Scout's latest run.......

The rider leans forward in the saddle and appears to study you closely before straightening his back and slowly shaking his head. He suddenly holds up his right hand, and there, emblazoned upon his plated palm is a bright red number '300'.

Wow scout. The highest I ever got was sixty-something. The trouble these days is all the new content; There's so much to do, I keep forgetting to visit The Longspur Downs.

Well done!

Thank you!

How I remember to do the runs each day (all 4 of them) is to make sure it's the first thing I do after work. (1 1/2 hours after the server resets)

My goal is to make it to 367, one more than Shadowblack and I'm guessing the record. (Sorry Shadowblack) I would have been there already if I hadn't lost the internet for 3 days last summer after 75 days in a row.

Trent courtesy of a lady named Thaoni that he happened upon in a Tavern at the Moonshore crossroads increased his level of Weaponry, Slashing mastery to Legendary...

Weaponry: Slashing
Mastery: 100 - Legendary

and since he had built both Weaponry and Weaponry, Slashing to level 95 using only specific xp he decided that the two level 100's looked better than one so he made a sizeable withdrawal from his QS Bonus xp cache and promptly increased his level of mastery of Weaponry to level 100...

Weaponry
Mastery: 100 - Legendary

His first order of business after this was to engage in a vicious battle with The Greater Demon Xarakk which resulted in his first MP death in about two months.

This is the highest reward Trent has ever received from a glowing gem fragment...

You make a quick search of the area but can find no sign of the glowing gem fragment. Satisfied that this strange incident is likely to remain a mystery, you once again set off on your way.

Round 1 You've Rolled 10 Attack: Normal

Skyrage Hammer has helped to lower the difficulty of this enemy.
The Skyrage Hammer smashes into your foe with unearthly force

I successfully completed level 35 of Lords of Ogredom! :D

It may not seem like much, until you take into consideration the following:
1) I was out of Blessings of Protection
2) I had used the Wand of Dragonfire on the previous enemy (so I couldn't use it here)
3) I had just 5 Nevernal points left
4) I wasn't fully healed before starting the level, and each of the two Guardians managed to hit me with a 20+ special
5) I beat the level using Normal attacks, 5 uses of Gating (83), one Quickstone heal and just ONE Finger of Dread Charge
6) I had no Quickstone 20s left since I had used them already (and besides, they wouldn't make any real difference)

Did I mention the boss was 17+ with an MR of 163, which is the max for my character? Yes, I defeated a 17+ enemy despite all of the above!:D

Hi all, I was going to wait till I got my Necro up to Level 70 to try anymore.

I've had some tough times getting thru 25, 26, 27, 28, & 29 levels. 29 was just about impossible. Level 30 I got lucky tonight...about my 6th try I got this:

XP +12 You've been awarded a total of 12 Experience...
12 xp applied to Necromancy...
Upgrade to a Sryth™ Premium Membership today!

SP +55 You've healed back 55 Stamina Point(s) from the combat.

The lord of the deep is no more. You step back and take a few moments to catch your breath as you wipe the sweat from your brow.

Daidrur opens his eyes and smiles. The elderly mage congratulates you on your victory over his fearsome elemental minion.

Please continue...

The master elementalist steps forward and makes a swift motion over your square wooden pendant with his left hand. You look down upon Daidrur's Mark and behold the number 30 emblazoned on the surface of the crude wooden square.

"You can now proudly say you've reached the 30th level of my Mark," he says, smiling. "Certainly no small accomplishment by anyone's measure. Well done!"

Please continue...

that was with 68 MR {Hale Blade} and 105 Stamina Points!!

I am sooo pumped .....now to reach level 70 Necro and finish off the 7 Goblin Series and get some nice rewards!!!

:rolleyes:

I was going through Tarn, when I encountered an image of the Tarn-Hurn. My massive(31) reserve of Nevernal Energy helped me win the battle; and after the battle I got 1 permanent Melee Rating point, putting me to 130 MR.

I feel good now; gonna go challenge Talderus next chance I get, because my newfound MR makes him easy.

You're both startled and relieved to find yourself standing just outside the tall, crumbling arch through which you entered the ruined city.

Well done, Trent! Your successful and complete exploration of the upper sections of Tarn, and the first of its lower levels, is a feat worthy of a master adventurer. Please Note: Experience awards for this battle have been recorded for each participant and will be available at the "windowless building with the blue door" in Hawklor, Trithik, or Talinus. There is a delay between the end of a battle and the availability of the Experience awards.

The Redwolf of Sageholt is no more. The hulking wolf creature was valiantly engaged by a brave band of Sryth's most illustrious heroes in a brutal battle that lasted 3 hour(s) and 11 minute(s).

It was ultimately the illustrious adventurer, MrBlack (MrBlack), who brought down Talderus Redborn.

Wielding his trusted weapon (Iakor's Deathblade), the valiant MrBlack ended the menace of Talderus Redborn by dealing out a total of 397 point(s) of damage in his final engagement with the hulking wolf creature.

Here are the names of some of the bravest adventurers who stood against Talderus Redborn, and the damage they scored against the hulking wolf creature...

Judge Fury is what he is... which is just another character who adventures in the world of Sryth.

I view Judge Fury as the medaeival equivalent to Wyatt Earp; in Dungeons & Dragons terms, he is Lawful Good.

Being Lawful Good in the world of Sryth is not necessarily the same as being Lawful Good in this real world.

How does Necromancy fit into the idea of being Lawful Good, because Judge Fury has become a legend in that particular power. This started accidentally; I just wanted him to be awesome with his use of Tzal-Toalth. On the path to being a legendary staff weilder, he became a practicer of the dark art of necromancy.

But I didn't want him to be the type-cast evil raiser-of-the-dead.

So, what's my point, you may ask?

I can only answer that by inviting you to watch the progress of Judge Fury: My goals are to reach legendary status in Restoration, then Lore, Diplomacy and Arcana, not necessarily in that order.

He is a Judge first, a necromancer second, and as such, those skills seem to fit how I should roleplay him.

Do you have an ultimate idea of your character?

Xaran already has Level 94 Unarmed Combat and is going for 90 in Restoration. Until it's possible to free up specific experience in excess of Level 100 somehow, he'll focus his energies in other skills/powers after that. Shadow Magic is his favorite fallback power, so probably that.

Amir is going for Level 90 in Necromancy, Weaponry, and Weaponry: Staves for now. His fallback power is Fortification.

Vylix is working on Level 90 in Weaponry, Weaponry:Slashing, and Shadow Magic. His fallback is Telekinesis.

You turn around and are about to make your way out of the icy chamber when a strange glowing object suddenly appears above the bloodied carcass of the slain troll.

Wide-eyed, with all of your senses alert for the first sign of danger, you gaze upon the shimmering, ghostly apparition of a magnificent shield floating just above the beast's remains.

The apparition of the shield is so bright that you're forced to avert your eyes. At the edge of your vision, in centre of the strange, hovering image of the shield, is a dark, jagged impression.

Suddenly...

************************************************** *******

"Take it, it is yours," issues a low, sinister voice from somewhere nearby. You quickly glance around the chamber, but there is no sign of anyone else present.

"May what served me for three hundred years be your faithful protector," continues the voice. "Leave this place, and never return."

As your gaze falls back upon the carcass of the slain ice troll, you are dismayed to discover that the image of the shield has vanished. However, your eyes quickly dart to the frozen ground at your feet, where lies the object that has for so long been merely an apparition just beyond your reach.

You stare down at a magnificent, glittering shield of ice. Wasting no time, you pick up the weighty, frozen shield.

ITEM You've acquired: Glittering Ice Shield

You once again scour the chamber for any sign of whoever (or whatever) it was that spoke to you only moments ago, but you discover nothing and the voice is not heard again.

With the shield now safely in your possession, you turn your thoughts to finding your way out of this frigid lair.

Joddelle, do you have lvl 100 in all skills and powers minus 1? That is something to brag about. How long did it take you to get there? How long have you been playing Sryth? And how the hell did you get the patience and perseverance to do it?

Joddelle
08-27-2009, 12:26 AM
I've been playing Sryth a bit longer than two years. Due to many, many restarts and much experiementing, Joddelle is almost exactly a year old. Some of you might remember the post I made in the old forum last Labor Day Weekend where I announced completing all the then-available quests that granted AS&P in one day. The character I used was Joddelle. That took about a month of prep-work and I saw quite a few character deaths setting up, but was well worth it.

The Multi-players (though those got sooo click-clickity that I've virtually stopped playing them) and especially Tarn made advancement really fast in the last few months. For a while there when the blue stone orbs were more prevelant, I could manage two 'turn-ins' a day on the weekends, and one a day most other days.

How much do I play? About 6 hours a day intensively - and usually I do an additional couple mini-sessions during the day where I grind though the 4 hourly-ishs (or Tarn - not both) in about 15 minutes. Some days, I play 12 or more hours.

exactly - I have a non-AG character on the four allowed on my subscription account, and she is always allowed into the game.

That, and her starting xp bonus being 3,000 instead of 1,000 are the only differences from having a non-paid account.

Ok, here's mine.

The Redwolf of Sageholt is no more. The hulking wolf creature was valiantly engaged by a brave band of Sryth's most illustrious heroes in a brutal battle that lasted 5 hour(s) and 0 minute(s).

It was ultimately the illustrious adventurer, John Ardin (lightwielder), who brought down Talderus Redborn.

Wielding his trusted weapon (Shimmering Silver Longsword), the valiant John Ardin ended the menace of Talderus Redborn by dealing out a total of 321 point(s) of damage in his final engagement with the hulking wolf creature.

Here are the names of some of the bravest adventurers who stood against Talderus Redborn, and the damage they scored against the hulking wolf creature...

1. John Ardin (lightwielder) 32,813
2. Shadowblack (shadowblack) 590

John Ardin is now in possession of an artifact of almost immeasurable power. Once recovered by the legendary adventurer, Tallys, he passed it off to John (for a hefty sum, of course.) to use as he sees fit. Maybe, it will keep him alive some time in the future.

The spoiler tags aren't really necessary, but I'll use them anyway.
Coiled Serpent Shield

* Class: Armour, Shield
* Encumbrance: 1
* Quality: Magical
* Melee Rating: +17
* Stamina Points: +12
* Nevernal Reserve: +1
* Requires 15 Might.
* Requires 10 Aura.
* Requires 15 Body.
* Requires 15 Agility.

This strange, but fascinating shield is actually a coiled, grey-scaled serpent that's been permanently frozen by powerful magic. Lighter than wood and stronger than steel, this striking instrument of battle is something Tallys discovered in the ancient ruins of a sorcerer's fortress in Phiadon.

The most amazing part of it? It cost 304 AT, but I have never donated to Sryth. This is all earned from my devotion to Sryth. I sold my Silver-Star Shield(120 AT) and my Griffon-Emblazoned Gauntlets.(64 AT) Combined with my 121 Adventurer Tokens, I was able to buy it. I place great importance on the quality of my shield, (regardless of whether or not it was the Silver-Star Shield, or my Griffon-Emblazoned Shield. I have owned both of these in the past.) even over my weapon, because no shield obtained through regular means compares at all to these.

Have you ran Moonpath? The Glittering Ice Shield, while inferior to the above shield, is still a worthy shield. For us non-donors it's free status makes it a real boon. Item 1307: Glittering Ice Shield (Magical) Armour, Shield

Encumbrance: 15
Melee Rating: +15
Stamina Points: +7
Requires 16 Might
Requires 16 Body
Requires 16 Spirit
Requires 80 Weaponry
This heavy, glittering shield is crafted out of a solid slab of thick ice. Leather bands attached to the back of the shield provide a surprisingly effective method of wielding the object, though you cannot fathom how they remain affixed to the item's frozen surface.

You obtained this remarkable, enchanted shield after a long series of victories over the ice troll in its remote, frigid lair.

Current Level: 8

Condition: frozen

Remember you need to level it using general xp. It'll take about 32k to level it fully. Also here's the wiki page (http://sryth.wikia.com/wiki/The_Cave_of_the_Ice_Troll) on The Cave of the Ice Troll. Also you'll need the Glittering Ice Shard from the Rise of the Frost Demon.

If you do it every day, then it will take you 36 + 7 = 43 days = 1.5 months. It is near inpossable to do it every day, so more likely 2-3 months. Alanne thought she would get it in late March. It was almost May when the danged thing dropped to the floor. Oh, coppied from the wiki: When you first get the shield it is damaged and unusable. You get 128 general exp for restoring it (requires using the Glittering Ice Shard in a SAFE location).

The Glittering Ice Shield is a special item you can level in a SAFE location (up to level 8). Its initial stats are:

Why would it be impossible to do every day? I think that the shield can be won in 50 days or less. I remember that most players didn't miss the minimum days by much when we got the shield. Ulric took so long because of my work schedule and Scout has priority on my time.

There is another reason but I can't say what it is, she's standing behind me........

man, what does your wife want you to do?

If she is like my wife, she wants him to do anything EXCEPT to play that @#$$$# game :)

On my last two runs through the BHC I have found the ghost lady 5 times. I got the 256/1,024 reward for 4 of them and 1,024/3,072 reward for the last one.

What's wrong with the Appalachians (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Bwt5MaGvDQ&feature=related)? Or maybe you were refering to something like this. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9gLN3QoN-q8&feature=related) :cool:

I think hiking alone through any mountains or wilderness area is a bit foolish/dangerous. A sprained ankle can literally mean a death sentence in such situations.

as a non-Ag player...this has been really tuff:eek:

finally on part 4:

Your final blow shatters the skeletal mage's right shoulder and drops the nightmarish creature to its knees. As he slumps to the ground, the undead necromancer clutches at you with his clawed hands and turns his dreadful, hollow gaze upward to meet your cold, defiant stare.

"Over..." he hisses softly before collapsing into a pile of bone on the ground before you.

An eerie silence once again surrounds you in the wake of his final passing.

Please continue

I crushed the undead RedCoat necromancer...yay!!

Buy a Digital Video Recorder(DVR) and you can pause, rewind, and record those football shows. My family has one, so I know how well it works.

And what does that mean? My Mother likes football. My Grandmother also likes football.

Yeah, in my family it's the women who are crazy about sports. While we were on vacation in the mountains last spring, my aunt and my cousin HAD to find a TV so they could watch Duke play basketball, and the night before that they and my grandma were all sitting around bent over their iPhones or whatever, checking scores on the internet every 30 seconds. My mom, my (other) aunt, and my grandma follow college football almost that obsessively. My dad and I are indifferent. Heck, I work for a Big Ten university, and I forget occasionally to check if it's game day before I try to go anywhere in town...

I beat the statue in the Silent Temple. Had 193 MR with the Demonscourge, but it still took me a quickstone heal and the WoD. Lots of you probably beat him like nobody's business but it's the first time I did.

Tharvald (I watched him get all that combat XP) had him at 8+ with Demonscourge, used 2 QS, and a WoD and maybe even a FoD.

EDIT: Oh, and even though I can't shoot worth a darn, I like playing Basketball. And I guess I should have said some guys.

Congrats, Daffanka! I have defeated him about twice in my runs through the Silent Temple, and he is around 17+ for me at MR 190 (I always forget to bring my Demonscourge :p). Using a Quickstone heal and WoD is almost a must.
