Nicely done Dooli - "finger fortune" or not betcha was glad to see that marathoner finally end. I don't know if a single player has had multiple characters finish out with those rankings and damage amounts. With 40,000 plus damage :eek: Also, that's not taking in accout the amount of combat rounds lost to switch your characters in and out and for "Finger saving". Glad to see you get the kill and duly repped.

So what, you fought with your secondaies untill they get their fingers recharged, then you switched to Rhia?

As far as I remember, it went something like:

1. Go to Tarramyre with Niamh to get her last onyx ring. Easily done.

2. Switch back to Rhia, check out how other MPs are doing. Pumpkin's nearly dead, so put a few rounds in then disappear before it gets to the killing blow and go and fight Ildraria. Stick with that and get killing blow for Rhia. Hooray.

3. Back to Tarramyre for Rhia. Not much progress since the last visit. Use up her last FoD blast and easily get another three rings.

3. Get Xarakk down to around 75%, then start wondering what the FoD status is for my other two characters. Aerin turns out to have one blast left, so I use that up and get another three rings. Jazz has two FoD blasts, but the way this is going I figure I've got time to use up both of them and still get another three rings. I'm right.

4. Jazz bows out somewhere around 35% and hands back to Rhia, who takes it the rest of the way.

Greygor was the only other person around for most of the fight - again, kudos to him for tenacity!

Congrats Car Yung for determination. The guy was hammering away when I came in, doing 50-100ish damage at a time. He left after a while, but not before several valiant combat rounds.

I actually had fallen asleep while playing, and woke up just in time for a few more rounds of combat vs the demon. Drusilla probably thought I was a kill-stealer, since it would've appeared I had just come in (from her perspective) at the "right moment".

The best part: First time getting top damage vs any MP (a challenge on a slow connection). The icing? I got all three bands!

I remember when we would have conversations in this thread (on the old forum) while posting a count down to the start of a battle.

Everybody was so excited about getting in there and beating the snot out of him and when it finally started, you would find yourself fighting along side 30 to 40 other great adventurers. The battles would be fast (10 to 20 minutes) and some of us would race to post the results first.

Now, battles last multiple hours, only a few participate (I usually only fight to restock my finger bands)......

I think the main reason in the lack of participation in the mps overall is the amount of new replayable content - Tarn and the Battlegrounds specifically. Throw in the fact that some folks are still hunting for the Bowl of Blood gems and Tallys's "Fogbough" pouches......

I tried with Rhia. She can fight Xarakk after the normal amount of time, but none of her rounds are showing up on the display. The last is Alanne with 445 points of damage, which it still says was only 1 minute ago.

Just got a reply from the GM:Hi, not a problem, I appreciate the concern/support and the heads up. I hadn't realized how far ahead the time was creeping on the server.

I've added at net time update call to the cron job list that will keep the server time accurate. It was about 45 minutes ahead.

Some time based game events may be out of sync for some players for a while, but this should correct itself within a few hours.

Assuming the RNG is truly random, I'd say 1.25x10^(-4), which is roughly a little more than 1/1000. Of course, if you rolled a 20 5 straight times in a row, you should go buy a lottery ticket. ;)

Does the number of rounds or the damage dealt affect the rate at which you get bands? I thought it was completely random.

I tried attacking with an iron dagger and it did no damage against the demon so never mind that idea. However, I got in about 25 or 30 attacks with my normal weapon (Copper-Emblazoned Broadsword) and actually got six bands. I was killed halfway through and forgot to go save my game. Luckily, I got the third band with the demon at 3%. WHEW.

I'm fairly certain the band drops are completely random. Also the number of attacks per combat round aren't dependent on damage. Scoring lower damage by using "lesser" weapons or defensive attacks should result in less damage thereby extending the mp though. This strategy would work better if there were very few participants or everyone was doing the same. If many characters were in the fight and bashing and blasting away with full effort one adventurer's holding back would be minimized.

You're useing the wrong dagger. Try the Enchanted Dagger. It's Magic and only has +1 MR. Oh, and you should try to get your MR dow so that he isn't 3+. (and if he's 18+ and you have >= 98 SP, then you can join the Guild. And then I won't be the only one attonning for past inteligance... [Oh, and Thanks Hastifer].)

Just a note that the damage tables on Xarrak at least, aren't showing correctly. I know I got more damage than 0 in that combat (it dropped the 99 I did in my final combat with Xarrak).

There was another combat where I scored 101 damage total, but it only showed 2 (it dropped the 99 I did in my final combat with Xarrak).

All of the damage from my final round in each battle was left off.

I think it has to do with being in the combat screen with the MP when someone else gets the killing blow.

This is probably more likely for those (like me) who have a slow connection.

I've reported this to the GM...

(Oh, and Simeon got 64 experience, even for the 0 damage)

I just sent a bug report the GM. I really don't know the source of the problem, but I wonder if it's related to the timer issue.

You, good sir, are braver (or crazier) than I... at my max set-up I am 112 MR, 115 SP, 26 NR. -for the Demon I go in at 104(+40)/111/26, and can for long runs like at the latter challenges or exploring go to the Hale Blade with a 98/112/31 setup. I have only just begun to slip my toes into these Multiplayer battles and am Thrilled to get a total of 2000 SP against any of them... and am, delighted to come-way without losing a Rune of life.... Hope you have better luck than me! I seem to love rolling 1's lol:D

I was trying to recharge my Finger... only got two charges that round... dang it!

But I was interested to note our respective damage rolls and how we seem to have a certain amount of synchronicity: when i rolled low, so did you (not all the time, as evidenced by total damage at the end... but your connection is a lot faster than mine), and when I rolled high, so did you.

anyway, I had one amazing round when 20's appeared in such proliferation that I chimed in with 3 quickstone 20's. Unfortunately, I'd already used the wand of Dragonfire and didn't have recourse to the Finger, but I sill scored a 1400+.
