What made you think there's a finite number of residences?

There are adventures which you can only access if you have a residence, so the GM is obviously planning that they'll continue to be available to everyone. Don't worry about any 'hurry and get yours soon' flavour text - that's just Faradmyn's heavy marketing! :)
EDIT: just seen your second post. Think he stops there if you don't have enough ATs yet.

None of the residences are unique, they're all the same except for the name and location. Find one that's somewhere nice, rename it, and you're in business.

And get the ATs too.

HOWEVER...It is not beyond the realm of possibility for Faradmyn to hike the prices of his shoddy ruins.

Good point. The GM did raise the price of the QS.

Click here (http://sryth.wikia.com/wiki/AT) for almost all the ways to get ATs in the game. You'll have 72 in no time.

I ended up getting all mine in Southern Tysa, because there are several popular destinations there (Longspur Downs, Ildraria's cave, Vault of the Iron Dragon) but none of them were on the coachman's destination list. So by locating my residence there, I minimize the wear and tear on my poor horse.

I took SE Tysa. It was the only Palace on the list.

Yes, for Young Ned and Kermit I specifically wanted a Manor and a Tower, respectively, so in both cases it took quite a few pages of residences before I finally found those specific things in South Tysa. Too bad you can't ask Faradmyn to narrow things down to a specific region.

Rep'd, because I wanted to do the same, but there were no places ending in "Castle" at the time I was scrolling through the list (for Clairvoyance when she went house-shopping yesterday). So I settled for a Castle in Central Tysa, since it's easy to click any corner of the map from Central Tysa.

My residence is near Moonpath, in Southfoot, because of its proximity to Hawklor and the Ice Troll Cave.
