strange as it may seem this almost happened to me once :eek: about half way through someone popped in then dissapeared again after a few rounds and near the end another adventurer popped in and killed it :mad: I must admit I was a little peeved at the time :o

I think the main reason for lower MP participation is all of the content we have available. The traditional grinders along with Tarn plus the regular Battleground content even for those that have all 10 gems the combat xp for the named ogres in LoO is nice. Throw in the hunt x randomness for the gems for those that have yet to get them all and the empty pouches in Fogbough...........

Congrats! you have survived a round of battle against the pumpkin without fleeing or dieing. Most combats end when either you or your opponent have no SP left. However, in a MP battle an attempt ends when you flee, die, or are "forced to retreat."

And yes, Alanne will be arriving shortly. But I'm multi-tasking with some school stuff, so don't expect me to be of much help.

Right, it's as Thingirl said. You will be forced to retreat when you have attacked the boss for the maximum number of turns you're allowed in a given round without fleeing.

Yes, I did last night. They could not find a problem with the line, but they could get no response from the modem when they ran diagnostic tests. The connection has been kind of faulty. I was actually able to read the forum for a few minutes this morning, before it went "down" again. Now that I'm connected again, I'm not sure how long that's going to last before it decides to stop responding again. We might have to get maintenance to come have a look at it.

Thanks Beowulf and congrats for TD and a nice streak. The mps definitely have a new twist on 'em. I had one cycle for 37 rounds - unfortunately Hawk got pummeled early and was fighting defensively for the remainder. I also had to retreat two or three times.

After that one it's time to find ole Farmer Wurmwrit and share some jitters. That and tell him to hide his Miracle Gro. :)

I don't think anyone could complain about this one...my last round started with him at 17%, I did around 800 I think and then had to retreat, then rested and when I went to go back it was over

I don't think that the event has started yet...last year, we had to get coins, I believe and they just randomly appeared during the battle...so far, no one has posted that they got anything...you were also able to explore Trithik, I believe last year to run into the Green Goblin or his minions to get coins

No limit on coins but the rewards were based on the coins. XP to general and AS&P and ATs. If I recall correctly the ATs were maxed out at 24.

My intended question was the one Spencer answered, although I initially thought Badstench's answer meant you got seeds at the blue door. Guess we'll wait and see when rewards start popping up.

Was there a limit last year as to how many coins / seeds / etc. any one character could obtain?

This was the reward for the top player (Xrayspecs) last year.

Does anyone dislike the changes?
The battles don't last long and you're at a greater risk of dying since you fight more round before retreating.
I died twice in that battle. I kept thinking "I'll be forced to retreat soon..."

Also, you people take him down too fast!
Almost every time I check the pumpkin has been already been slain.

Well, its not like i'm going to tell everyone to tone it down. I just have to get stronger. Back to the training grounds...
