Stop the items screen popping up?

I really hate the way the right hand frame goes to the items screen every time you gain an item. Does anybody actually find that useful? I'm seriously considering petitioning the GM to get rid of it.

Very very occasionally but I'm definitely with you in that I find it more annoying than helpful especially when one wants the "regular" page to access a category to use something.

I'd be for tweaking it out or off as long as it isn't labor intensive for the GM - I have no concept of how hard programming tweaks are at all.

If you pick up an item, it will tell you weather you have picked it up or not. If you don't do anything else other than pick up another item or go to the next screen, after the next combat, you will be at the stats pane. It's actually not that annoying.

I'm not talking about when you deliberately pick something up, but when you gain an item through one of those boxes that tells you you have an item.

Oh. That. It's very annoying. 9 out of 10 times I get an item that way, I don't want to use it right away.

I find this very annoying, particularly when Icons appear.

But it is so pervasive and seems to be on a case-by-case basis.

In one of these two situations (can't recall which, sorry) it does NOT occur (at first anyway, but if you use a Power it activates the auto-item-pane)


1. Getting an ice key (Ice Cave)
or 2. Getting a Angled Key (Tarn)

It's the Ice Cave. It happens in Tarn.

The Item screen definitely pops up when you get the three keys (after killing the last three bandits) in the Ice Cave.

I don't think it pops up when you use them though.

I'm also under the impression that it pops up when you obtain an ice key.

OK, time to admit I was wrong :)

Maybe it's because I almost always use Restro on the screen where I get the combat XP, instead of the screen after I get the key.

The only time I've found this behavior useful is in a quest when I gain a new item. Then I can look up its info right away. Otherwise, it just seems to slow my gaming down if I forget to close it. Better it not pop up than me having to click "Stats" all the time.
