I realize it's not July yet..just bear with me here; two days (right?) 'til this month is over, so I didn't figure there was any real reason to make a thread for June.
So to start off the randomness, I got a guitar yesterday :)
I don't know how to play, yet, but I'm gonna just try and teach myself.
It's acoustic though, and I kinda wanted an electric one, but this was cheaper and probably a better starting point.
EDIT: There, is that better dooli? Made it G-rated/U-rated ;)

Seems reasonable to me, but can we bear with you instead of bare with you? There's a time and a place for stripping off, but this is a family-friendly forum... ;)

Nice idea - good luck with that! I used to know a few chords, but I've got chronically short fingers and it never really worked for me. Think you're right that you're better starting with an acoustic as I've heard that electric guitars are harder on the fingertips at first. Any guitar-players out there who can confirm that?

Wow...normally when I'm typing or writing that phrase, I spell it b-e-a-r. I'm not exactly sure why I just up and decided to spell it differently. Haha jeez..
And thanks for the encouragement :)

Not me but I seem to recall Blackcrowe is a guitar player - which reminds me has anyone heard from him lately. Also Badstench once owned a guitar and I would do a little necrothreading but alas we're on a new forum. ;)
Also since this is random chat it's gonna take a bit of trial and error to get accustomed to the new forum and navigating around it. However from what little I've seen so far I do like. :)

Not for me. The Dragontavern forums use the same software, and, since I moderate it for spam, and have been on it for more than 8 months now this works seamlessly for me. :p
And sadly this no longer works: :P you have to make the P lowercase now

Some members know that my main and one of my secondary characters are named for the main characters out of the movie Hawk the Slayer. I posted on the old forum about a possible remake. While searching for a new avatar I stumbled across this. (http://hawkthehuntermovie.blogspot.com/)

It is recommended for most beginners to learn using nylon strings. These are less demanding on 'soft' fingertips.
Nylon strings are only used on accoustic guitars, not electric. This is because steel strings are better for conductivity of sound on electric guitars.
Therefore, it isn't the guitar which is easier to play, but the strings.

Strings, I never knew that. But that's probably because you don't want me to play an instrument of sing ANYTHING! :(

Actually it was never down although the reward system was taken down while the PBBG underwent changes. Actually they are still down although from the blogs on the PBBG site they should be enabled soon. The original deadline has came and went by the way.

Well, all your skills are 90+ and all your powers are 83+, and you have 46 higher than Magical's, and SP 32 higher. I guess the game counts the skill margin close enough so that the extra MR and SP rank you higher.

Might have been that Havoc had switched some of Magical's equipment around. I've noticed he routinely wields the Hale Blade even before the Battlegrounds made it more popular - I'm guessing for grinding like many of us.

HAH! After a half hour on photobucket I found my old avatar again. I had tried several others and got the "remote file too large" thing, but I finally did something different. I have GIMP photo edited on my computer so I copied the image, pasted it into GIMP, and resized it so that the length was 80 pixels, then used the uplode image for avatar option, AND IT FIT!
So if your avatar is too big and you haven't found a new one, and you have a photo editing program, just resize it. And if you don't have a photo editing program, GIMP is free.

We (mom, 2 sisters, and I) parked where we could see them and sat in the car.
Oh and a friend of mine has a neighbor who was shooting off fireworks past 3:30 AM. And he had to get up at like 7:30 or something to go to church.

We (my wife, our neighbor and myself) walked to our towns 4th of July parade then to museum after.
Last time we were there (at the museum) I noticed in one of the books on military patches had a picture of my Army Reserve patch but not the patch. So I took one that I never used and donated it to them.

Yeah I would've sat in the car but there was a line of trees in the way so we had to get out and walk a little to the side to be able to see most of the fireworks. And afterwards I definitely helped my mom, her boyfriend, and my sister terrorize the neighborhood with some store-bought fireworks. I like throwing bottle rockets because it makes me feel like Harry Potter mwahaha

I live near a racetrack, and they hold races every Friday night in summer. And they set off fireworks on the Friday closest to the 4th. And, even though there are some trees in the way, I can see them fairly well from my 2nd story window.

MODERATION EDIT: This post and subsequent ones relating to it were moved from Questions to the GM thread.
The game became my life. Just ask my wife, she'll tell you about me and "THAT D@&N GAME!!!".
Now playing the game is a very big sore spot around my house.
Been there a few times myself and I'm guessing I'm not the only other as I'm reminded of some threads/posts on the old fourm.....
You could tell her it isn't a game but an interactive online novel and you're expanding your horizons. Then follow it up by telling her housework or "honeydo" projects like wallpapering (are you reading Chareos?) are overrated.
@ Scout and/or Chareos if you're insane enough to follow this advice lemme know how it plays out 'cause I'm too smart aka big a coward to go there myself.

Wow. Something similar happened to me once, although it was by design. The funny thing about it was that the GM had me make twenty rolls to do what was essentially an epic life drain on a balrog. The first 19 were in the teens. The 20th roll was a 1. Vaporized me (come to think of it, I was playing Amir at the time) and the balrog.

Because marriage is a rite not to be taken lightly. And certain things aren't all there is to marriage. And (no offense meant for non Christians, biblical rant follows)The Bible says: Matthew 5:32 (New International Version)
But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, causes her to become an adulteress, and anyone who marries the divorced woman commits adultery.
So, Divorce for any reason other than marital unfaithfulness is wrong. And being mad at you Husband is not marital unfaithfulness. Rant over, have a nice day ;).

This is apropos of nothing in particular, just running through my head:
I think my favorite thing about Sryth and its associated websites is how remarkably low on drama the forum is. The reason I never play MMORPGs, even free ones, is because I'm not willing to put up with the rudeness and/or immaturity of many of the players.
Here, we have a bunch of people who vary widely in age and other characteristics, but everybody manages to be civil and mature. If somebody does say something a little touchy, it tends to slide by without anybody getting their knickers in a twist. And, yes, it's part of the forum rules, but I think the example set by the core group of admins and posters has more to do with it than the "rules".
Anyway, that's just a long-winded way to say kudos to everybody.
