Active Forum Membership

What does "Active Members" mean? You know how on the front page, it gives a number of total members and then active ones? How is that determined? I tried searching the FAQ, but couldn't find anything. The question's been nagging me, so I ask out of curiosity.

I think it means "Has logged on some time in the past 2 months".

I really don't know, but what Thingirl says seems to make sense. Probably refers to how many users have logged in over a certain time span.

I'm pretty sure Thingirl is correct. It is the number of members that have visited the forum within a specified time. I think the default is 30 days.

I wondered about that myself awhile back and did some googling. There's a forum for vBullentin support which is where I'm getting this from.

EDIT: Actually it seems to be 14 days. That's from comparing the number of "active members" that is listed to the membership roster that's been active within 14 days.
