One Sunny Morning (Spoilers alert)

So I just did the quest and got whooped by ol' Rokky. Is there an MR that allows me to face him and win? I doubt there is XD. I used Shadow Magic and Divination on him in an attempt to lower the MR.

Was just wondering what others know about it. (Checked the wiki, but all it did was have a link to the old forum, and I would rather not create a new account if possible! Plus, wouldn't it be best to have all the info on the newer forum? ^_^)

Yes, some people had an MR high enough to make him something other than an 18+. The rest of us used the Finger and/or Wand, +Quickstone healing and some luck (and maybe some Quickstone 20s). So it is possible to beat him.

Are the rewards anything special if you win? I'm wondering if I should quit without saving XD.

Most of us beat him just for the bragging rights and the satisfaction. Unfortunately I can't check the rewards right now. I seem to recall there was a bit of experience as a reward, but I'm not really sure...

The end reward for defeating him is 512 general xp.

The short revised info is he is 18+ at MR 185, 12+ at MR 197, 7+ at MR 204 and 3+ at MR 211 and higher.



The Divination/ShadowMagic combo was what worked for me but that's MR and level dependent. Also don't overlook the possibiltiy of Fortification. Also if the combo isn't lowering it go with a non-resistable offensive power.

The Finger and Wand can even out the odds for sure. Since I didn't use them for my own personal reasons here is my shameful/less brag.... courtesy of a little necrothreading off the old forum.

Finally after my quickstone reset giving me both heals I beat him, using a tactically applied combination of Divination, Shadowmagic, three stored 20's, 3 BoP's and a generous helping of luck. I didn't use a Dragonfire blast or any Finger of Dread charges. Although I did run it once and flattened him with a one two punch using both I abandoned it. I'm guessing it's either a bug or oversight of the GM since the only combat option is to subdue him and you can't use any offensive powers during those combats. Plus, personally that takes the fun out of it for me. Only since it was a subdue however, otherwise I'd have fried his arse then given him the ole one finger salute for keeps. http://s1.images.proboards.com/grin.gif

Considering his past and present behavior I'm a bit skeptical of his reformation, but it seems we'll get a chance to see for ourselves.


He was 18+ with MR 152 and even with Shadowmagic and the Medallion of Phase Form cycling I couldn't get him below it. The combination of Divination and Shadowmagic when both had good results would lower it a bit however. I tried Fortification in the mix but didn't get anywhere.


Here's the first page of text after you beat him. The xp reward is 512 to general. The real reward is bragging rights and personal satisfaction as far as I'm concerned.

I guess :rolleyes: as I just took a spread selection off the table as my math skills are less than spectacular. On a Srythian scale at best Journeyman status and that might have some artistic license thrown in.
