Default Sryth game/forum "glossary"

Just had a thought. Wouldn't it be helpful for all players but new ones in particurlar to have a dictionary of sorts for Sryth acronyms and slang.

Feel free to add any in and I'll try to keep the list updated and alphatbetized in this, the original, post. Also it may be easier for one of the wiki wizards to transfer the info that way if they so desire.

Also if it's not a generally known accepted one it might not "make the cut" but it won't be just me that determines that we'll go with a consensus.

So without further ado.....

"SSX" is often used in place of "SS_," referring to any Shimmering Silver weapon. Figured I'd throw that in.

For example, you might be referring to the Shimmering Silver Longsword, specifically, which would be SSL.

But if you were asking the question, "Have you acquired your SSX yet?" that would not refer to any one, specifically, but one of the set." Either way, I've seen it used a few times, so I'll mention it.

Excellent post. That's all I can say. I'm still learning all the acronyms myself, and this thread will be quite useful.

TOS - Terms of Service

NV - Also Nevernal Energy

TG - ThinGirl (forum acronym)

BS - Badstench (forum acronym)

OS - Oldschool (forum acronym)

I think forum acronyms, at least the most common ones, should be included on a separate section. And put the links to online slang dictionaries on that section.

And another separate section for abbreviations on forum handles, since not all of them are common. TG in particular, since she's mentioned so often, can induce confusion in the cases she's not present at the conversation.

If any of these sections gets too big... well, we'll cross that bridge when we get to it. But I don't think it will grow so far. Small community.

You posted OOC for "out of character," and BIC means "back in character" to refer to returning to your Roleplay style and point of view.

How about:

RP: re-playable scenario (tanonwood, jadefang, axepath, tarn, etc...)
ZBG: Zumryn's Battlegrounds

Now we need to start on our slang:

Runey: Runeskin
Tallys: Tallys' Trading Post (by not slang if referring to the great swindler in person):
The Bitch: Ildraria (dang I hate her)!
Tarramyre: Ruins on Tarramyre
Puppy: Talderus Redborn
