Just offering a suggestion for a Sryth visual style, since it's been/becoming updated with new visual appeal.
I personally had been an AG Subscriber during 2009, though work had taken over my life. I want to renew (At a much more appealing price now, it seems!), but 'perception is reality' in my environment. Although I can play games all I desire as long as my tasks are complete, I'd love it if Sryth didn't look like a game, and we had the option to choose a more generic/bland visual style.
Although this suggestion obviously is to benifit myself, I am sure there are other individuals interested in enjoying Sryth in their down time. Who wouldn't?

I occasionally play Sryth at the office - no problems so far. Anyone comes in, click at the bottom of the screen and done.

*cough* *cough* you're not really supposed to play Sryth (or any other game) at the office.
Also, welcome to the Forum!

Welcome to the forum Zebulan.
I don't know how hard or time consuming an alternate look would take for the GM to implement. I'm guessing you could go to display settings (provided you're using Windows on a pc) and tweak it some. I'm thinking there is a black/white or similar set up. And even if I'm correct that would probably be a pain to switch back and forth. Now that I think about it that only applies to "windows/buttons" if I'm not mistaken.
I don't know if the following would "help" but....
What browser do you use?
Although I don't use them myself if I'm not mistaken there are several "boss key" type add ons. I seem to recall seeing them while checking add ons recently. And I'm guessing Firefox since it's my preferred and normal browser. But I'm guessing each browser has its own version or versions.

Thank you for the warm welcome!
I'm not "supposed" to be playing games in the office, but I'm most certainly in a position where no one could say something to their boss - mainly because I am he.
Our I.S. disallows to use of anything other than Internet Explorer, so I'm kind of stuck with that option (Jerks). I suppose I can look for an add-on for IE with a boss-key feature, I never did think of that.
The GUI was the first thing that came to mind, but I suppose there are alternatives!

I recommend rapid deployment of Alt-Tab, preferably switching you to a mind-numbing spreadsheet. Always used to work for me. :)

You've absolutely lost me, Zebulan.
If I understand you right, you want Sryth to look like a text game, without the pretty borders and designs?
Hmmm.
To my mind, this harks back to games like "Zork", and although I enjoyed the challenge of that game, the peripheral accompaniments inherent of Sryth would have made no difference to the game itself.
Keep this in mind... Sryth is, and has always been, a text game. The meat of the gaming experience is all about reacting to what you read. Ipso facto, the borders and "pretty exteriors" have no bearing on the progression of your character.
Having said that... I see one merit in your argument: The GM could concentrate more on game content if he wasn't so pre-occupied with the overall presentation.
But the same observation is self defeating if you consider the benefits of improved technology, and especially within the realm of computers and the internet.
The GM is building and improving on a game that realises his living. As such, he needs to improve the presentation of the game to keep pace with the expectations of new players.
Since I started playing Sryth, there have been many new developments... some I haven't liked, some I have... but this means absolutely nothing when put in context with the sustainability of the game.
For the sake of the Gamemaster, I would actually like to see more developments to the "visual" aspect of game (without losing the basic premise of it being a text game).
And who knows? One day, Sryth might become a MMORPG (or whatever the term is).

No. That will never happen. The closest thing would be a chat feature in the MPs, and that's not likely either.

I support this option. It's much easier and places no overhead on our already busy GM

Find a way to add the Sryth style look to your spread sheets so no one will know the difference once they get use to the look.:p

If only that could be applied to MS Word for when I'm supposed to be doing school...
Of course, Dad would notice it, so it might not be that useful. But in principle....

Hahaha! I currently alt-tab, but the darker colours contrasting against the sudden blinding white of our corporate statistics tracker (Or the background of an Excel spreadsheet...) is a dead give-a-way I was doing something foul!
Though I must admit... if I changed my spreadsheets to match the visuals of the Sryth game window, I might just get away with it!

I was last there in 2006 - if I did not know I was in Canada and half the people didn't end their sentences with "eh," I'd think I never left the US. Great city.
I went to a restaurant which advertised a "Canadian menu." Now, if you ask "what is Canadian food," nothing comes to mind. So I checked - egg sandwiches and tomato soup (lol).

First and only thing that came to mind for me was poutine (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poutine)...
Er, what brought Ontario to mind? Don't see any mention of it previously in this thread.

I don't know about the cheese curd, but I love beef gravy or chicken gravy on french fries.

...Great City? Canada is a country...! Obviously your referring to a city within Canada, but I simply chuckled when I read that.
A bit off topic though.
Thanks for everyone's suggestions. Alt-tab is the current practice, but a boss-key addon sounds promising.
