View Full Version : My Crumbling Tower...

Hi,

So, it somewhat annoys me that the introductory text for my residence says that it's in "quite a state of disrepair".

Does this slowly change over time, or something? For the rest of this post I'll assume it doesn't. I'd like to be able to fix up my residence, and make it have a description that says it's looking nice.

If the GM is hoping to get us to dump gold, could this be an outlet for that? Admittedly, I'm a weird RP geek, but I would pay gold just to get the text to change to say how awesome my residence was. Am I the only one? Well, yeah, probably, but still.

In fact, I'd rather spend on that than on a one in a billion chance of getting some rare ring when I don't have nearly the gold to compete.

What do you guys think?

The ability to renovate our residences was promised as soon as theyt were announced. However so far it has not been implemented.

Yes, for the first few months after residences came out, there was a box in the residence's descriptive text that said "You'll soon be able to renovate this residence, which will serve to improve its condition and provide extra features."

It went away the day after I sent the GM a typo report, suggesting that the word "soon" was a typo for the word "eventually". :) While I intended it humorously at the time, even including a smiley in the typo report, in retrospect it does seem a tad passive-agressive...

As does the Paladin. Marissa would definitely like to refurbish Stormhill Manor. Guess I'd better do some grinding so I have enough gold to pay for it, that and the Tome of Attainment and working on becoming a fully-fledged Master Mage, that being one whose powers are all at or above level seventy. I've got four powers at level sixty now, and while i might already have enough XP for one or two of them gold is another matter. Such is also the case if it were possible to rennavate our residences. I do hope we'll still have that option someday.

I think the lengths that AMP Zmflavius went to to refurbish Lunacastrum castle should show how much he wants to renovate his castle (as in, he even would pledge service to Runeskin if he would give him all the Iakor weapons and armor and renovate his castle).

To bad that Alanne and Myrenne couldn't destroy it. At least they got out. although, I was hopping that Ln could somehow get the microchips out of their skin.

(GodofPride, GodofPride, where for art thou, GodofPride?)(Oh, and I don't like him like that.)

As a text adventure that reports to be an RPG, I believe it also helps if the players exercise a certain amount of imagination.

We purchased a piece of real estate from Faradmyn that was advertised as being "in quite a state of disrepair".

Since then, we have been kept busy ridding the places of extraneous denizens and discovering that all is not as well with our properties as first expected.

I am of the opinion (oh, no... here we go again, I hear you say) that we have been renovating during the times we aren't adventuring... in an invisible way that assumes our characters can perform mundane activities while the players sleep.

One day, the description might change depending on the amount of visits, time passed since purchase, etc.

However, I now refute my argument by suggesting that I expected the same thing to happen with our mounts... that they would change from being indifferent to more kindly (or not) depending on how often we paid attention to them.

I won't be able to buy anything, because Alanne only has 1,600 gold.

Grind for some gold. That's what Scout did. (almost made 3m if it wasn't for the raffle)

Except, now she has... Well, lets say that she trainned some stuff and hasn't been to Axepath or Yir-Tannon much as of late.

Pretty much. She can't even return anything to Tallys. I should probably go to Axepath now.
