I was playing around with the Wanderer's Bell with this guy, and I found that he has exactly5000 SP.

I got that from 27 rounds of damage totaling 1867. He was at 63%. The percentiles matched perfectly round-by-round with a total of 5000.

Violette has MR 94 SP 89 and NV 25 and Necromancy 60
He was of course, blacker than black for her.

WOW! The GM was intent on making the bugger invincible! I don't think anyone can take him out!

I agree. Particularly since his automatic special does 101 damage.

At least we don't need to feel bad about being defeated by him.

Lol ... I never felt bad when I got busted by him or by the guy at the start of the Giants Adventures Series. It was clear they were meant to bust our rear ends!

The guy in the Stonesong adventure is beatable. I think at 100 MR you don't even need to use Shadow Magic. I've beat him on lots of restarts.

I'll post the text here when Violette does it.

True, the guy is beatable. But I was never up to it in the few characters I played. I started the Giants adventures as soon as I could to get the nice equipment.

5k SP. Wow. I think I know who the GM's test character is...

Thankfully he gives us the flat of his blade. Still quite the spanking indeed.

This fight is possible to win. You can give a maximum of ~1500 from the bell, ~1000 from FoD, ~50 rounds of combat with bell and BoP, and near unlimited heals over time with Quickstone. So with a high enough power level and NvR you can win.

But, it would take DAYS.

For an enemy that strong there has to be an extremely good reward though ;).

I don't know if it's possible actually. He hits with his special nearly every round, and the special does 90+ damage.

One or two lapsed rounds where the bell or BOP doesn't cover you, and it's over. And I've had the bell only protect me for 5 rounds more than once (I ran this about 6 times, abandoning after I lost) so getting enough 'safe' rounds for a power to eat though 5K SP with only 4 bell uses is very problamatic.

Yeah and/or crashing the server.

you could use this strategy:
Suppose you had 210+ SP, meaning that you could survive 2+ hits of the man.

In the first round, you use your WoD, use your QS heal, wait an hour, use your wand, use a QS heal, wait til the next day...til the man is knocked down.

That would take weeks.

That would work, provided his special is "only" 90+, and not "what it takes to knock you down," Which I suspect it is.

Flavius, you need to complete the "Man in the Leather Hat" to join the adventure guild, so correct me if I am wrong, but don't you need to be a guild member to get the WoD.

Good catch MrBlack.

Yes, you need to talk to the guildmaster to get the Wand.

If the GM wanted players to be able to beat the bugger, he would not have made him invincible! The guy is meant to beat every player in the game!

thingirl

Yes, he is. However, he might be defeatable with the WB and QS.

Temporary acronym decryption failure here... What's a WB? All I can come up with are "Warner Bros." and "WellButrin" (an antidepressant)...

Edit: Oh, duh, Wanderer's Bell. Never mind!

Excellent point. Also the Wand, Finger and especially the Bell are relatively new and probably weren't taken into account or else it'd be a battle like Barynbor with no drop down.

Still, it be interesting to see the result - minus the server crash of course. ;)
