Hmmm... The Dread Stones

Reading the forum I see mention of a dead finger which I assume is connected to the Dread Stones?

I have had in my possession all 3 stones for some while yet have not as yet sussed out what to do with them :o :( :confused: so they are just cluttering up my inventory along with the Black claw, Black Bone key, Bone Wand, Engraved Iron Bowl, Glittering Ice Shard, Jagged iron Shard, Serpants Skull, Silver Dragon Statue and the 3 Stone tablet fragments all of which I have failed to find a use for so far :(:confused:

Looks like I will have to find 4 more AT's to buy a residence to store this stuff as the one in the keep is already overflowing .................. Doh!!!! :rolleyes:

The dreadstones are NOT related in any way to the Finger of Dread. In fact, all the adventures related to the Dreadstones are already available. Since you already have all three go back to the Goblinclaw...

Ahhh thank you for that information :D I already knew about the Goblinclaw Inn part but was looking out for anything else linked with it before taking on the axeman there ;).

Also some of those items are "loose ends" and everyone's still waiting. Some aren't, however, including the Glittering Ice Shard, Jagged Iron Shard and Engraved Iron Bowl.

For the Jagged Iron Shard "rinse and repeat" till you have 10 of them. Talk to the Guildmaster about them or who you get them from also. Or here's is the wiki page, http://sryth.wikia.com/wiki/The_Copper_Wood

The Engraved Iron Bowl is currently ongoing. Continue to explore the area where you received it.

And the Finger of Dread is found while fighting Xarakk. There are drops of three items an I forget what they are called, but there is an axe, a sword, and a staff. Once you have all three weapons, take them to one of the paths in the Ruins, and you either put them on the table or give them to the skeletons. You get the bands the same way you get the weapons, from fighting Xarakk

Ahhh thanks for the tips! I gave up getting killed by Xarakk the demon until I had gained more MR and SP although I did explore and found the 3 skeletons sitting at the table.

Then stupidly it seems gave up exploring Longspur Downs as I never found anything interesting............... Doh! :o I had better get back to it. you answered a question i was thinking of asking later on. The ice troll cave as I see folks takling about it and the sheild you get from there but could not find it so was beginning to think it was a finished quest so to speak.

As for the iron Bowl............................... well that gigantic crawel keeps mullering me and I have to flee :o current MR is 105 (with SSL equipped) with SP of 124 and 23 NV.

Still cannot seem to get more than 160ish gold from Axepath .................. Doh! so no blade to be found :( Oh will keep at it.

The Longspur Downs is where you find the Crimson-Helmed Rider. You can only find him once per day. Here is a link to the Wiki where you can read more about him.

Xarakk becomes easy once you have the Demonscourge. It's found during the Runeskin Adventures (http://sryth.wikia.com/wiki/Runeskin).

Hmmmmm I must be doing something wrong as I have Demonscourge and the skill of Bashing at level 68 yet I achieved very poor results when I had another go at Xarakk earlier. I think the most damage to the demon that I manged was 128 points :o it was a very poor showing.

What is your "roll needed" with Demonscourge equipped? If it's high that may be the reason as you may not be consistently landing many hits.

Are doing the Xarakk MP battles just to get the Finger of Dread? I personally think the Finger is over rated. Once you get the finger it take a lot of general exp to level up. At this point you could put that exp to use on your skills and powers. The Wand of Dragonfire is a much better item to try and get. It does not need to ever be leveled up like the finger does, And there is nothing that you have to replace on the wand like with the finger.

Sorry for the late reply I was busy.

Against the demon I still need to roll 18+ :eek: and I don't know why. So for now I have given it up again until I finish other advetures/quests. As for the finger I am collecting as many useful things as I can. Just got Trielra's Staff so traded in Rotbane which has served me well and now I am off house buying :D or should I say residence? ;)

What's your MR with SSL (or whatever SS weapon you chose)? And is he 18+ when Demonscouge is at the top of your weapons list, yellow in color, and the diamond is green (A.K.A., equiped)?

If it helps you any, on my new character I recited the Lord's prayer continuously while going through Axepath, and subsequently I got 294 gold and a black-bladed longsword.

It never occured to me to pray ...:p whilst doing Axepath...........Doh!

As for my MR ratings well it's with :-

SSL = 105

Trielra's Staff = 95

The Demonscourge = 97

I am going to go to Tally's and have a look at what I can aquire to bump up my MR some more. Might need to swop my sheild for a better one? or change my breast plate. Currently have :-

Kingly Protector shield

Nightsong Breastplate.

I have 76 AT's right now so I will take a look and see.

Demonscourge against demon= 97 + 40= 137.

If you haven't done A Haunting in Durnsig, then you can get the Dragonwing Brestplate. And as for a shield... visit the Crimson Helmed Rider 7 days in a row and he'll tell you the location of Moonpath. Do Moonpath (scaled) 36 times and you get the Glittering Ice Shield.

Hmmmm well I have not, that I can recall that is, done the Haunting in Durnsig :confused: unless it's the one in the celler and the old ruined smithy which I thought I did do but I never saw any breastplate and cannot find anything in Durnsig now. I know I did that with my first run before young Peter restarted him for me :mad: Grrrrrrrr!

Ahhhh yes I did that one as it's the one with the giant Pumpkin. Just check a lesser Character that has not attempted it as yet but I never encounted the breastplate so I must have missed something ...................... or was just unlucky I guess. Plezier has done this adventure although it is not showing in the log for some reason.

Currently am equiped with the Nightsong Breastplate.

Not all adventures and quests will show up on the log. The prize at the end of the adventure changes like every 90 minutes (I think it is). Almost all the prizes from this adventure are pretty good. There are several weapons and a few pieces of armour.

Oh dear now you have got me thinking :eek: and I have no idea what my reward for that adventure was.................. sad to say that but it's true. Oh well I shall just keep plugging away at the game. Don't have many of " The Proving Grounds Adventures " Silver Crest ones as that's all I have left now.

Make sure you get Teek's axe out of the stump before you start PG V other wise you will not be able to visit Teek's shop and have ID the axe for you.

Somehow I don't recall that one :o and as for starting PGV :confused: Hmmm well I am at " The Eyes of Death " which is only 8 from the end having completed 19 scenerios of PGV. So looks like I am stuffed about the Axe does it not?

You find it in the city of Trithik when you click on the Have a random encounter. There are a few things that you will find their by doing the random encounters. Just so you know PG V can get very hard once you get past where you are now if your MR is not that high. Also it helps to have a high SP.

You find an axe in a stump in Trithik Random encounters. Once you get it out (Telekinesis level 40) you find it's an Ornate Iron Axe Once Teek identifies it, it becomes The Axe of Bramble. And if Teek is already gone, then you'll just have to hope with me that he'll identify it for us when he completes the Bowl of Blood.

Cheers for that but I was aware of it as I had completed all the PG's before the re-start :( and I never had the SSL then only the Howling Wolf Blade from Tally's and the Hale Blade. Neither which I have had this time round as I went with Rotbane from Tally's. Hopefully with the SSL and the better armour I have this time should prove a help in completing PGV.
