I have discovered a bug related to an item found in Fogburgh that the GM may not be aware of.

This bug offers players an opportunity to abuse the game system.

I have seen a few posts which mention the anomoly, but it wasn't discussed as a bug.

I am emailing the GM. I could be wrong, but it's better to keep knowledge of this bug under wraps for now. If you think you know what I'm referring to, please don't use the bug to your advantage; there is a certain part of the game that can be thrown into disarray.

Thanks

I believe this has now been fixed. Assuming we're all talking about the same thing, that is...

Yeah I just tested it and it's fixed. I thought that was a bug and actually reported it when I reported the shimmering pool MR combat bug.The GM might have overlooked it as I stuck it in as an afterthought since at the time I hadn't yet found the 'shrooms and was going off forum posts. Or he just didn't mention it in his reply sticking to the pool's MR issue which it seems was being fixed as I was sending the report.

I posted the report and reply in Fogbough and the Bug threads for anyone interested and will have to re-edit that reference back in since it's fixed (I edited it out for obvious reasons).

Either way I thought it unintentional (much like the free SP heal that was fixed) and am glad it's fixed - mucho potential for abuse.

Kudos to Badstench and anyone else who reported it.

Edit: On re-editing my vague mention of the bug it's very possible the GM overlooked it as it was a very brief and even more vague reference.

See what happens when I try to be brief with my posts - gotta remember not to do that. ;)

Wonder how may eye-rolls that comment elicited.

It was fixed for Rhia, and now it's gone wrong again. Seems to have been triggered the second time by her first encounter with the mushrooms, even though it was her MR that was affected. I've sent another bug report in.

Message from the gm

Hi, thanks for the report. The bug has been fixed.

Please let me know if you encounter
it again.

I'll take a look at the battlegrounds logs to see if there are any adjustmentsthat need to be made.

Thanks again for the report! All the best, gamemaster@sryth.com

If problems still persist, turn widdershins and repeat, "Wherefor art thou gm?"

Dooli... you turning yet?... please post reports as individual cases now.

Thanks all

Hooray for rotating chairs. You never know when they'll come in useful.

I'll post when I get a reply.

(PS 'Wherefore' means 'why'. But of course you knew that. [/pedantry])

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG GHHHHHH,

A sympathetic proxy argh for the GM as I can only imagine what he must be going through.

Betcha he won't be eating any mushrooms anytime soon.

Seriously, hats off to the GM for his accessibility and devotion to the issue.

The bug (for SP at least) is now fixed.

Message I got back from the GM just a few minutes ago.

Hi, thanks again for the report! I found the issue and I believe it should now be fixed. Please let me know if you encounter it again or encounter it in a different manner, etc. I'll wait to hear back from you on it. All the best and thanks again! gamemaster@sryth.com

Not knowing where else to add this, I add it here. I was using a test character (Vanguisher) to gather data for the wiki when I noticed a peculiarity with his leg armor. I took a screenshot and sent it to the GM. He has two different leg armors equipped - and got the SP bonus for both! When I unequipped one, I couldn't re-equip both again. I wonder how it got double equipped in the first place...

What were they, Maskull?

In all my Sryth Adventuring days, I have never encountered a bug. (Well...okay, that's not true. I have the Phantom Weapon equipped to my SSL, but it says "Phantom Limbs." When I equip a different weapon, it's normal. Only my SSL does that.)

I also haven't taken the time to go into Fogbough much, so I haven't seen this.

Sorry, haven't been around much lately so didn't see this. I can't remember what they were since I deleted the screenshot. However, I got an email from the GM saying he fixed the bug and that he's unsure as to how it could have happened. I said gremlins did it, wouldn't you?

If they were Nightsong and Dragongem, I'd have been sorely tempted to live with the glitch and not report it.

@ Joddelle: me too, but that would be cheeting.
@ Maskull: 's Ok. Oh, and not gremlins, but goblins.

Thanks for the new word Thingirl! Even dictionary.com doesn't have it listed! :p

"Cheeting" is the way to be dishonest in a game... but do it really fast!

As in "Cheetah"?

Gah! I was searching Fougbough forest when I found the tangled maze and decided to search it. I get to the first group of thorns, and roll to see if I get past them (I have a 68 mod to my roll, and the check is 75, so I'm confident). I fail the first one by 5, and the second by 4, when suddenly the game quits me out. Lost all my unsaved stuff that I had gotten before... Very sad. But it was probably only about 1500 gold worth of stuff anyways XD.

(Reported it to the GM)

The game "quit you out"? What, you were fighting a monster and it suddenly acted like you had hit quit and then quit now. That is a bug, hope it's just happening to that character. That could me magor.

I was rolling a throw to get out of some thorns and vines, and after I failed twice the game just acted as if I had hit the quit button and then the 'yes, quit now' button. It was... Weird. XD.
