Joddelle in the game, Nearvirgo in the old forum. I still occasionally visit, though I stopped posting six months ago.

Thingirl's my name, srything's (?) my game. I've been playing for a while and share an account (thinman) with my dad. He lets me play one slot (Alanne).
acebrock
07-01-2009, 02:31 AM
Acebrock's the moniker I go by, and I've played Sryth for the past couple months. I was on the old forum bun never properly introduced myself. So this will be reconciliation
A few non-vital details about me:
My birthday is in the same month as Oldschool, Scout1idf and the GM, September. (check the calender option along the top bar), having the second of the four birthdays
I'm a big fan of the Beatles and John Lennon.
I also play Dragon Tavern where I moderate the forum for spam (and where my Avatar comes from)
I live in Southern California
I'm single (sigh)
I'm a natural lurker/wallflower
I tend to overdo it on the details
I'm a political junkie
I've had two cars, both of which have had exactly 3 sixes in the license plate number
I'm 21
I'm at community college where I major in Political Science
Like many people my age I am woefully unemployed
And I've probably overdone it :p
Lamion
07-01-2009, 01:57 PM
Huh. Feels strange to be introducing myself when I was on the old forum for well more than a year (Nov 2007). It might even be closer to two years now.
Anyway, I am Lamion. Many of you already loathe me, I mean know me, and I have returned to haunt your new forums as well.
A little personal info: I'm 25 years old, live in Ontario, Canada and will be re-enlisting in the military as soon as I have fully recovered from my recent surgery. I actually was hospitalized two days ago with heavy bleeding caused by complications ten days after the surgery. Thankfully they performed an emergency follow up surgery and cauterized the vessels. I'm now resting comfortably at home and have, hopefully, seen the last of the hospital until I go in for a follow up appointment with my doctor in a week.
Lord Lamion is my main character and the only one you are likely to hear me talk about. He's been around for a long time, but he is, in fact, my second character. Lamion, my original, is still around but he's nothing more than a guinea pig for testing out new adventures before I put the Lord through his paces.
And there you have it. Pretty long winded as in intro, eh?
Scarbrow
07-03-2009, 02:12 PM
Hi to everybody
I've been Srything for more than a year now. It's official, since I renewed my AG subscription today.
Most of you won't remember me much. I'm the lurking member, always ready to do difficult math and investigate the Sryth mechanics. I'm also an administrator of the Sryth Wiki, where I spend most of my time (more time than the game and the forum together, I'm afraid)
If you want to contact me, the safest place would be my Wiki talk page (http://sryth.wikia.com/wiki/User_talk:Scarbrow), at least, if you want an answer :)

I'm pretty sure I introduced myself on the old forum, but I'll go ahead and re-introduce myself here.
I'm basically ripping this from my About Me page. But nobody reads that anyway, so none of this should be repeat information :p
I'm 17.
Male.
Single.
Marion, IN born 'n raised.
I have an obnoxious birthmark on my forehead; it lights up when I get excited/upset/etc.
I almost have shirt waffles; I'm a pacifist so I don't hit the gym.
I tend overplay on words (see?), sometimes to the point where it makes almost no sense to anyone other than myself.
I want to be a doctor, particularly an oncologist.
I like movies, long walks on the beach, holding hands, and clichés.
The End.

I see that I miss understood the rep system again.
I thought that the repper and the reppee both had to have 10 posts for the reppee to receive rep's.
Did anyone understand that, if so please explain what I said to me.

Lol..... I'm pretty sure that only the repper aka person giving the rep has to have 10 posts (and 10 points which we all started with) and that the reppee's (person getting the rep) status doesn't matter.
I'm just glad that this system is based on tens. That way I can keep my shoes and socks on when doing my ciphering.

Hi everyone. I registered sometime in 2007 and haven't posted in ages, though I do still read the forums regularly. I'm 27 years old (28 in two weeks), married, American expat living in Toronto. I have a few characters, but the only one I actually play is Colynna. I've gotten the killing blow in the multi-player battles exactly twice and it made my day both times. :)

I'm now wishing I'd registered for the new forum as 'Dooli', rather than the full version. I tend to pick silly words I like the sound of for usernames (you're almost guaranteed that they haven't been used before), but they're a b***** to type.
I've been around for a year now - come to think of it, my AG subscription's probably up for renewal any day now.
I'm still an unemployed British librarian, though now and again I become a temporarily employed British librarian and don't play so much Sryth. But sometime over the next few months I'll become an unemployed British librarian living in Moscow, so I'm anticipating lots of Srything as I hide indoors trying to escape from the Russian winter.

07-09-2009, 12:05 AM
Hi.
Back there, I was "Glück Stern". Here, I'm the less grammatically awkward "Lugwy", which I also use as my game account while fronting dastardly accent-spouting, smack-talking, blood-spilling, money-grubbing, moral-compromising, and soul-murdering deeds...when it's worth it, that is. I noticed that it's hard to truly play the cold-blooded anti-hero (emphasis on anti) in Sryth and remain at peak performance. :(
*takes a deep breath*
How do you do?
EDIT:
"Ach, ye fergot ta say evil-snarkin', ye did."
I believe that goes under the category of "smack-talking". Anyway, let's take this privately, and not in a public post. Standards of sanity, see.
"Donna care, ye lily-liver'd sewer-skag. Yer always be talkin' about free will an' all that, but ye sure ain't livin' up ta it."
Out. Now.
"Whatever ye say, skag."

Just stumbled across the game yesterday and here I am, addicted. Minor, uninteresting details about me include the fact that I'm 23, a native Texan, born and bred, I'm a second-year Master's student of informational ecology, and I'm in a permanent relationship (holy elongate sentence, Batman!).
Oh, and I volunteer at the local wildlife rehab. A lot. This is my break from research and baby birds, heehee.
Anyway, pleasure to meet y'all! Probably going to have all kinds of silly questions, but I promise to scan the wiki and the old forum before posting :)

No worries. I just don't feel like putting in one for the moment, so, eh.
Well, now. Well, now.
"Skag, if ye be pullin' that, I'll carve ye a bloody scar necklace, I will."
It's in my mind, though I'm still thinking on putting in a dry dissertation on the definition and origin of that "skag" word you keep on using. Of course, I'll be adding disclaimers stating that everything I've written is strictly fictional--
"Pulled outta yer own arse'ole--"
--so people won't run after me asking for my sources. Now, I believe there is a certain quest calling your name, so...
"Fine, fine; I'll be goin'. Sleep lightly, taskmaster."

Good evening to all. (At least in my time zone) I am a new member to the Forums, and was not part of the old forums, so I would like to introduce myself.
I am Lightwielder, both on the Forums, and on Sryth. I have been playing Sryth for over a year, I simply never bothered to check out the Forums.
My main character is named John Ardin. You might have seen him in some of the multiplayer scenarios, or in the Hall of Champions: Restoration(82). I am posting a link to my profile if anyone wants to see it.
http://www.sryth.com/p/?e08585xce142f125
I do hope to be active in these Forums, as well as Sryth itself.
(John Ardin's #1 goal: Achieving 100 in Restoration.[preferably before Magical, though that's not likely to happen])
Glad to meet you all.

Aha! I wondered who John Ardin was... mainly because the name reminded me of someone.
Anyway... nice to make your acquaintance lightwielder, and we look forward to hearing from you. The old adage, "The more the merrier" operates well in this forum.

Hmm, I was actually noticed by someone. Who knew? Also, I've seen Judge Fury around quite a bit, and I notice you on the Hall of Champions: Restoration, too.
I'm considering getting an avatar soon, I just haven't done it yet. I feel bland right now. :)

Hi, Lightwielder. I've seen your character's name once or twice, though I don't play the multiplayers anymore and don't really check the Hall. Good to finally meet the person behind the character. Seems like you'll be a good addition to the forum.
I've found this place to be immensely helpful, since not everything can be found on the wiki, especially if the content is new. Of course, if you don't like being spoiled, you might want to avoid the Sryth discussion threads. Personally, though, I like knowing how best to play the game, so I don't mind the risk in the pursuit of information.
I hope you enjoy it here. It's a good community.

I don't honestly know. It was just a thought that ran through my head at the time. I dismissed it after a few days. It was more the fact that I kept seeing you everywhere, and it would make sense that the Gamemaster would have a character, so he can test his game from the player's point of view.

------------------------ Trivia Alert ----------------------------------
Same here but after I couldn't come up with anything I realized I was thinking of John Alden of the Mayflower/Longfellow's "The Courtship of Miles Standish". For those not familiar, Longfellow claimed his work to be true as he was a direct descendant as this was the name of one of the actual passengers aboard the Mayflower as well as Miles Standish and Priscilla Mullens. Alden incidentally had a son by the same name who was accused of witchcraft during the Salem witch trials - he was eventually cleared.
After your post Badstench I got nosy enough to do some googling and came up with this. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Arden)

Yeah, my RP name for almost any game is John, or John Ardin. It used to be John Arden, (Even closer resemblance) but I later changed it because of a typo, but then realized that I preferred it spelled with an "i," so I kept it that way.

Hi All,
I'm new to Sryth and to the Forum. Just wanted to say 'hi'. My character is Alissanna. I tried the game for a few hours and was addicted. I've played many mmorpgs and fantasy games (I still play D2 sometimes haha) and I love everything about making and building a char. I don't wanna give away my age but I started by playing D&D with my brother and friends from BOOKS many years ago... :) I'm loving the game so far and already joined the AG. There's nothing like combining leveling up and growing your char with such an awesome story line and feeling of being part of the story.
Good luck to all and nice to meet everyone :)

Hello to all. I'm Maskull, also known to my old RPG gamer friends as The Octarine Mage. I think I started playing last Monday or Tuesday, the 11th or 12th of July. Been having a blast so far. Played about a month about two years ago and just finished PGV before I had to quit due to a personal calamity. I'm about to start PGV now but am a little scared. I hate starting a PG if I can't be sure of getting 100%. Silly me. :)
I want to extend my heartful thanks to all those who find the time to help a noob like me out, here, in the game, and on the wiki. Shoulder cross to you all.

07-24-2009, 10:51 AM
Hello all, new to the forums here! You can all call me Valiance. There's not a whole lot to know about me without really getting to know me, but I'm a pretty fun-loving guy with a strange sense of humor.
Now, I'd love to tell you about my character, but seeing as how Sryth had left the definition of your character up to you, I've always had his backstory a bit outside the official understanding of the Sryth world, but since I'm in a community now, interacting with other people, feel free to tell me if maybe something should be changed.
Daren Matthias Elaine, formerly Sergeant Daren Matthias Elaine, was a citizen of Kaleia, a kingdom across the Western Sea, on a completely seperate continent. Originally he served in the Kaleian military, and had always been a warrior at heart. He always wanted to be the 'good guy', the one who stood between the tyrant and the victim. And he was very good at it. Skilled with a blade and even more skilled with his mind, he was accepted into the Tai-San, a special forces unit of the Kaleian military, skilled in survival, scouting, infiltration, and other high-risk military operations, much like the Tysian border rangers. He served with a distinguished record, and was admired for his kind spirit, brave soul, and unquestionable moral integrity.
This same integrity is what separated him from the military.
Materials were found on a mission which suggested corruption within the Kaleian military hierarchy. When Daren refused to back down from pressure, corrupt figures in influential places planted evidence and placed false charges against him. Daren didn't stand a chance in the court-martial.
Daren's distinguished record had spared him execution, the typical punishment for treason, as he had been accused of. He was instead banished from his homeland, and shoved on a ship bound for Tysa, a strange and foreign land, which, aside from deportation of unwanteds, his nation had no contact with whatsoever. Never again would he joke with his comrades-in-arms, or see his best friend, or even tell the object of his affections how he felt for her.
Separated from his friends, his mother, father, and younger sister, from everything he's ever known and fought for, and instead, shipped out to a strange and foreign land, not knowing how many times he will raise a blade in this new land's defence.....
Okay, my brother, Lightwielder told me that this, being the introductions board, was the place for this kind of thing. Please forgive me if this is off-topic or in the wrong spot.
Well, it was great introducing myself, hope to have fun as part of this community!

"Ach, 'tis yer usual sob story. A'fore ye arsk: No, I ain't lendin' a blade fer some lump o' land I ain't never 'eard of a'fore."
Not even if you're paid well?
"How 'well' are we talkin', skag?"
Oh...four-digit figures, at least, plus looting and pillaging and overall economy-wrecking for your heroic services. The usual Designated Hero thing and all that.
"If I didn't knew ye better, I'd never thought ye'd 'ave them guts ta snark."
Is that a yes or a no?
"Tch. If yer willin' ta bug me about it, I'd prob'ly do it...if I'm paid well. Startin' with yer purse."
Oh, bother.

Thank you everyone, I'll tell the truth, a big part of thie reason I'm here is because I heard a rumor there were roleplaying and fanfiction forums here, both of which, I am very fond of.
I'll probably be pasting excerpts from Daren's journal (Yes, I actually kept a journal as I played through Sryth) onto the Fanfiction forum at some point.

Hope I don't sound too much like a commercial there
As for the basics, I'm from Ohio, I have cats(2), I enjoy microwavable mexican food, and pro wrestling.
My character Dinkem hails from Parts Unknown(because it sounds really scary), and is on his way to becoming a master thief and warrior.
I really don't know how to end this post, so i'll just go with some dots ...

Welcome to the forum community Dinkem. I hope you will enjoy the forum and continue to enjoy the game. If you every have a question o or run into any trouble please feel free to ask. There are a lot of great players here that will be able to help or at least point you in the right direction. There are many useful threads here in the forum and a wealth of information in the Wiki.

Thank you for the advice, I'll be sure to put it to use when the time arises.
The Wiki has been useful, but I've run into problems with a Personal Antivirus advertisement popping up as of late on their site, at random. Nasty little rouge program/trojan, so i've kinda been going at it with my wits about me on the game. Other than that, yes the Wiki is very informative.

Thanks for the advice. I actually downloaded it by accident the first time, cause I freaked out, and forgot that it was just an advertisement I was looking at. Then I googled the trojan, found some free maleware removal to get rid of it, and it's, thankfully, gone from my computer. This was after I ran a complete system scan with Nortons, which turned up nil.

Zeriken
07-27-2009, 03:25 AM
Hmm, well, I'll start by saying hello to everyone! I've gone by several names, online, including R'ok, Zeriken and Alistair (In order of most/longest used to least/newest used). For here, Zeriken will do.
My main character's name is Zerikal (I have a free account, and couldn't log in to delete the Zeriken name, so I took this name XD). I want to say he is in the mid-range of most skills and powers, and I particularly enjoy using the powers on quests (If you have Telekinesis and wish to use it...) Always imagine what it would look like, in the eyes of the character.
My interests... Well, gaming, reading (sci-fi, fantasy, graphic novels), anime, role playing and... That pretty much sums it up XD.
I live with 3 others (whom I met on an RP site) in an apartment. It's pretty neat, and we don't really get into fights with each other XD.
When I saw an Ad for Sryth, I was very excited; it said something like 'Sryth is like D&D... Online!' Caught my attention quickly, and I had to see it. I'm not disappointed with the AG cost, either; it is well worth it, for the additional story that I get to see.
Several people who play RPGs tell me that they are to be played '..So you can be the best you can be...' I play RPGs so that I can see the storylines. That doesn't mean I don't like to have a ridiculously powerful character; I do. It's just that I don't find being #1 is more important than finding out that (As an example. It's just a taste of what kind of twists and turns the story can take):
Blalak has become a Zombie and is back for revenge.
Anyways, I know I'm gonna enjoy the game, and likely the website as well!

Story? It's taking on the scope of a saga, an epic one at that. I've suggested Mr. Yarrows write novels about the world of Sryth, particularly of Tysa. I know I would buy them. I can't get enough of heroic fantasy, and the likes of David Gemmel is hard to come by. Our esteemed GM would be in good company. If there are computers in the afterlife, Gygax no doubt emails him.
And, of course, a grand welcome to you, Zeriken.

(I have a free account, and couldn't log in to delete the Zeriken name, so I took this name XD).
I'm not 100% sure what you mean by this, so maybe this won't be helpful, but you can create multiple characters with the same name. I assumed for a long time that you couldn't, then tried it and discovered that it's possible.

Hey.. I'm Joe "Nokturnal" Rollins. Ive been Srything for a few days now and I must say..
err, wait. I'll say that in a minute...
.. Ah, yes. Introduction. So, in the real world I'm what they consider an "Advanced" Web Developer since I do Programming / Animation / Graphics all-in-one. I own a Media Entertainment Company (Indie Level) and I have my Bachelor Degrees in Programming and Web Art & Communications. My other favorite Hobbies are writing and gaming...
I love gaming so much, in fact, I even make games! (Why not put my skills to use in something I love right?) But don't worry I'm not here to try and steal members or ideas!
.. which leads me back to what I was going to 'say' earlier. When I stumbled across Sryth I was (and) am in the process of making a game almost identical, except for the world / story, but alas a Persistent Browser Based Text Game that is Story/Quest driven with a spice of mass Rich Graphics and some Animation mini-games...
Well, Sryth is AS CLOSE TO THAT as I've seen so far! The only thing it's missing is the graphical touch and/or minigames. I simply love it! My hats off to the creator(s). If any of them read this and wish to collaborate on future endeavours, I'll provide my full portfolio.
If not, oh well :} I will still have my fun here.
My yahoo and msn handles are provided in my forum profile. Thanks for reading my Introduction! I hope to be gaming with my fellow Srythers soon!

First, Hi and welcome. The game you're working on sounds interesting, and I might play it when it goes live (I can't be a beta tester, as Mathew Yarrows AKA the GM has almost all of my gameing interests in the palm of his had with Sryth).
Second, There is a theory that the GM lurks as a gust on the forum, but that's probably not true. And there's a disclaimer on Sryth.com that says that the forum and the wiki aren't formally associated with the game on the GM. So, if you wan't Mr. Yarrows to "hear" your proposition, I would reccomend e-mailing him (gamemaster@sryth.com) your offer. He might be interested, but don't count on it. But probably it will only be maps and MAYBE Avatars that would appear ONLY on the profiles.
The Idea of OPTIONAL avatars sounds nice, and it could be an AG only thing, but they would make the game take up a lot more bandwidth. Other than that, I don't like the idea of images/ graphics in the game.
Thank you for reading this long post and I hope you enjoy your stay in Sryth.

Welcome to Sryth and the forum, Joe. Be sure to visit the Sryth Wiki as well. If you check out any of the game ads on the Sryth main page, you'll run across a number of them that are graphics-intensive, persistent, browser-based games that approach amazing complexity. Most use Flash. None however come close to the storyline of Sryth, IMHO. Hope you enjoy the game.

The easiest way to PM someone is to click on their name and then click on the link that says "Send XXX a PM".
EDIT: As for PMs not working, Go to user CP, click on "Edit my Options" and scroll down to the section labeled PMs. The first option is "Enable Private Messaging" make sure that box is checked. If you have a strict popup blocker, you might want to uncheck the "Show New Private Message Notification Pop-up" option. Nice to see you over here, Barn.

I am an improvement on Badstench's previous laptop, which he destroyed by knocking a full glass of wine over the keyboard. He stuffed it! I hope he learned his lesson and will treat me with more respect. I cost him a lot of money.

Hello.
For the first time I played sryth back in 2005 or 2006 I think. (I hope the game was on those days and I remember right). Blalak's Broadsword and Seven Statues eq was something quite nice those days. But I was on for just several weeks I think. Had some problems with getting my access to the old forum etc + couldn't become the AG due to PayPal was not working for Russia. So I stopped playing and totally forgot the name of the game. Several times later I tried to remember the link, even checked through different sites but couldn't find it.
I came back on the 20th of september 2008 (just at my birthday) and became the AG instantly (thanks PayPal). I was really astonished to see how the world of Sryth changed. So many new quests / eq / PG / multi-player quests. I played for several months (half a year actually) with my main character - Sanctus - and got another sryth-break till the 20th of september 2009 when I once again started, got 3 new characters (during the month appreciation bonuses and character startup guide - made it even easier). Once again - new game content, new forum (that is really nice), new wiki pages. I am on almost every day now.
So I just want say "thanks" to the GM for making this great effort to develop this world of Sryth and always ready to help by email, those active forum posters who make this community alive, who are always ready to help you with their hints and tips, to wiki contributors who created an amazing source of Sryth knowledge and continue to support it.

I'm one of Sryth's many blind players and must confess to having found posting to forums a bit daunting.
Ihave been playing Sryth on and off since September 2005 and have found it to be a very rewarding, accessible and at times frustrating game. I love the plot lines and character development, as well as some of the nice items and rewards we pick up along the way.
I have two main characters: Handfast, who I've spent the most grinding time and, yes, money on, and Sparhawk, who does all the adventure testing for Handfast. Sparhawk is always the first to go through PG scinarios and test out new content.
Anyway enough for now. Now I've got the bug, you may see me around more often!

Hey everyone!
I have to say, I'm quite impressed! I'm MultiRP, and have been playing Sryth since the olden days (it's been quite some time, but I don't remember exactly. Probably '05ish timeframe), and got pulled away from it because of that silly thing called 'Life'.
A couple months ago, I was searching around for a good game to play, and 'rediscovered' this, and immediately fell in love with it... erm... again. I was truly surprised that it still hung around, and that my old account still seemed to be there, or at the very least don't remember making a new one... so I deleted my characters and started over from scratch.
After several characters, I 'settled' on a main character (Calandra (http://www.sryth.com/p/?15e25baxce1f7a2fa)), and hope to be around for quite some time. I've been lurking on the forums for a few days, and really enjoy the atmosphere in and out of the game. I can't promise I'll become an ultra regular on here (though I'll most likely always hang around in Sryth), but I figure after so long, it's about time I at least told everyone 'hello'!
I know, this is an introduction post, but I wanna say:
Thank you, GM, for making a game so vivid and amazing, and definitely good enough to stand not only the test of time, but also to stand the (much more difficult) test of 'meager money in my bank account' that caused me to pay for AG status!
And thank you, everyone on the forums, for making not only the game, but everything related to the game that much more enjoyable

Welcome (back) to Sryth, Multirp! As far as first posts go, you're ranks up there with the best!
It is great to have you join the forum community. I'm sure that your contributions, even if somewhat casual, will be another plus for us!

Hey all, I'm a little late to this thread as I started posting elsewhere on the forum without properly introducing myself.
My character's name is Ole.
I am a professional computer geek by trade and desire.
Love the outdoors, especially fishing, until winter hits then I become a hermit until the sun shines for more than 8 hours a day.
That about sums me up I guess.

Welcome to the forum, VB; and a belated welcome to Sryth. I wonder if your kids self-destruction schemes include falling off the bed, climbing stuff, mouth-testing everything their fingers can reach, etc.... :) If so, welcome to another club: The Club on Fathers' Heads (children)! ...I've been playing Sryth since early 2008, and got the AG membership as soon as I could. Only recently got my Quickstone, and now wonder why it took me so long to get it. My current ranking is #148 for my main character Rundum (my first post was in the RP section describing my character), although I really need to get my MR up a lot more because the latest Proving Grounds has me stuck dying every time I fight those dang Elementals (I can get it up to around 148 but not any higher yet), and I'm not endowed with the financial ability to buy a bunch of Adventurer's Tokens as of now.
Currently I'm working on Fogbough, which has been fun, and I run Tarn a lot but can't seem to get past the first underground area (I have 2 Blue Stone Orbs and don't know what to do with them yet).
Anywho, hello from the desert land of Las Vegas, NV (my residence and home town), and thanks fer noticin' me.

Any questions, feel free to ask! I won't tell you what to do with the orbs in case you want to work it out for yourself, but I will say that no-one can get past the first lower level of Tarn at the moment - further levels aren't in play yet. Wouldn't want you to waste time working on that one!

You'll definitely be able to raise your MR much more after finishing the content in Fogbough. And there is currently only one lower level in Tarn (it's hinted that more will be added in the future). As for the Blue Stone Orbs...there's a special location in Fang Ridge where you can put them to use.
If you ever need help with anything, or get stuck, feel free to ask questions here. :)

Thank you for the warm replies! Having read through notes and seen many of you in the Adventurer's Guild and Multiplayer fights I feel more like part of a community than someone wandering around in the dark.
@Doolipally: Thanks for setting me straight there. I often look to the Wiki when I am stuck but usually end up side-tracked and then find a use for some item I've had for months that I had no idea did what it does, but only say once a month or so when I feel like I can't find an adventure.
@wetheril: Thanks for the hint! I haven't gotten around to finishing that place as I like to leave something for me to do in case I catch up to the GM (it's happened a couple times) but I'll hold off until I finish Fogbough. Seems to be straightforward enough, and the Baleward stuff is some great content!
To the rest of you, whether you've replied or not: Thank you for making Sryth a community where we can talk about our characters, ask for help, and compare notes. Even fighting together in the Ruins of Tarramyre (smoke is rising from them as I write this, time for some demon bashing!) I have felt some camaraderie, but it hasn't been actualized until now.
Many warm regards!

I was kind of surprised about the turn-out in Tarramyre this morning as well. At certain times of the day, MP participation can be noticeably low. When you have enough people though, it can go by very quickly like this morning. I did get all 3 bands, so I'm a happy camper. :)

Thanks for the welcome. I think a long time ago around October of 2008 I had made it to, like, #65 or something crazy, and then all of a sudden a bunch of new people started playing (which isn't a bad thing at all). I seem to float between #140 and #180 often and frequently so I don't really pay attention to the rankings but more to how much fun I have playing the game. I'm not really the competitive type. ;)
Not to say that you are being overly competitive or anything but cordial, taproot! I know that you mean that our toons are pretty close together as far as questing goes, and I think that's cool:cool:.

Greetings all, I'm relatively new to Sryth (since last November) but enjoying my stay so far =) Got to say that this world is frighteningly addictive - but in a happy sort of way LOL. Was first on the forum last week for a quest problem and was impressed - can't believe how helpful people are here. No crickets chirping on this forum!!!
Anyway, just thought I'd be social and say Hey and introduce myself. I'm 35, married, originally from USA, but have been living several years in Sweden with my husband. Am a sucker for fantasy novels and RPG, especially Tolkien-genre stuff. Wishing they'd come out with a new Star Trek series, but also looking forward to the new Stargate series. My main characters on here are Kaia Silvat and Lili Silvat - they are sisters LOL. Lili is the 'little' sister - although these days, she's usually tougher (benefiting from big sis's experience and prior mistakes!)
Anyway, see you all around! =)

Welcome, Meduwyn! How do you like living in Sweden? Most of us Americans know nothing about Sweden besides Ikea...
It's really nice here - fairly big country land-wise but not many people. Although I am from Kentucky in the US, so was already use to rural setting LOL. The people are nice, calm and laid-back. Crime-rates and traffic accident rates are shockingly low. Health care and college education are free. Groceries and gas cost a lot more, but from what I've seen so far, wages are roughly twice here what they were back home. Air and water is clean. But you can find that is parts of US, too. I guess the biggest difference is that here they have this principle that says that everyone has the right of access to the land. So, basically, you can park your car along the road and just get out and start off through the woods virtually anywhere you like (not across military training grounds and such lol) and it's not trespassing. You can even camp up to one night, though you need permission from the landowner to camp longer. This is really wonderful and makes it so much easier to enjoy the outdoors, so I've gotten really spoiled with this. Also here in Sweden they have NO POISONOUS SPIDERS!!! (guess it's too cold for them) back home was constantly terrorized by brown recluses. So I recommend Sweden for all the aracnaphobes out there...:D
Having said all that, it's still a little sad being so far from one's 'homeland' and I probably would never have had the courage to move so far if it weren't for my hubby (my best friend).

The forum can act as a walk-through if you want it to be, or simply a place where you can be hinted toward further growth.

Before Christmas, I saw a snowball gun at Wal-Mart. It held 3 snowballs and said it would throw them up to 70 feet.
That gun inspired the rotten tomato gun idea. I wonder if it would work?
If the snowball gun actually works for snowballs, it should work for rotten tomatoes too -- they can't be too much more fragile than snowballs. (If they are more fragile than I think, you could always decrease the rottenness -- merely ripe tomatoes would be less fragile, although more dangerous to your target.)
My favorite unlikely gun is the repeating rubber-band gun I still have around here somewhere. Yes, repeating. You load it up with 6-8 rubber bands -- it varies depending on the size and thickness of the bands -- and then you can fire the whole "magazine" as quickly as you can squeeze the trigger that many times.

If you want a rubber band gun, try this one on for size...... (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0GAUnuuBkW4)
I would love to have one of those.......

 Good Lord, that thing holds a huge number of rubber bands. You could use an entire bag of rubber bands just loading it up -- and use them all up in about 10 seconds.
Sweet! :D

I saw a video for a soft BB mini-gun (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A_djlYMFK6s) as well. I'm torn on which I want more. It holds 1300 BB's in the magazine.

Would a skilled necro-threader please necro-thread the players age poll and thread in the old forum's general section? That might be interesting to revisit!
Here ya go, http://shadowwolf47.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=4267
And here's a copy/paste of the old forum's poll results.
1-10 YEARS OLD [ ] (0 votes, 0%)
11-20 YEARS OLD [********] (17 votes, 20.9%)
21-30 YEARS OLD [************] (26 votes, 32%)
31-40 YEARS OLD [********] (18 votes, 22.2%)
41-50 YEARS OLD [*******] (15 votes, 18.5%)
51-60 YEARS OLD [ ] (2 votes, 2.4%)
61-70 YEARS OLD [ ] (2 votes, 2.4%)
71+ YEARS OLD [ ] (1 vote, 1.2%)
Kudos to Scout for creating that one and for Elrond for mentioning it. Good idea for a poll on this forum especially since we seem to have more young(er) members - active ones anyways.

New poll regarding players/members ages on this forum. As with the previous one since it deals with SRYTH membership I put it in the Adventurer's Lounge.

Be interesting to compare with the old forum's results.

Hmm, guess I was wrong about the majority being 35-50. Good to know.

You know what they say about the fastest way to find out a fact on the internet... just post an incorrect version of the fact and wait for someone to correct you. :)

Hey, all. I know I disappeared for a month or two, but I'm back. I hope you all still remember me.(I'm certain Badstench would.)
It's nice to be back. I shall be returning to my "Wandering Adventurer" series, as well.

Lightwielder... first, welcome back!
second, your presence would have been good recently. I just submitted a bunch of questions to the GM from Players, and you had a habit of asking poignant questions with intelligence.
Nevertheless, I'm sure you will enjoy reading the finished result when they are presented.

Thanks, Badstench. I'm certain you would have been correct. Still, feel free to send me PM's about any upcoming questionnaires. I'd be glad to respond.

Actually, right now, I'm popping in and out as I have free time, trying to release the next installment of my series. I've got the idea, now I just need to write it.
Thanks, Elrond.
(I never thought I'd be missed this much. I usually don't make that much of an impact in most places.)
(Hate to post and run, but I only have a couple of minutes to be on here right now. Later, all.)

From my point of view, every addition to the forum is welcome, and those who post quality remarks, ideas and additions are doubly welcome... and it will always be noted when theose contributors go "missing".
Kudos goes out to all the active forum members for keeping this site interesting, informative and friendly.

Three months, and no one introducing themselves. I'm not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing, because I still see the occasional newest member.
Or is the Forum, perhaps, slowing down...
