Just noticed this change on the old forum.
The ProBoards Terms of Service has been updated. Please review the changes.
If you agree to the new TOS, no action needs to be taken. If you do not agree with any of the changes, you have two weeks from the new Effective Date to terminate your account.
I BRIEFLY looked at it and there seems to be some possible changes regarding emails as well as liability/indemnity. I say possible because for one thing I don't recall the original Terms of Service. And for another I'm not a lawyer even though I slept in a Holiday Inn Express last night. ;)
I'm guessing it's fairly standard fare and that there isn't any hidden surprise aka "fine print" anywhere.
Here's the new Terms of Service, http://www.proboards.com/tos
And the old forum link, http://shadowwolf47.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=logout
Remember you have to be registered to enter/view the old forum.

Shadowwolf47 runs the old forum (to the best of my knowledge).
What is the likelihood of him terminating his account? I believe he's inactive.
In case this happens, shouldn't we archive all the data on the old forum?

From the way I read it unless you actively terminate your account it stays. The mention of two weeks to terminate in the announcement is a bit confusing. But I'm assuming (big assumption btw) that the two weeks is in reference to how long until the new Terms become effective. And not that after two weeks members will NOT be able to terminate their account.
As far as Shadowwolf47 I think he's been inactive as well as the other staff for a considerable time. So I think the chance of him or the other staff terminating their accounts is virtually nil. Still you make a good point ZM as it's something to consider.
Actually still while that forum was the forum. Havoc has to log in to do admin functions using another member's info which limits his functions. That was one of the biggest reasons for the change to this forum.
As far as archiving the old data Scarbrow's doing just that. Although I'm not sure where he's at on that as I don't think anyone is helping him. Plus he has this forum and the wiki irons in the fire as well.

Since I am a lawyer even though I did not sleep at a Holiday Inn Express last night (lol), I can understand the TOS. If anyone has any specific questions, let me know. I was never a member of the old forum.

Well, maybe texlaw1992 can confirm this, but I think the announcement is there only to fulfill some legal obligation. In Spain, when a service provider (specially if there is an Internet based service) changes their TOS, even if the modification is slight, they are obliged to notify their clients and, if any client does not agree with the change, offer them termination of contract completely free of charge, even if the previous contract contained some form of "permanence clause". There may be additional subtleties involved, but I reckon that notice is owed to something like that.

Scarbrow is correct - guess he slept at a Holiday Inn Express last night too (lol).
Funny story about Scarbrow's Spain - my brother stayed at a hostel named "Buen Dormir" (good to sleep) and the birds were so noisy he renamed it "Buen Morir" (good to die). Also, he made the mistake of trying to pump his own gas - he thought the gas station attendant was going to string him up (lol).
Scarbrow, is it still the case that a lot of restaurants in Madrid first open up at 2 am? I've never figured out how so many people in Spain everyone go out at 2 am to party, yet somehow get to work by nine.

Well, about the gas pump, it depends on the site - some encourage users to serve themselves while others have an attendant for that.
I've never heard of restaurants opening at 2 am, but it's common for them to close way after 1 am. Discos and night clubs usually close around 3 am (due to legal requirements). People use to hang up late, that's true, prime TV time stretching out to 2-3 am, specially series.
And about how do they manage, I don't know. I'm not into going out in the nights. At all. And my work hours, being the hectic 24/7 shifts they are, are also not precisely the most common ones. But office hours are usually 8 to 5 (or later) not 9 to 5. Maybe the reason is the unusually large amount of bars/population in Spain. We are heavy coffee drinkers, and it's usual to have two to three cups during the work day. Combine that with the social aspect of the in-work cafeteria, and you can imagine how most people manage.

Didn't want to make a separate thread especially since it relates to the old forum and is more or less immaterial. The login screen and setup on the old forum has changed. It now lets you link certain social networks from your profile and login using those social network accounts.
