I don't know why this has never occurred to me before:
We should seriously petition the GM to change the Use Item menu so that the newest items are at the top, not the bottom. That way, what you're most likely to want to use will be the first thing in the list.

The categories are ordered in the same order as in your inventory. Putting new stuff at the top would make it imposable to find. I liked the labels for the different categories. If he puts those beck in, then new at the top would make sense.

Psycho, are you talking about the drop-down menu you get for "Use an Item" on the Stats pane? Thingirl, it sounds like you're talking about the Items pane, so I'm not sure your suggestion applies to Psycho's.

That is what I mean, and Thingirl is right that the items in the menu are in the same order as your inventory. EXCEPT for the miscellaneous category, which (with the exception of a couple of items) is in reverse alphabetical order on the inventory screen, but on the menu is in order from oldest to newest.
I can't imagine it would be that hard to move the miscellaneous category to the top and put it in order from newest to oldest instead of the other way around.

I don't know if this would be tough to program, but it's be nice if we could edit the order of the dropdown items and inventory. Not that big a deal, but scrolling down to the bottom can add up after hundreds of battles.

Tip -- click the item drop down, then, on your keyboard, hit the End key, if you have one.

I was talking about the stats pane. But, actually, it's not the same order. Weapon at the top and Mic. at the bottom is, though. I wasn't talking about the order of the items within the catagories, though.
The way it is, I just (this is with FF 2. something) Go to the stats pane, click on the menu, then click the little scroll bar and quickly move it down to the bottom and the key/gear/whatever I want is right there.

LOL I was talking about the Stats pane, too.
I realize I may not have been clear, so here's the step by step --
Click the Stats button
On the Stats pane, click the "use an item" drop-down box
A drop down list will appear (but it won't switch to the Items pane, thankfully)
With the drop-down list in view, hit the End key
Voila! You're at the bottom of the "use an item" drop-down box...
From there you can scroll up and pretend you started at the top and are scrolling down... ;)
This actually should work on any drop down list.

I knew you were talking about stats.
Well, even if you did, and I'm not saying... I better stop.
But -- someone else might not have gotten it...

Response - to eat or as a pet?
Reply -... yes... also they are immensely amusing...
You've lost it.

Honestly, I find the drop-down menu too constricting to use. I greatly prefer the Items pane -- better organized, larger font size, just easier to use in every way.
