However, I do not know enough about the situation or Google's actions/compliance(even after reading the article) to fairly judge whether or not they deserved this. As such, I will remain indifferent.

MOD EDIT: Moved this post and the three previous most (starting with mine) from Random Chat.
How to remove yourself from Google Street View, http://www.pbs.org/newshour/rundown/...reet-view.html The fine was for failing to cooperate with the investigation. IF I've got it right while Google collected the info (from unsecured wireless networks) they didn't do anything with it. It seems the FCC has since dropped the investigation. Btw, I read/heard somewhere that the fine amounted to 68 seconds worth of profits for Google. As the second article states - equivalent to a rounding error. http://www.latimes.com/business/la-f...,3883880.story http://www.pbs.org/newshour/bb/law/j...gle_04-16.html

I noticed the other day, but forgot to say anything, when you are on the Wiki and click the browser search box (google, yahoo, etc...) it gives you the option to add the Wiki to the bar.
I don't know if this a Fire Fox thing or if you can do it on other browsers as well... off to test.... It must be a Fire Fox thing or I'm just not seeing it in the other browsers..... |
