I just realized why mine was Stoneback hill, after running through it with Sae.

I'd have to say PG I.

PG V followed by PG I. But I haven't even started PG VI yet, so that might change.
I'd add Saarngard too, but it's not a single adventure, so...

Agreeing with PG V, probably because the GM really managed to nail the feeling that you're fighting something that can't be (conventially) fought. It was also the first adventure I had to wait for, so I was basically sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for the next part. I'm really liking PG VI thus far too, because intrigue really is my favorite part of roleplaying.
I'd have to go with Runeskin as my second, less because of the writing (however good) and more because once you beat it you know that you've passed a certain line in the game. I'm sure everyone went to east Tysa with their first character and got humbled by these 18+ goblins that kicked you up and down, and when I came back, much upgraded, and saw them at 3+, I just knew that most other adventures wouldn't be very hard no more. I also managed to somewhat accidentally discover Shadow Magic through the runes, and I felt really excited until I checked the forum. ;)

Caves of Westwold followed by the Giants Series!

I liked PG-V, followed by PG-I, though the Dreadstones saga was good story and once PG-VI finishes it will probably be at the top, and...
Okay, the GM is just a good immerse writer. Everything is good.

In my opinion, a lot of the minor adventures were a bit simplistic, but the ones written after the GM went full-time and almost all the major adventures were wonderful to read.

Does that mean that the Giants adventure series is "simplistic?"

He said "moinor adventures". "The Giants" is hardly "minor". Also, he said a lot", not "all"...

Yeah, I'd think he talked about things like the men in the Stoneback tavern. Nice little flavor pieces but you'd rather see the new PG scenario (why can't it come sooner!) than more of them.

I guess that makes my question a "dumb question!" Oh well! Cannot win them all!

Don't agree with Elrond. At least I've always had something against The Giants.

Lol .... I have nothing to do with it. Your disagreement is with a certain Mr. Matthew H. Yarrows!

If she was talking to anyone else, why did she quote your post? And now it's probably time to take this to PMs.
On topic:
I also like PG 5 because of the story line.

I've read that question a few times. And I don't understand it!
And don't worry about PM'ing. My take is that I have a favorite adventure or 2. I'm not trying to force it on anyone. I'm glad when someone shares that choice with me. But I don't feel that my choice has become the standard of discussion for this topic. Everyone has their own choice!
Picky, picky, picky little Elrond!

Were you telling Moria not to agree with Elrond, or were you just saying YOU don't agree with him but left out the "I" at the beginning of the sentence?

I really liked PG V and after all is said and done, PG VI may well be my favorite, but my favorite to this point is Heir to the Flame.

I almost missed out on both the ATs and throne XP. Thank goodness I was stuck in the dungeon.

Ressurecting this thread for being cool. Maybe somebody has something to add few years later.
Yesterday I went through Stoneback Hill adventure, nothing distracted me, anxious music helped to immerse myself and wow.. what a journey! I was like there, fighting undead and watching the horros of deep lair. Definetly my favourite adventure of those few I've already finished

Runeskin saga is somewhat similar at least I've always felt it was in line with Beowulf early on when facing Grendal and his mother.

Grendel, eh?... Hm... interesting parallel, didn't occur to me - I should revisit Runeskin... I've some cookies - have one... :)
PG IV - and most definitely PG V - are favourites of mine, I believe, so far...
There are others as well - 'The Blood of Zardruzin' being one of them, for its storytelling style, the encapsulating of the story within cleverly framing prologue and epilogue featuring the bard and its audience, and you, the adventurer, as a 'stuff of legends,' a personage about whom songs, ballads, epics are supposedly written in the future...
How can you not smile warm-heartedly at such a player-flattering sweet gesture from the part of our P&GM - 'Puppet & Game Master' ;) - extraordinaire?... :) Couldn't resist the urge to send him not one, but two compliments on account of that, reciprocating his, both at the beginning, and the end...
For the rest, I'd have to dig through a mounting mound of notes scribbled on digital margins... Another day, perhaps. :)
EDIT: and since I just realised my cookie made for another pleasantly round number, conga on account of those reps, Darkrkngl - wish you many more of them, and many more hours of happy gaming. ;)

Yeah, the funny part is Runeskin himself reminds me more of the mother than grendel, I see Iakor more in grendel's place.
And congrats on a Spartastic number of reps(300 at time of posting)

That is funny as can be! :D Runeskin as mummy dearest :D, and Iakor as the cannibalistic, feared-by-all... stable boy! :D Just too good not to conjure all sorts of images in my nutter head!
Thanks for the laughs, and thanks for that Spartastic linguistic invention - now off to celebrate the occasion by finding meself a hapless envoy, and kicking him in the chest... and into a pit, of course! (Maybe I'll find some hole in the ground first, then ask someone to oblige me by standing near its edge... ;))
Just don't ask me to be Spartan about posting! :) Although it's true I talk little, generally, and only if I have something to say (not for being bashful, only I'm not overly talkative, unless the situation demands, and I feel like it), which, I suppose, is the polar opposite of my writing here - and elsewhere... :)

"Stoneback Hill" was the first adventure I attempted as an AG Player, and it was awesome, if only for that fact.
However, the "Giant" series of adventures has my vote, mainly because they took me a while to crack. The ambience was threatening, especially when the game was still young(ish). I'm somewhat sad that I never got to face Hawnley Jack himself, but his sons were tough enough.
I guess it goes back to being a neophyte adventurer with a world of opportunity still ahead. I remeber "The Murk" with fondeness, and the "Seven Statues" were challenging. Of course, in thoise days, we didn't have recourse to Goblindoom. The best sword existing for me was The Blade of The Fox or Blalak's Broadsword.
Oh, gosh. That reminds me of Gralgarok's Tomb. I died so often trying to complete that adventure that I ran out of swear words to explain it.

... and starting with the morning where you wake up to an unexpected and difficult-to-win subduing fight in you room, followed by setting out to acquire 'the horn' (which lead my to my single longest one-time grinding session of several hours in the tomb, and netted me the greatest single collection of high-quality loot I've ever seen - documented in detail in its Wiki quest page), then the ambush... and then the story really opens up as you now set out on your own in search of Stoneskin... Then going toe-to-toe...
I now remember the closing scene having struck me as particularly and beautifully contemplative, even philosophical, I believe - and the final description panning to Stoneskin, then past him onto the scene on display at the foot of the hill, and finally panning up, out into the far distance, and towards the setting sun, as I recall... And the final sentence, I think, almost (or actually) striking a bell, either in so many words, on only in my head - was some of that only happening in my mind?... Well, in any case, it's there right now (but I'm convinced it was in writing, on the page... too tired to check the Wiki, the forum, or my - possibly lost - notes right now).

I like the quest where you helped the sea dragon, I like the idea of good non-humans.
The ring of illusion was 20 well thought out stories in a row and lots of really good loot at the end whilst strongly building your reputation as a man of action.
Daggerspire was good as it had the antagonist that acted most like a supervillain right down to the "you have failed me" bit.
