional wisdom because I was intrigued by the post in the thread regarding Tallys' Copper-Emblazoned collection.

However, it would seem I'm creating a slot penalty for myself if I want the dodge ability all the time. My fear is that I regret this down the road.

Does the ability offset the seeming disadvantage of not wearing boots that increase both MR and SP? I want to be sure I'm making the right choice, since I have only one chance at this.

On a side note, I got lost in that maze again. Thankfully, the wiki has text directions, so I was able to start from the beginning and retrace my steps easily.

The nimble plate boots or the nimble ring are both fine choices. Recently, I've been holding out for Valkin's Trick Ring, but the Nimble items are solid alternatives that I feel won't regret taking.

I just got the leather boots. I'm pleased I can finally move on to playing again. I was expecting to wait days and instead, it's only been about five attempts. My first attempt actually got me the Nimble Ring, but I thought about the free rings in game and wanted to keep those slots for them. One time, I even got the helm, but thought I could get a Tallys item so passed.

Well, it's off to do more quests. :)

You won't be disappointed, Arken wasn't. I still refuse to get any of the MR boosting boots from Tallys as a replacement, if that tells you anything (especially since, next to shields & gloves, boots are the least expensive in regards to MR per AT).

Between dad and I, all four of thinman's characters took the Drageonwing Breastplate. My Ideal equip (excluding raffle items) would be Weapon: SSL
Armor (Head): Iakor's Crown (please don't argue in this thread)
Torso: Dragonwing Breastplate
Arms: Nightsong sleeves (from PG3) Or Dragongem sleeves if you have the ATs
Waist: Unmatched Plate/ Dragongem
Legs: Nightsong / Dragongem
Feet: Gold/ Platinum banded warboots
Shield: GIS
Neck: Snake's head medallion
Rings: Unequip
Runeskin's Ring
Ring Of Long Shadows
Ring Of Dark Valour
Band Of Gruljasa
Back: Cloak Of The Wanderer
Tabard: Rynduil's Crimson Tabard (mg)
Pendant: Cane-Shaped Pendant (cm) It's a long list, so I put it in spoiler tags.

My initial impression of the boots is that it's a good item. It helped a lot in "Stoneback Hill" when I'd roll low. Unfortunately, the dodge would sometimes trigger unnecessarily and I'd wish it had worked on the previous round. But that's the case with all magical equipment, really, so it's not really a fair complaint.

I would recommend this item as an alternative to the Dragonwing, even though it's a fabulous piece of "free" equipment. When the power goes off at the right time, it's a lifesaver. And who knows? Even if it goes off when you roll high, you might have just dodged a nasty special. I'm glad I took this item and thanks to whoever mentioned its greatness in the first place.
