Tallys's 'Epic Battle Circlets' Raffle
The winners have been drawn for Tallys's 'Epic Battle Circlets' raffle!

A total of seven lucky adventurers will later today be able to select which of the four circlets he or she would like to take possession of.

To check to see if you won one of the prizes and to receive your Adventurer Tokens refund, please visit the "windowless building with a blue door" in Hawklor, Talinus, or Trithik later this afternoon (6/29).

Look for some new additions to the Lords of Ogredom battlegrounds event to arrive tonight (6/29).

The Proving Grounds Continues
The latest scenario in the current Proving Grounds adventure (The Alder Throne) is entitled "The Ghost Patrol" and it's expected to be available on Thursday (7/2).

7/6/09 - Adventurers, Test Your Might!

Beginning later tomorrow (7/7) adventurers will be able to register and take part in the Stone Hurl Challenge, set to take place in Zumryn's famous battlegrounds.

This special event will run from Tuesday, July 7th through Sunday, July 12th.

Competitors will attempt to hurl a massive stone (dubbed 'The Breaker' by Zumryn) as far as they can across a measured and marked stretch of ground.

The difficulty of this challenge is great, but so are the rewards!

The top four finishers will win prizes of 64, 48, 32, and 24 Adventurer Tokens, respectively.

Adventurers seeking to participate in this special event will be required to pass a basic test of strength (and part with a small quantity of gold) before being allowed to register.

This special challenge is exclusively available to Adventurers Guild subscribers.

Welcome to the very first edition of the Sryth Newsletter! We hope that this email publication will serve as a source of news and information relating to Sryth -- and that you'll find one or two useful tidbits tucked away in the rambling to follow.

** ZUMRYN'S BATTLEGROUNDS **
Be sure to pay a visit to Zumryn's famous Battlegrounds on Iron Crown Isle in Barrow Loch. The first two battlegrounds scenarios (The Bone Horde Challenge and The Lords of Ogredom) are already live and are testing the mettle of Sryth's bravest adventurers.

** THE STONE HURL CHALLENGE **
While at the battlegrounds, you'll also want to investigate 'The Stone Hurl Challenge', a special contest available through July 12th. Zumryn is offering a generous reward of Adventurer Tokens to the top finishers and there are rumours abound about a secret prize...

To reach Iron Crown Isle and experience the battlegrounds, travel to Barrow Loch in Southeast Tysa and visit the town of Westmere.

7/10/09 - The Latest Updates
The Silent Temple
Look for 'The Silent Temple', the lair of Skargokk, immortal servant of Joloreth, to be available starting tomorrow (7/11).

Adventurers in possession of the Bowl of Blood (and the Blood-Red Stone Key) will be able to find this special location while battling through the 'Lords of Ogredom' challenge in Zumryn's famous battlegrounds.

Tallys's Copper Tokens
Be sure to pay a visit to Tallys in Blade Square in Trithik. For a limited time, the retired master adventurer will be handing out special copper tokens. Possessing one of these tokens will entitle an adventurer to a substantial discount on the Tome of Attainment -- a legendary artifact that Tallys will soon be offering for sale.

7/13/09 - The Stone Hurl Challenge - Prizes
The final results for the Stone Hurl Challenge have been posted and the prizes for those adventurers finishing in one of the top four spots are now available. 7/14/09 - Tallys's Copper Tokens - Last Day
Today (7/14) is the last day adventurers can acquire one of Tallys's special copper tokens. Possessing a token will entitle an adventurer to a substantial discount on a magnificent artifact that Tallys will soon be making available for purchase -- The Tome of Attainment.

To acquire one of these special copper tokens, please pay a visit to Blade Square in Trithik -- before it's too late!

7/14/09 - Fogbough Forest - The Outer Wood
The outer wood region of Fogbough Forest is expected to be made available for play on Tuesday, July 21st. When it goes live, Fogbough's outer wood will be the largest of the explorable areas currently available -- and easily among the most dangerous.

Apart from the numerous perils to which the forest is home, the cursed wood has recently become the refuge of the renegade sorcress, Koro-Tul, and her sinister army of Oakaruk.

The secrets hidden in the misty depths of the forbidden wood have long been sought by some of the most illustrious and accomplished adventurers the world of Sryth has ever known. For many of these brave souls, Fogbough proved to be their most daring excursion -- and also their last.

7/16/09 - Trielra's Staff
Many thanks to the adventurers who pointed out some issues and inconsistencies with regard to Trielra's Staff.

The staff has been modified to correct these issues and is once again a one-handed weapon.

The statistics of the staff have also been altered (for the better).

If your character currently has the staff equipped, you may need to first unequip it and then equip it again to be certain you're using the latest version of the weapon.

And, as a final note, please be careful using the staff. It was, after all, the property of a demoness who was in the service of Sryth's favourite immortal ogre.

7/16/09 - The Copper-Emblazoned Collection
Beginning today (7/16) and continuing through July 24th, Tallys will be making available his grand 'Copper-Emblazoned' collection at his trading post just outside of Trithik.

This incredible collection of items, bequeathed to Tallys by his long-time friend, and fellow adventurer, Grimhand, is not to be missed!

As with the many other splendid items available at Tallys's Trading Post, adventurers in possession of one of the grand Copper-Emblazoned pieces, may return it to Tallys at any time for a full refund of Adventurer Tokens -- even after July 24th.

7/20/09 - The Latest Updates
Fogbough Forest
The release of Fogbough Forest (the outer wood), tentatively set for Tuesday, July 21, will be delayed a couple of days as more testing of the explorable area is required.

A Contest of Bows
Zumryn's famous battlegrounds will soon play host to a grand archery tournament. More details soon.

The Battlegrounds Contests
Speaking of the battlegrounds, a special thanks to all the adventurers who have sent in suggestions and feedback related to Zumryn's challenges.

In response to some of the issues raised by those adventurers experienced with tackling the challenges, the chance for success while attempting to acquire some of the special bonuses (the healing orbs, etc.) have been improved.

If an adventurer has earned the right to begin a battlegrounds challenge at a higher level, he or she will now have a choice -- to start at the higher level or to start at level one.

And, don't forget to keep a close eye on the wind that blows through the high-walled courtyard of Zumryn's red stone keep.

7/24/09 - One Last Chance

7/27/09 - Fogbough Forest
After a delay for testing and additions, the newest and largest explorable area, Fogbough Forest, will go live on Friday (7/31).

Soon after Fogbough's release, a special adventure involving the cursed forest - 'The Heir to The Flame' - will be available.

Thanks to all of Sryth's brave adventurers for their patience as we continue to work to prepare this latest expansion for play.

8/2/09 - Fogbough Forest - Updates

Thanks to all the adventurers who have provided feedback and bug reports on the new explorable area. The detailed reports have helped immensely in tracking down some persistent glitches!

The issues invovling the special bonuses that can be obtained while exploring Fogbough (http://javascript%3Cb%3E%3C/b%3E:OpenInfoWindow%28%27fogbough%27%29;), particularly those bonuses that affect Stamina Points and Nevernal Reserve, have been fixed. If anyone discovers otherwise, please send a detailed report to gamemaster@sryth.com.

There was another issue invovling access to the "Windowless Tower", that caused some adventurers to be locked out of the tower. This issue has also been fixed.

The Silver Crest Reborn
Having returned from your exploration of Fogbough Forest, you learn that Teek, while on a mission to recover one of the last gems for the Bowl of Blood, has disappeared somewhere in the foggy vastness of the cursed wood.

When Idriskkar goes off in search of Teek and also vanishes, you have no choice but to venture back into the forest to find them -- if indeed they've managed to survive the perils of Fogbough.

The Tome of Attainment
Tallys will soon be offering this grand tome for sale. It is an item that no adventurer will want to be without!

An Archery Tournament at Zumryn's Battlegrounds
The competition will be fierce, and the prizes will be grand, in the first-ever tournament of archery to be held at Zumryn's Battlegrounds.

'Heir to The Flame'
This special Fogbough-related adventure begins in Trithik, but will quickly lead you into the depths of the misty wood, as you undertake a perilous mission to secure the ancient abode of the last in a long and nearly-forgotten line of forest stewards.

The Proving Grounds: 'A Seer in Shadow'
A terrifying truth is revealed as events begin to move toward a perilous confrontation with the enemy.

8/6/09 - The Silver Crest Reborn
Tomorrow evening (8/7), adventurers will have the chance to complete the legendary artifact of ogredeom known as the Bowl of Blood.

Having just returned from exploring Fogbough Forest, you learn that Teek, while on a mission to recover one of the last gems for the Bowl of Blood, has disappeared somewhere in the foggy vastness of the cursed wood.

8/12/09 - Gamemaster on "Perilous" Mission
Your humble Gamemaster will be embarking upon a "perilous" mission that will take him out of town -- er, that is, "into the wilds" -- for a couple of days and will return on Friday (8/14).

Look for more updates, including new additions to Fogbough Forest, soon after my return.

Please take care, and by all means, stay out spider trolls caves and other such dangerous places!

The Travelling map of Tysa has changed in the last days, although I can't pinpoint the time it changed.

Now each of the points of the compass has a link to Central Tysa, and from Central Tysa you can get to the eight main sections.

8/19/09 - A Tournament of Bows
A grand archery contest is nearly set to begin at Zumryn's famous Battlegrounds on Iron Crown Isle.

Beginning tomorrow evening (8/20), adventurers skilled in Archery may attempt to qualify for the tournament by paying a visit to Narsaryn at the Battlegrounds on Iron Crown Isle.

The contest will run for seven full days, with participants able to attempt to better their best scores every few hours.

Zumryn and a mysterious, but generous partner, will be providing grand prizes for the top finishers.

Bows and arrows will be available, but contestants are free to use their own equipment, if they so choose.

8/20/09 - A Tournament of Bows - Now Live

The archery contest taking place in Zumryn's famous Battlegrounds is now live.

The contest will run through Friday (8/28).

In addition to the Adventurer Tokens that will be awarded to the top finishers, Zumryn will be providing winners with some special, secret bonus prizes.

Please be sure to pay a visit to Narsaryn at the Battlegrounds on Iron Crown Isle. You'll need to visit her for the tournament to become available -- even if you've visited her previously.

8/24/09 - The Latest Updates
A Contest of Bows
The competition is heating up!

If you haven't yet made your way to Zumryn's Battlegrounds on Iron Crown Isle to check out the archery tournament that's currently underway...there's no time to lose!

The total number of prizes being offered in the contest has increased from four to ten. With a little luck and some skill with a bow, you might just win one of them.

This special Fogbough-related adventure is anticipated to be ready for play sometime in the next several days.

The Next Updates
Following the conclusion of the archery tournament and the release of 'Heir to The Flame', will be the next chapter in the latest Proving Grounds adventure -- 'A Seer in Shadow'.

After the release of 'A Seer in Shadow', the fabled Tome of Attainment -- something no adventurer will want to be without -- will at last be made available.

8/26/09 - A Contest of Bows - Update
The skill being displayed by the field of contestants in the archery tournament -- now taking place on Iron Crown Isle -- is truly astounding.

Having originally underestimated participation levels and the intensity of the competition, Zumryn has again increased the total number of prizes that will be awarded.

There are now a total of twenty places that will win prizes at the conclusion of the contest.

If you haven't yet taken part in the contest, you may do so by visiting Iron Crown Isle in Southeast Tysa.

The contest runs through Friday, August 28th.

The last arrow has flown!

The archery tournament at Zumryn's Battlegrounds on Iron Crown Isle has concluded. Congratulations to all the adventurers who took part in the fierce competition, and congratulations to those whose scores earned them one of the top thirty spots.

The results will be finalized and the offical final leaderboard for the tournament will be posted tomorrow (8/29).

Prizes will be made available tomorrow evening (8/29). In addition to the Adventurer Tokens that will be awarded, Zumryn (and his mysterious partner in this enterprise) will also be giving out some special prizes.

Thanks to everyone who provided feedback, suggestions, and comments throughout the course of this special event. Your thoughtful input is very much appreciated and will be used to help shape future events and contests.

9/1/09 - The Latest Updates
A Special Raffle - The Ring of Mayhem
Later today (9/1) Tallys will begin hosting a special raffle for a grand ring -- The Ring of Mayhem.

Tickets for this special raffle will cost 10 gold each. Adventurers wishing to participate can purchase as many tickets as their plentiful gold reserves will allow.

As the Ring of Mayhem is a unique item, only one prize for one lucky winner will be available.

Character Gold Cap
A cap on the maximum allowable amount of gold a single character can accumulate will be implemented in the next few days.

The cap will initially be set at 1 million gold. A character will not be able to acquire more than 1 million gold.

Characters who already possess wealth in excess of the gold cap may retain it, but will not be able to acquire additional gold until the amount they possess drops below the cap level.

'Heir to The Flame'
This special Fogbough-related adventure is anticipated to be available for play on Friday (9/4).

The last of the Balewards -- an ancient line of powerful mages that long ago served as stewards of Fogbough, protecting the outside realm from the creeping curse of the rotting wood -- has returned -- and is seeking your help.

It's up to you, the age's greatest adventurer, to embark on a perilous quest to reclaim the long-abandoned abode of the sorcerers, Baleward Castle, from the evil that now stalks its halls.

9/7/09 - The Raffle of The Rings Ends

Tallys's 'Raffle of The Rings' has concluded. The drawing will be conducted, and the results will be posted later this evening (Monday, 9/7).

Adventurers lucky enough to win one of the magnificent rings will be able to claim the prize of their choice as soon as the results have been posted.

Just over ten and a half million tickets were purchased for the raffle. As promised, Tallys will be distributing the gold to the less fortunate throughout the kingdom.

9/8/09 - Heir to The Flame - Update
'Heir to The Flame', a special adventure set in the cursed forest of Fogbough, already twice delayed, is now expected to at last go live tomorrow evening (Wednesday, 9/9), one day later than was announced yesterday.

I apologize for the delay, but several issues were encountered during live testing that made the delay necessary.

Please note that when this adventure goes live, it will be found in Blade Square in Trithik. Due to its relation with other events, there are several prerequisites that must be satisfid to be able to access it:

Completion of the Runeskin adventures in Silverwysp.
Discovery of all the mentions of 'Baleward' in Fogbough Forest.
Completion of all the adventures available in Ashlyre.

10/5/09 - Blessings of Protection & Dodging

A long standing glitch that prevented Blessings of Protection (available at the Cathedral of The Silver Rain in Talinus) and the "dodge" powers employed by several items from preventing certain enemy special attacks, has now been fixed.

The special attacks in question, one of which was employed by the fearsome Oakaruk, will now be properly subject to the effect of the Blessings and "dodges".

Thanks to all the adventurers who provided detailed reports regarding this issue.

Adventurers interested in the opportunity to acquire a special Halloween Treat will want to pay a visit to Wurmwrit's Farm near Hawklor (in the Hart Hills region of Southwest Tysa).

Hint: The missing seeds can be found by visiting various locations throughout the kingdom (NOT through the "Explore the realms at random" option).

It may take some imaginative searching to find all of the seed locations.

Starting later this week, Tallys will begin hosting a special raffle for items from his 'Skull & Bones' collection.

10/25/09 - Tallys Raffle Items Glitch

A glitch of sorts left over from a session of testing caused Tallys's latest raffle items (from the 'Skull and Bones' raffle) to be available for purchase at his Trading Post before the end of the raffle (which is currently in progress).

These items have been removed from his Trading Post shelves, but will return and be available for purchase at the conclusion of the raffle, on November 2nd.

Any character who purchased of one of the 'Skull and Bones' raffle items may keep the item, but will not be eligible to have their name drawn in the raffle unless the item is returned to the Trading Post prior to the drawing on November 2nd.

It should be noted that all of this is Tallys's fault.

11/18/09 - A Contest of Bows - Part II
A second grand archery tournament is getting ready to begin at Zumryn's famous Battlegrounds on Iron Crown Isle.

Beginning this evening (11/18), adventurers proficient in the use of a bow may attempt to qualify for the tournament by paying a visit to Narsaryn at the Battlegrounds on Iron Crown Isle.

The contest will run through November 30th, with participants able to attempt to better their best scores every few hours.

Zumryn and a mysterious, but generous partner, will be providing grand prizes for the top finishers.

Bows and arrows will be available, but contestants are free to use their own equipment, if they so choose.

Zumryn could not be reached for comment.

At some moment in the last few days, the GM added a link to the Recent Realm News (http://www.sryth.com/ci.php?f_c=realm_news.inc&f_nh=1) from the Stats pane in-game.

Also, Trithik got a small cosmetic change in the way you explore the city after the end of the Glowing Goblin installment.

Prizes for the top 20 finishers in the second Contest of Bows archery tournament are now available. To claim your prize, please visit the Battlegrounds on Iron Crown Isle and select the "Special Battlegrounds Events" option.

Adventurers who achieved a score of 3,300 points or better in the contest will receive a special bow tomorrow (12/2).

This grand bow will provide a bonus when used in checks against your archery skill, and will make "using" your archery skill less prone to failure. It will also provide a bonus when your archery skill is used in random number selections (like those in recent tournament).

The Obelisk of Winter -- a towering, snowbound pinnacle of engraved stone -- has returned to Zumryn's famous Battlegrounds on Iron Crown Isle.

Through December 31st, Adventurers Guild members can obtain one of Zumryn's special Snowflake Amulets which can be used to unlock the ancient (and beneficial) magic long hidden away in the icy core of the ancient monument.
