So, how much general xp do you have today?
==================================================
I have a grand total of 132 general xp after raising a few powers to lvl 80. Dang! There a strange sense of relief in knowing that you cannot level any skill or power at all!

I had more than 1.5 million general experience before levelling Archery to 90 and Restoration to 80. Now I have 1,497,871.

Lol ... That is so sad! ;) :p :D But seriously, congrats on the discipline and dedication needed to hoard that much xp.

By that statement, you're implying that only XP Millionaires can post on the thread? ;)
And yeah, I was really sad and reluctant to dig into the hoard. :( But oh well! I'll make back the missing XP very soon. (And getting to 2 million by the end of the month would be nice, but would require some luck.)

Lol ... I won't go by that implication! Otherwise, I would have to be rude and not reply to your post ;)
Good luck on your quest for 2 million by the end of the month!

For those of you sitting on millions of general XPs, feel free to donate some to other deserving inhabitants of Sryth, like myself. Heck, maybe the repping system could be changed and an option added to give xps as reps.

There is no luck involved in this case. Only skill, time, and hard work. You can't just get lucky to get a massive hoard of experience. You only get it from hours/days/weeks of grinding. You either do it, or you don't; but luck has nothing to do with it.
Will you rise to the challenge, Wetheril?

Hard work is the key, but luck does have something to do with it - do you find the ghost lady, and if so how much does she give you? Do you get the killing blow? How much do you get from Tarn? Or Fang Ridge?

But if you don't get lucky from those, you go grind some more. Luck might help you along, but it doesn't make a difference in the ultimate goal.

True, but since there's a time factor involved a little luck might make a difference to whether you make the deadline.

True that. Still, the hard work factor can serve to negate that by adding a little more.

It is as Dooli said--there is a lot of luck involved.
Also, I cannot help but find it ironic that you're lecturing me on time and hard work. As somebody who has already accomplished 14 straight days of 100k+ exp because I did put the time needed into it, I can say this much: getting 100k+ exp a day will either be really gruelling if you're unlucky, or can happen easily in 2-3 hours when you get lucky with the ghost lady especially at the BHC. I still log my progress in an Excel spread sheet so I get an idea of how much I'll be making that day.
I have gotten incredibly lucky a couple times at the BHC once, getting the Ghost lady up to 7 times a day at one point, and at least one of those times I got the 3072/1024 AS&P reward. I didn't have to grind for the rest of the day to know I had more than made the needed amount.
As for whether or not I'll push myself to make 2 million experience--I can't this month. Thanksgiving is coming up, and my parents and siblings are going to be around. Unless I get really lucky with what limited time I can spend, I wouldn't count on it.

I have about 30k and as soon as I have enough to level divination to 90, it will be bye bye again :P

I was sitting on 100k with Rhia and spending anything over that. Then A Contest of Bows II came along & I got fed up with Rhia's painfully low scores and decided to level Archery to 90.
Now she's still getting fairly low scores and I've got a way to go till I can get back up to my 100k reserve.

The Contest of Bows II tempted me to raise my archery to lvl 90; then I decided that even then, I could not compete with the legendary archers. So, my small general xp reserve went into powers to finish of that desire! And I do not regret it. Powers need much more general xp than skills if one wants to level all skills and powers up simultaneously.

True.
I justified raising Archery to 90 by saying well, all skills to 90 is my next target after all powers to 80, and I've only got Conjuration to go on that. I don't raise skills and powers simultaneously. I'm quite happy plodding away one level at a time.

Ok. Replace the word "Rhia" with the word "Alanne" in the above quote and you have my story. Except it's at 94.

What do you mean by "simultaneously?" Are you saying you undertake the daunting challenge of having powers equal to skill levels, rather than ten levels behind as is likely the case generally?
I agree with you on the archery tournament. I didn't see the point in pouring exp into a skill that otherwise doesn't see regular use. Well, okay, it does in the ice cave, but that's it. I use Restoration far more than Archery.
What's up with the millions of exp in hoards, anyway? To my thinking, it's better to spend it to level skills/powers faster. Waiting on enough specific exp is just too slow. And what would be the point when the skills/powers hit Legendary to have all that exp around? I raise skills/powers as soon as possible, and because I hate those awkward 69s, 79s, etc, I spend gen exp to get the skill over the hump.
I'm with Dooli - 100,000 exp is enough for a reserve.

why not hoard it until you need it. right now there isn't anything I can't do with the skills and lvls I already have trained up. So why not build up as much general xp as you can. when you need it then train it. As for your comment on archery. i agree didn't make sense to throw all your xp into it for a contest when there is so much luck involved..
