Since we seem to be a bit short on active wiki Admins lately, I've given wetheril a well-deserved promotion to Admin. Please join me in welcoming her to the state of Adminitude.

Wow, I just woke up to this, and was really surprised, since it totally wasn't something I expected. Thank you, Young Ned. I'm very honored, and will do my best.

Congrats Wetheril and thanks to you and the handful of other wiki workers who do the majority of the "heavy lifting".

Congrats, Wetheril. I appreciate the hard work it takes to stay on top of all the new game content and to ensure old info is accurate. I don't know what I'd do without the character-building guide and the quest pages. The PG pages are a big help, too. Selkit got more ATs from PG V because of them.

And to the forum in general and Wiki editors in particular: I'm afraid to try to edit wiki pages if I find info is inaccurate because I fear I'll screw up formatting, but would it be a good idea to perhaps have a thread here to list possible errors to be corrected? I've found some minor ones concerning experience gains, though I'd likely have to run another character to find the specific incidences. Then we could list what we've found, and if enough people can coroborate it as an error, it can be edited by someone who knows how.

First of all, I want to thank everybody for your congratulations. :) Since I am the "new kid on the block" to being a Wiki Admin, I'll be looking to all of you (especially the veteran players and senior editors) to give me guidance when needed. Your voices and opinions mean a lot to me.

I don't know what I'd do without the character-building guide and the quest pages. The PG pages are a big help, too. Selkit got more ATs from PG V because of them.

The credit for the character-building guide goes to Scarbrow, Joddelle, and Psychoadept. Joddelle is also the one who provided most of the relevant info in PG V--and I agree with you--it is very amazing work.

And to the forum in general and Wiki editors in particular: I'm afraid to try to edit wiki pages if I find info is inaccurate because I fear I'll screw up formatting, but would it be a good idea to perhaps have a thread here to list possible errors to be corrected? Then we could list what we've found, and if enough people can coroborate it as an error, it can be edited by someone who knows how.

Every wiki page actually has a talk page associated with it (if you look in the upper right hand corner, you will see a tab for "discussion"). I recommend leaving a comment in "discussion", especially if you spot something disputable on a page. However, I am not opposed to a thread on the forum for this either--as it might be easier for more people to be involved in discussing a detail that is different from what's listed on the page.

I'm afraid to try to edit wiki pages if I find info is inaccurate because I fear I'll screw up formatting...

The nice thing about a wiki is that no screwup is permanent. If you do screw something up, you can always look at the history for that page and click "undo" on the most recent version to roll it back to the previous version (always assuming your screwup was introduced in the latest version, not several versions back, of course).

If you're really worried about screwing up, copy the source for the whole page to the Sandbox page (http://sryth.wikia.com/wiki/Sandbox) and play around with it there. Then once you've got it looking good, copy it back to the page you were working on.

...but would it be a good idea to perhaps have a thread here to list possible errors to be corrected? I've found some minor ones concerning experience gains, though I'd likely have to run another character to find the specific incidences. Then we could list what we've found, and if enough people can corroborate it as an error, it can be edited by someone who knows how.

The good thing about doing it as a single forum thread is that you'd only have one place to look when you wanted to make corrections. The good thing about doing it on the discussion page for the particular page that has the error is that it's right there in the wiki, and anyone who edits the page is usually going to check the discussion page as a matter of course.

So we could do it either way, but at the moment I'm leaning a little more toward the discussion-page method. But perhaps people who don't edit the wiki at all could report things that need correcting on a thread here.

Or people who sometimes edit, but much prefer reporting stuff on the forum :)

First of all, congratulations to Wetheril. I expect only the best from you and I think it was a good decision. Welcome aboard, Wetheril.

I'm also inclined to prefer the wiki discussion page, but wanted to remind that we already have a thread for that in the forum: Sryth Wiki Requests (http://www.srythforum.com/showthread.php?t=251)

I don't often visit the wiki site unless I'm really stuck.

This doesn't detract from Wetheril's appointment. I'm actually in awe of the poeple who keep this site up-to-date and concurrent.

Wetheril deserves her recognition, and from me.... I'd give you a high five, but I'm one of those people who always get confused whether a high five should be a single hand slap or a double back slap or a slap that ends in a finger grab, etc.

I'm a man-shake type of guy. Grip it strong (but not too strong) look him/ her in the eye, and release!

Badstench, the above was the "sober" part of your post!

A bit late, but congrats. And another owed rep. I guess it's official then...sensei. ^^

You deserve that post though, in all seriousness. I'll try to be around and get somewhat decent to even merit this post...

Oh. I was under the impression that thread was for editors to request info or help updating/maintaining wiki pages. But if suggestions can be posted there, too, okay then.

Edit: If you're really worried about screwing up, copy the source for the whole page to the Sandbox page (http://sryth.wikia.com/wiki/Sandbox) and play around with it there. Then once you've got it looking good, copy it back to the page you were working on.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't be able to tell if I broke something. My screen reader reformats pages for easier reading, so the presentation isn't the true look of the page. I think there's a setting to make it show screen layout, but I'd have to experiment to see how well it works. I think it's better that I just report things here.
