Even if you were serious that doesn't add up. The statue would have to have gone missing long before now for that to be the case.

The statue's been around for as long as I've been playing Sryth. I remember there used to be an option to mill around by the statue and have some chance encounters. Actually I almost think Hawklor was a bit better organized back in those days.

Kings wear crowns. Nothing obvious in Talinus there, either (except for the assassian who lives in the Graldok Bazzar) Do thanes wear crowns? Is there anything with "crown" in its name that's AG only?

The dark-cloaked man, his thin hands wrapped tightly around the haft of a tall, wooden staff, straightens himself up somewhat and turns to face you. You immediately recognize the treacherous sorcerer, Gilnoras.
"I'm relieved to know that you have obtained it," he says, his low, wavering voice barely above a whisper, "and that you have managed to retain it. The dagger is the key to what lies ahead, and while I would, without question, prove a more reliable guardian of such an instrument, my proximity to our common foe makes such a proposition unwise..."
You angrily demand to know if the clues that led you to this spot were his. Gilnoras nods.
"My first duty is to our Master," he says, "though you mustn't confuse obedience wrought of necessity with loyalty forged of reverence. I will maintain my subservience to the great ogre until it no longer suits my purposes...which, I daresay must echo your own unspoken desire. Do you not also seek to bring ruin to this cruel beast? The time chosen to effect his demise is nearly at hand. You would do well to drop your defiance and embrace Him...it would help to put you that much closer to the breast into which your wicked blade will ultimately be plunged..."
I love the way this guy thinks; Too bad he'll bite the dust too. When Runnie is gone, Gilnoras is following him out of necessity (if he's alive at that stage) ;) .

You've Rolled 1
You swing your staff at your enemy
@ Enemy loses 0
The iron Oakaruk makes no noticeable attempt to counter your attack
@ You lose 5
Gilnoras asks if you had any trouble with the iron Oakaruk. He then tells you that he made certain the menacing creation would be unable to cause you harm.
Just my luck :p

Ok, I guess we didn't need to go to Hawk's place after all (lol).
The last monster was 5+ at MR 194, so I assume his exact MR was 196.
Also, interestingly enough the papers you find can be sold for 1 gp each, which I didn't see mentioned in the Wiki.
I also noted that the Dagger of Vengeance is now +16, and I think it was only +14 after the Crumbling Tower.
So, apparently the Dagger does bad things to Runie - we'll see.

Why wouldn't you just tally up your damage total to get the enemy SP?

We can get a rough SP estimate with only 1 or 2 hits and the corresponding percentages. To get exact SP, the last hit could be an overhit (hits more than remaining stamina points).

It says on the Item Page (http://sryth.wikia.com/wiki/Item:1751_Tattered_Scrap_Of_Paper) that the value is 1 gold. The value of an item in the itembox is the true value found by trying to sell it in a store.

If it were exactly 90%, you would be correct. Unfortunately, the percentages displayed by the game are rounded to the nearest integer, which means there are a variety of values that can all give you a 90% under those circumstances.
The spreadsheet I plug the round-by-round data into allows me to enter an estimaged SP, and then it calculates what percentages would have appeared for those rolls if that were the actual SP, and compares those calculated percentages to the actual percentages to see if they match. With enough data points, you can get it so that even being one point off the actual value will show a different percentage on at least one of the rounds. That's why I'm so positive about the exact SP values -- in the case of the Oakaruk table, 249 SP and 251 SP both produced incorrect percentages, but 250 was correct all the way down.
Thanks, YN and Racey. I do have another table for the Okie. (I got bored and used the WoD :)) It shows 62 = 25%*TS, which means 62*4 = 100%*TS. TS= 248. I'm guessing variable SP ranging from 240-250. Also, I used my first table and came up with 24*10 = 240.damage done| % left

Again, any single percentage value will give you a range of possible SP values, because of the rounding. This table gives a value of exactly 250 SP, also. So they don't appear variable to me.

Head through the portal to the battlegrounds, but instead of going in, trek to the sheltered cove and step through the second portal to Greenthorn Isle. Then climb the hill.

One thing we can be sure of from the HOF description is that our choices will never actually have negative impacts on us. You might just lose out on a neat item or whatever but from what it sounds like it won't belike if you accidentally kill someone during a random encounter on the streets of Trithik and get sent to the Hole. Even if you survive the three weeks there's a chance of permanently losing a few stat points if you don't roll high enough. Not the best comparison but ah well...
