Siannadey informs me that the Sword of Heroic Splendour (http://sryth.wikia.com/wiki/Item%3A1287_Sword_Of_Heroic_Splendour) changed her alignment to Saintly. I'm Saintly myself and have been for a long time, so I can't test that, and the "Explore the Realms at Random" doesn't want to throw good creatures at me to slay :p. Could any of you with Demonic characters test this out?

I tried with my current character with demonic alignment, but there was no change. Hope this helps.;)

I'll test it with Voltan although I'm certain he'll get the same results as Mr. Blacks character since he also has a demonic alignment.

Scarbrow keep in mind she is non AG and if I'm not mistaken a non AG character can't get to a Demonic alignment.

Maybe it'll bring you up from anything but Demonic.

I'll try to get Voltan's alignment out of Demonic then try it as well. Or alternatively one of the others out of Saintly.

EDIT: Also for some reason I'm thinking that just getting the Sword may be a situation that could "Saintly" someones alignment. Isn't that the one in 7Goblins where you get the gem and can either tell the passing Border Rangers about it (do the 'right' thing) and get the Sword or keep it (do the 'wrong' thing). For some reason that keeps nagging at me like it may have happened with one of my characters. But I could be having one of my somewhat frequent bouts of content confusion.

IF Eadnust ever gets past 7 Goblins IV, she should be able to do 7 Goblins V. Then I'll see what happens to her when equipping the sword.

Scout stored his SSL then killed a friendly woodsman and became Virtuous. He then equipped his Sword of Heroic Splendour and had to fight 2 different battles with baddies to become Saintly again.

So the Sword of Heroic Splendour will make you Saintly, just not instantly like the SSL....

Naughty Scouti!

Hey, you can't be too careful when someone comes toward you holding an axe! Stupid woodsman.

Wow...you can become virtuous by killing a friendly woodsman :p

According to the Wiki, the steps are....

Saintly
Virtuous
Noble
Righteous
Good
Neutral
Corrupt
Immoral
Depraved
Evil
Diabolic
Demonic

.....so I might see how this works as far as how many "Good" I have to kill to reach Demonic and how many bad I have to kill (with the Sword of Heroic Splendour) to come back up.

To drop down from Saintly to Virtuous, it only took 1 friendly but to return to Saintly it took killing 2 bad.

EDIT:

After killing 2 friendlies, Scouts alignment was still Virtuous then he ran into a streak of drinking runs so I quit there.......

Scarbrow is right about how hard it is to find good guys some times.....

Is refusing to help the Border Rangers during explore the realms also a "bad" thing - I'm thinking it is.

Also does anyone else think that when one gets the Sword of Heroic Splendour that it pushes their alignment toward Saintly due to the underlying act of turning the gem over?

That one is still nagging at me. Of course I could be wrong - it wouldn't be the first time that's for sure.

Also I wonder if Scout's experiment is repeated with another weapon if the results would be the same? I'm thinking that they are. If I recall killing creatures of either alignment regardless of weapon pushes you toward the opposing one. Worthy of repeating. I'll try it myself when I got a bit more time and I'll try to search the old forum as well to see if my nagging feeling holds merit.

Yeah, I thought killing good or bad creatures could change your alignment with any weapon. It just takes forever to change it very much that way.

I have to agree with this. Sianna Dey had the Sword of Heroic Splendor for at least a couple of weeks prior to turning Saintly. After a few uses it went into storage.

Sianna Dey later equiped the sword again for a few reasons.
To experiment with raising her rank in Equipment.
Then while experimenting with the 7 goblin Series part 7.
And lastly to raise her Body from a 19 to a 20 to better aid in catching Orbs in the BHC....

It was the latter when it was noticed that she became Saintly!!!!

I believe she was Virtuous or Righteous prior...but not Noble IIRC.
