View Full Version : Quickstone suggestion

Hi, I don't know if this has come up before or not, but following a recent Tarn run I feel that the Quickstone should be changed. At the moment you get a chance for a 20 to be repeated (sometimes more than once) in the next round. This is great, but I for one find it very annoying when that message comes up only to lose it because I killed the opponent. Wouldn't it be better for the bonus to carry over to the next combat? What do you guys think about this?

It's an interesting suggestion, but one I think would be unnecessarily hard to program in.

Like Zm said, the only thing that makes me want to say no is that it would probably be too hard to program.

Only as hard to program as storing QS 20s... It'd be just like having a "temporary" QS 20.

That would be nice, the difference in programming would be he probably sets the repeat QS 20 as a local variable to make it more efficient (it's only stored for the combat), he would just have to change it to a global variable. I have wondered about that myself, it would be great going into a battle knowing you are starting off with a 20. BTW, does anyone know his reasoning for not having the QS store or repeat all 20's?

I don't know, but I have noticed that you can't ever use a QS 20 in the very first round of battle -- you can click on it, but nothing happens. You have to attack with your weapon or use a power or item in the first round, and after that you can use a QS 20.
So perhaps not carrying over 20s from the previous battle has some connection with that. Heck, maybe they are getting carried over, but not getting used because of that.

Think about it, though. The repeated Quickstone 20, I think, is represented as a sudden burst of energy that fades as quickly as it appeared. If they fade that quickly, then obviously, you couldn't store them for the next battle.
This may be a good roleplaying-wise explanation for repeating Quickstone 20's not storing.

one thing I'd like to add if allowed would be a quickstone NV refill, like the quickstone heal. It would have half the number of heal charges(meaning 1 currently but as a pattern if more were added later). The reason I bring up the idea is the bowl of blood, because the temple empties your NV reserve even if you were at full and this can mean problems after you get back out into the arena if you're down low on hp without the health charges.

My quickstone now glows blue after placing it in the "kettle" in my stronghold's hidden lair. I have not been able to discern what that means in game terms.

So far nothing. Although that is a sign that there is to be more powers to come....

Maybe the Qs reflects your mood - smile and be happy when you play and maybe it will glow different colors (just kidding).
