Ok, then open the barrels and closely examine the contents (without touching them). Lore, Arcana, Divination to see if we can determine the effect of the contents.

Sniff, sniff, sniff...
The tiny Mimicdrake had its nose against the top of the barrel's edge, trying to get in a whiff of the odor within while being as careful as could possibly be. Sure, the average human might not be able to smell anything from these barrels, but a nose as sensitive as its could be might be able to pick up on something. The little winged lizard was hoping to a great degree that what was inside wasn't the explosive thing it thought it was. If it was, it was getting on something's tail for possible time manipulation.

Unfortunately, the contents were, in fact, liquefied destruction. Being a liquid made up in large part out of magical energy, with the only physical components being a (presumably) water liquid base, it appears that magical energy would be the most likely trigger, though it's possible that the liquid could be set off by physical contact as well.
The stuff is very, very explosive. And by the looks of it, very, very powerful. The barrel itself had wards on the inside which would neutralize its effect, but once exposed to air, the wards are ineffective.

That's not good. Arcana / Lore / Divination as to how we can reset the wards, if we can.
In the meantime, cover it back up.

Let's see if we can rig the barrels to detonate remotely on some sort of magical frequency. That ought to give those Ziardians a big surprise in trhe future.
In the meantime, let's see where this ship takes us.

Oh, it was not a happy drake.
Before the barrels were rigged, the Mimicdrake calmly scurried off them, careful not to let its bottled anger to wind up inadvertently detonating the batch. Once off, however, it shifted back into its oft-taken human form, his anger very-obvious on his furled brows. "When I find whoever made these things, I'm whipping their asses forward a few years. The creation of the barrels' contents are a few years early unless that vision of mine a while back was off..." He was trying to keep his cool, neither yelling, projecting or raising his voice above a hissed whisper as he kept his fists tightly-clenched. He knew full-well how volatile the explosives were...

Good, now let's find out where we are and how long we have to go before this ship arrives at its destination.

The ship has already left Graldok, and is sailing down the river to Easthaven, a riverport just to the...west of Ziard.
It should take around three weeks to arrive.
