Hum. My two groups aren't drawing a lot of members yet. Maybe they should be related, with one being a higher level than the other or something.

So I thought I'd make a guild. Do we have guilds on here? Well, now we do... Guild:The Ticklers Grim (http://www.srythforum.com/group.php?groupid=20). Please see the rules. They are preliminary, since I want to attract people. I want it to be relatively easy to get in, but extremely difficult to attain Legendary status...

There are levels of insanity, err... I mean, attainment in the guild. I'm open for ideas on how to Atone for Past Intelligent Actions (in reference to those that already have the items but want to join)...

The way to Atone should be something as comical or daring as the idiocy for which they atone (i.e. it is pretty difficult to obtain an iron shard when you only have 81-85 SP, so atoning for not doing so should be equally difficult/daring).

Once you've become a Novice (or better) in the guild, you can add your status to your signature. (So for Simeon

I honestly love your ideas, but there's one thing that's keeping me from joining your guild:

I'm a member of the Procrastinator's Guild and our policy is that we'll look into stuff later...

Procrastinator's! It is more like "thoughtful, analytical, careful, visionary, perfectionist!" After all, we give things their due consideration BEFORE doing them!

PS: why is this good idea listed in the multi-player scenario section? Or is it because that each guild has multi-players?! :)

Its a guild that focuses on multiplayer scenarios only

Now, what I'm interested in is how to atone for past intelligence.

Sorry for the double post, but I had a thought for atonement, at least for Xarakk: getting the finger bands instead of the weapons? Maybe?

EDIT: If so:

You've gone only a few yards from the edge of the ring of stones when a strange sound draws your attention to powerful wand of bone in your possession.

You're taken aback to discover that the Finger of Dread now bears a lone onyx band around its middle.

With no time to dwell on this startling development, you quickly resume your flight to the far side of the hill.

As in, you did that whilst you were combating Xarakk following the Basic Rules of the Guild?

I guess that's equivalent. Each band equates to one item? Sounds fair enough! :D

It's just that... no never mind, I'm being too anal about something that's supposed to be zany, crazy & fun.

It works. Each band will suffice, as long as your following the Basic Rules... ok, I've said enough.:o

One variation was made on the Guild Rules discussion (http://www.srythforum.com/group.php?do=discuss&group=&discussionid=31) -- you've gotta basically waste the charges after you've gained them (which seemed reasonably idiotic to me)...

Yes, I was following the rules. I switched over to normal mode about an hour ago. I got the band ~30 minutes after I posted the idea. The last edit was me taking out the second band I got, because I forgot to save...

EDIT: I'm shot. I only got 1 charge while following the rules. Oh well, I'll try again in 6 hours. Question: Do you have to have the 85 or less SP while discharging the Finger? (Oh shoot, I probably shouldn't have asked that...)

EDIT2: While staying for the whole thing, is it OK to retreat and save then come right back? I ask because Grandmaster: stay for the whole MP battle, stopping only to "Attempt to rest here".

@ EDIT #1 -- no I'll be lax on that... (although I'm quite sure the finger won't give you 85 backlash)

@ EDIT #2 -- that's why it is Grandmaster. Tis no small feat of insanity.:D

The beatings will continue until morale improves!

In light of recent events, the Guild Rules have changed fairly drastically...

Guild Rules (http://www.srythforum.com/group.php?do=discuss&group=&discussionid=31)

Plus, somehow or other (probably random acts of insanity) I had made it a "moderated group" which makes it invite/approve only. That seems draconian, so I changed it to a public group!

Rules of insanity have been updated (again)

Hey, if I didn't change my mind constantly, I would be SANE. And, nobody wants that.

   I never knew there were rules for insanity! Isn't that a contradiction like the term "military intelligence!"

It's a guild, it has to have rules. And you're the insane one, not laughing at yourself because of your insanity.

Isn't that a contradiction like the term "military intelligence!"

While I disagree with that notion in particular (a lot of domestically useful inventions come out of military necessities). I think the term would be more applicable to say a contradiction is "bureaucratic intelligence", of which the military bureaucracy would be a subset, leaving the other intelligent components of the military unscathed... (but then the meaningfulness of the phrase would be lost along with the targeted insult, thus spoiling the effect)

So, again, while I disagree with that notion in particular, I can add to it --

If you park in a driveway, and drive on a parkway... what do you do at a workstation?

EDIT: additionally -- if you imply that insanity can have no rules, but then also imply that a rule-laden organization is also less-than-intelligent -- does that mean that only the sane & unintelligent should have rules?
